The '''nukupu{{okina}}u''' are a group of ] (or ]) species ] in the subfamily ] of the family ]. The nukupuʻu, together with the surviving ], form the genus ''].''

==Description==

Males have yellow underparts and head. The upperparts are duller, darker and greenish. Females are overall duller, with most of the underparts whitish. The lores, eye-ring and long decurved bill are blackish. It is {{convert|5.5|in|cm}} long.

Their habitat was dense ] and ] of {{okina}}ōhi{{okina}}a lehua ('']'') and koa ('']'') at altitudes of {{convert|3300|-|6600|ft|m}}.

The timing of their extinction is controversial. The last confirmed sightings of the ] and ] were in the 1890s, although unconfirmed sightings continued until the 1990s. The ] disappeared in the 1800s, and the ] is only known from ].
