Hello. I have read your article called Belgorod, and I think, I found a mistake. Hi Monedula, I know that you wrote ] a while ago, but I was wondering if you can provide sources for the census information in that article. Please link the pages if they are online or reference the books otherwise. If you need help with how to format them just ask. If the sources are in Russian that is fine, even preferable since I'm learning Russian. I found some sources in English that I'm going to add, but haven't found the census info to verify it. Intriguing topic by the way. Regards, ] 05:52, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading ''']'''. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the ] status is unclear. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

User talk:Monedula/Archive001

Javanese language

Hey Monedula, I noticed that you just wrote an article about the Javanese language on the Russian Misplaced Pages. Could you perhaps take a look at this jv:Kaca Utama -> jv:Template:Aboutthispage and translate the Russian section? Thanks! Meursault2004 17:06, 19 August 2005 (UTC)

Done. Btw, what is the difference between "Basa Jawa" and "Basa Jawi"? — Monedula 18:53, 19 August 2005 (UTC)

I've seen it, thank you. Well in Javanese there are different styles. These are socially connected. "Basa Jawa" is Javanese in low Javanese or in common style while "Basa Jawi" is Javanese in high Javanese or in the polite style. This difference in styles is also found in other East Asian languages such as Japanese, Korean, and Thai. Meursault2004 19:31, 19 August 2005 (UTC)

Take a look. It seems there that the raging russophobia of some is the only reason of the attempts to derail the candidacy of one of the most worthy people for the job. His unquestionably high ethics and decensy are so clear even from how he handles the criticism and shameless attacks at his own RfAdm even for those who don't know him from his contributions to Misplaced Pages! --Irpen 19:28, 10 January 2006 (UTC)

Thanks!

Hi, thanks for your voting on my RFA. It has finished with the result 88/14/9, and I am promoted. I am really overwhelmed with the amount of support I have got. With some of you we have edited many articles as a team, with some I had bitter arguments in the past, some of you I consider to be living legends of Misplaced Pages and some nicks I in my ignorance never heard before. I love you all and I am really grateful to you.

If you feel I can help you or Misplaced Pages as a human, as an editor or with my newly acquired cleaning tools, then just ask and I will be happy to assist. If you will feel that I do not live up to your expectation and renegade on my promises, please contact me. Maybe it was not a malice but just ignorance or a short temper. Thank you very much, once more! abakharev 07:34, 24 February 2006 (UTC)

New form of Ё?

I'm wondering if you think that it might be better to change the shape of ё entirely to something more "visually pleasing" and harder to not write than to completely remove it from writing. I'm thinking that, since Ё is iotified, the bar used for Ю could be used, like in E iotified, except with the normal E replacing the Є. The lower cased version could be written with the lower cased e, written in only two strokes. Or one if you don't want to pick your pen off the paper. In cursive, I'm thinking that it would be the easiest to write it exactly like E iotified, but the lower cased could be written as printed. Not that the upper cased one would have to be written very often.

I think that this kind of ё would be easy to write and read, but hard to not write, unlike ё. It'd probably have to be put somewhere decent on the keyboard too, though. And it would be much better to keep some form of ё than not write it completely (which, according to your Russian user page, you like). Has anybody else thought of this? What do you think? BirdValiant 02:20, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

In fact, today both Е and Ё are iotified letters (they are pronounced as and , respectively). Besides, in Russian writing Е and Є are just variants of the same letter. So the form IE that you propose have no clear meaning. — Monedula 12:10, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
Yes, making that form would re-iotify an already iotified letter (in writing only...in speech it would cause an error in the natural order of the universe, causing it to collapse into a singularity, ending all life as we know it...), but it would eliminate the inconsistancy with the iotification (is that even a word?) of vowels. It would be impossible to make an iotified version of O using by attaching an I, as that would yield Ю, which is already taken by У. Since Е and Ё are switched around in grammar so often, it makes sense to have them look similar, but it does not make sense to attach an I to the E because E is the iotified version of Э. This is probably why Ё was formed, as it marked the difference between the two versions, while keeping Ё similar to Е. However, as it marks some iotification (again), even if it is not of E, I thought that it would be better to mark this iotation by using the usual form and attaching an I to the original letter, which could be changed from О to Е to mark the similarity between Ё and Е. It would eliminate the inconsistancy caused by adding the umlaut, but would add one by re-iotifying E. However, this inconsistancy might be harder to ignore invite more people to actually write the letter. Which is the whole reason why I wasted your and my time by writing this. BirdValiant 01:10, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
Maybe a different version of Ё, with the same principles for changing as above, could be like E and e, except with the tail used in Щ and Ц. In this case, it would mark the iotation in the same way as Щ is the iotified (basically) form of Ш. But it would'nt have anything to do with Ц. Maybe it would be easier to write this form. Plus, it would add another descender to the alphabet, as removing Ё would remove an ascender. But maybe we need another ascender. I don't know how E could be changed to have an ascender though. Maybe the I part of the IE could be written as an ascender. But then Ю would have to do the same. Then that's be too many changes to the alphabet. But anyway, the whole purpose here is to make the written form of Russian easier to read. BirdValiant 01:38, 15 April 2006 (UTC)

Chaliapin

Приветсвую Вас, Я только что обнаружил Ваш вопрос:

Chaliapin was born in Ömet Tawı, Kazan.  What is Ömet Tawı? Is it a part of Kazan? — Monedula 08:42, 27 Jan 2005 (UTC)

This what I've got:

Fedor Chalyapin was born on February 1 (OS) 1873 in Kazan, in the wing of merchant Lisitzin's house on the Rybnoryadskoaya Street, now Pushkin Street, 10 (in the Soviet time it was Kuibyshev street, 14). This wing doesn’t exist now, but the house with the yard where the wing was situated is still there. On the next day, Candlemas Day, Fedor was baptized in Bogoyavlenkaya church in former Large Prolomnaya street (nowadays Bauman street). His God parents were the neighbours: the shoemaker Nikolay Tonkov and 12-year-old girl Ludmilochka Kharitonova.

The dwelling was expensive for Ivan Yakovlevich, served as a clerk in the Zemskaya Uprava (Land Council), and in 1878 the Chalyapin family moved to the village Ahmetyevo (also Ometyevo, or the Ometyev settlements, now the district of Kazan near Tikhomirnov street) behind the place named Sukonnaya Sloboda, and settled in a small house.

I try to incorporate this into the article, but please, correct my English.

Non-free use disputed for Image:UAZlogo.png

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:UAZlogo.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Misplaced Pages:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Misplaced Pages:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Misplaced Pages policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:40, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Hello. I have read your article called Belgorod, and I think, I found a mistake. Hi Monedula, I know that you wrote Likbez a while ago, but I was wondering if you can provide sources for the census information in that article. Please link the pages if they are online or reference the books otherwise. If you need help with how to format them just ask. Unspecified source for Image:Roadsign-prohibitory.png

Thanks for uploading Image:Roadsign-prohibitory.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Misplaced Pages:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Misplaced Pages:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 01:09, 30 May 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Kelly 01:09, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Variator (variable valve timing)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Variator (variable valve timing) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Misplaced Pages takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Misplaced Pages to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Misplaced Pages:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Misplaced Pages:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)
