Donald was married to Gloria Ngozi Ike (nee Anyanwu) on 22 May 1982, and they had three children: George Ike, Ugoada Ike, and Dike Ike. He is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren. He died after a brief illness on 7 September 2021.
