You have created something valuable to everyone on the Internet. I'm sure you get this a lot, but thank you. <br>It may sound weird, but Misplaced Pages has helped me through some tough times. We can never thank you enough for this sometimes infighting, sometimes peaceful, sometimes divided, but always united community You are the backbone of the <s>cabal of editors</s> <b>thriving community</b> that is Misplaced Pages.
Hello, Jimbo! As a defender of Misplaced Pages from spammers, specially those in violation of Terms of Use, I suggest a more careful look for edits outside of English Misplaced Pages. I am starting to notice many spammers that are blocked here on en.wiki, but left unblocked everywhere else and keeping up with the highly suspicious edits.
I wish I could give you a BarnMilkyWay but no one's come up with that, apparently. (]) &#124; (PS: Have a good day) 00:49, 6 January 2025 (UTC)

For instance {{U|BIB6310}}, that is blocked here for being a sock, but went across many other large projects doing the same, most recently on Portuguese Misplaced Pages. If an editor violates Terms of Use, I believe they should be prevented from doing it everywhere. I will probably lock all socks of ], but I believe we should start thinking on some sort of automatic process for such cases, like requesting immediately lock for accounts in violation of ToU. Do you think we should enforce that?

For the interested. ] (]) 10:58, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
Kind regards. —] «]˱<small>] ] ] ]</small>˲» 19:32, 22 May 2023 (UTC)

:While there are some obvious challenges, I actually suspect this is a very clever avenue to pursue change. The first issue that springs to mind is that someone might be very well behaved on one language wiki, but go to another language and behave badly and get blocked, and that's very different from the kind of cross-language abuse accounts that you are talking about. Distinguishing between those would be important.
:Summary: {{tq|This document intends to show the problematic situation in Hebrew Misplaced Pages (hewiki), and provide evidence that it has been overtaken by a group of mostly religious and nationalist editors, who prevent others from achieving higher permissions while promoting their own allies.}} –] <small>(])</small> 22:38, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
:In terms of forecasting the near future, I would anticipate that the <s>right</s> rise of large language models with very good multi-lingual capabilities will probably give rise to new forms of cross-language abuse. Why spam in only one language, if you can spam in 200 for no additional cost? Gross, but that's going to be a thing.--] (]) 09:53, 23 May 2023 (UTC)
::This would seemingly be putting a lot of additional work onto stewards and I think cases like this are the exception rather than the rule. I know that for some sockrings who are known for crosswiki abuse we already globally lock them too. It would be interesting to be able to view all the edits to other wikis by users who are blocked on one wiki though. ] (]) 10:19, 23 May 2023 (UTC)
::Did you mean "the '''rise''' of large language models"? Or have they formed political factions already? ] (]) 10:27, 23 May 2023 (UTC)

    Albert Percy Godber

Happy New Year Jimbo!!! I hope all is well with you and your team.

Could you or your page watchers help me with Draft:Albert Percy Godber? The draft has been declined and tagged up. It was then deleted years ago. I had it restored today after I came across one of his photos. I think he and his photography are fascinating for capturing aspects of New Zealand's transportation and industrial history. His work is in museum and library collections. At least one of his photographs has been used in a book. He photographed Maori sites.

I'm sorry I haven't been able to work the draft up enough to get it admitted to mainspace. It does make me wonder about what we do and don't include, our notability criteria, Articles for Creation (AfC) process, and collaborative ethos. Thanks so much for any help or guidance you can offer! Have a great 2025 and beyond. Thanks again. FloridaArmy (talk) 17:57, 4 January 2025 (UTC)
