clearly a start class article. to reach B must expand especially with biology and meteology info and more sources. Anlace 00:14, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

Fault names incorrect?

I looked up the three fault names that are mentioned as running through Pinnacles on the USGS database. None of them were in there. From its maps, it looks like the proper fault name is the Calaveras fault zone, Paicines section; the San Benito fault zone; or the Pine Rock fault. I'm nowhere near an expert on faults, but unless someone has a better suggestion in the next couple of days I'll change it. See here for my source. Thanks! -- ColinLittle 21:13, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

The NPS web site does use the names as in the Misplaced Pages article. Cheers Geologyguy 21:54, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

Park Map Graphic

Pinnacles National Monument was upgraded to Pinnacles National Park in 2013. The park map graphic, File:PINNmap1 ArM.jpg, uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, was added to article Pinnacles National Park shortly before the park’s makeover. Unfortunately however, the map of the monument waw never replaced by one for the national park.

There is a downside using a PDF instead of a JPG however, It doesn't open or show up in the media player alongside the article’s other images. On balance, that seems like a small price to pay for the improvement.

Since PDFs are not supported by Media Viewer, clicking on the park map thumbnail in the article redirects to File:NPS Pinnacles Map 2019.pdf on Wikimedia Commons. Therefore, it was replaced by a file, albeit slightly dissimilar (the map that was scrapped contains newly-labeled parking and removed text apparently considered extraneous) that will load in the viewer as expected.
