== Reasons that the party uses in favor of monarchy ==

* It is a symbol of national identity;
* It shows the importance of the fatherland rather than economy;
* It guarantees national unity and impartiality from an apolitical and unelected head of state which does not serve either political party;
* It encloses in itself the history of the past;
* It reduces extremism;
* It is cheaper than a republic;<ref>http://www.unionemonarchicaitaliana.it/index.php/chi-siamo/perche-la-monarchia</ref><ref>http://www.unionemonarchicaitaliana.it/index.php/chi-siamo/perche-la-monarchia/i-costi-delle-monarchie</ref>
* It reduces oligarchies by making monetary influences weaker;
* A monarch is personally interested in not leaving much power to politicians lest he allows to threaten the crown;
* A heir learns his work during childhood, hence not being incompetent;
* A monarch is interested in keeping tranquility so that eventual changes will not be drastic but gradual;
* It removes the uncertainty of whom will be the next head of state;
* It allows more future-term projects;
* It ties all fundamental structures of the state like the armed forces, diplomacy, justice, etc. to the crown, therefore impeding influences from any faction;
* It removes the tyranny of the majority;
* The monarchy unified the Italian penisula in 1861.

== Reasons that the party uses to justify the savoy monarchy (1861-1946) ==

* The monarchy prevented the authoritarian fascist government that had the trust of the parliament from turning Italy into a totalitarian state because Mussolini did not succeed in making soldiers swear allegiance to him instead of the crown;<ref>http://www.unionemonarchicaitaliana.it/index.php/chi-siamo/perche-la-monarchia/la-monarchia-in-12-punti</ref>
* Modern and democratic European countries are monarchies, including the United Kingdom;<ref>http://www.unionemonarchicaitaliana.it/index.php/chi-siamo/perche-la-monarchia/le-monarchie-in-europa</ref>
* Many progressive changes happened during the monarchy, including the right to universal suffrage for males in 1918 and for females in 1945;
* The King was not more responsible than 306 parliamentarians who expressed in favor of Mussolini in 1922 while only 112 opposed him, whereas only 35 men in Parliament were fascists.
* The King fired Mussolini from the charge in 1943 because he couldn't take the law into its own hands before, in a parliamentary kingdom;
* Rome could not be defended from the nazi invasion of Italy, so the King moved to Brindisi to negotiate an armistice with the allied powers;
* The permanent exile of the Savoy family, issued in the 1948 Constitution and unenforced only since 2002, prevented every male descendant of the Savoy family from entering in the Italian territory, which the Italian Monarchist Union deems unjust, also because only 38% of votes were in favor of the exile;<ref>http://www.unionemonarchicaitaliana.it/index.php/chi-siamo/storia-dell-u-m-i</ref>
* The 1946 referendum received many complains, because there were administrative regions that couldn't vote, prisoners of war not yet returned in italy, the population of colonies couldn't vote, many votes with doubtful validity, and also because the King couldn't remain in Italy until the official result of the referendum;
* The government took away the power of the King before the result of the referendum, leaving the only choice to avoid conflict or cause bloodshed;
* The King nullified the allegiance to the crown but not the allegiance to the Italian state;
* The King never recognized the consequences of the referendum and until his death he expressed that the referendum happened with abuses of power;<ref>http://www.unionemonarchicaitaliana.it/index.php/chi-siamo/perche-la-monarchia/storia-della-monarchia</ref>
* The savoy monarchy had been treated bad in the article 139 of the Italian constitution, which forbids the return to the monarchy.<ref>http://www.unionemonarchicaitaliana.it/index.php/chi-siamo</ref>
