*To my mind, if you are looking at moving to list such qualities and then characters that exhibit such qualities, you are probably best off starting a list. However, note that comparing characters against a standard created by wikipedia editors amounts to ] and as such is proscribed against. You would need to provide citations as to where and why the character has been noted as an anti-hero, and allow citations offering opinion that the character is not an anti-hero. Thus, this area is better treated as a list in the article space rather than a category, and so I suggest ] as the best place to create such a list, although further discussion might be better held at ], and to pre-empt that I've copied and amended my comments there appropriately. ] ] 10:33, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

Just a few things. Please use edit summaries, it lets others know what changes you've made, without having to compare revisions. Second, please review past edit summaries to see what changes were made, and sometimes specific reasons for them. For the third time you've used answers.com as a source for the Shadow even though I've explained it's invalid since it's simply a Misplaced Pages mirror, a copy of the Misplaced Pages article, which doesn't cite a source for the anti-hero claim either. Third, some, but not all, of the sources you're citing are unreliable, like blogs and other things that basically anyone can write. You can check out ] on your own, but the most important line from there is: "Posts to bulletin boards, Usenet, and wikis, or messages left on blogs, should not be used as primary or secondary sources. This is in part because we have no way of knowing who has written or posted them, and in part because there is no editorial oversight or third-party fact-checking". I don't want to start a fight, but would you kindly stop removing the image tables for characters? Edit summaries help us decide which edits to click on for more details.
Thanks, and happy editing!
Second, failure to use an edit summary suggests vandalism to many vandal-fighters. I check out most contributions by anonymous editors that show up on my watchlist. I also check out questionable edit summaries or empty edit summaries. You will make the job of vandal-fighters easier if you use edit summaries to let us know that yours was a legitimate edit rather than vandalism.
] and ] | |||
Third, many times edits are back-and-forth dialogs between two or three editors. Edit summaries help us figure out what the dialog is about and whether we want to jump in and read more or just stay out.

== Help with the National Memo article ==
== Dexter's Categories ==
Dear Mike, I noticed that back in 2011 you edited ] article so I assume that you know the field. I kindly ask you to take a look at the ] article. It has been undergoing dramatic edits and I ask for your assistance in editing/improving the article.
I'm not sure if you've actually seen the show or watched the book, but Dexter is clearly a sociopath and clearly a murderer. Whether or not the people he kills deserve it, stalking someone and tying them down and killing them qualifies as premeditated murder. Again, it might be morally ambigious murder but murder is murder.
I while ago I was asked to make several minor edits to the article as paid editor. At that time the article had minimal content and was no more than a stub. I’ve added some information following the structure of such articles as ], ], ] adding infobox, improving categories and adding some well-referenced info. The article started to look like a normal website/media article. After that it got heavily edited in two waves by editors deleting large chunks of well-written (ok, my personal view :)) and well-referenced information. I believe that some of these edits/deletions are extraneous and actually make the article worse/less useful to Misplaced Pages users. I also believe that The National Memo article has an undisputable notability. There is an interesting discussion about this at the article’s .
Also, Dexter is ''definitely'' a sociopath. There is no question about this. One of the major parts about Dexter's character is his unability to feel human emotion. I think he does care for some people, but on a distant level. He has referred to himself several times in the novel as a sociopath. From the novel "''Whatever made me the way I am left me hollow, empty inside, unable to feel. I'm quite sure most people fake an awful lot of everyday human contact. I just fake of all it. I fake it very well, and the feelings are never there.''" Unless you have any concrete proof that Dexter doesn't qualify as a sociopath, please don't remove it again.
A lot of what is going all around this article is plain nonsense. So if you are interested in the subject / in improving the article, please take a look at or . Also if you have any suggestions on improving the article, please share. Thank you in advance. -- ] (]) 15:29, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
I am not sure if you have finished the novel, so I won't go into details about it, but what happened to Dexter as a child was traumatic but it wouldn't qualify as abuse. So I've removed the victims of abuse category.--] 00:09, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

Hi there, | |||
You have shown through your Misplaced Pages contributions that you're a fan of Matthew Modine and quite possibly the 1980s movie "Vision Quest". I created an article on actor ] who played the villian, Brian Shute, in the movie. I've also included information about what Dr. Jasper is doing now. Many people have wondered through Misplaced Pages and Imdb whatever happened to him, and I've tried to put this information out there for everyone. Unfortunately, some people think the article should be deleted for whatever reason. If you loved the movie as much as I did, please go to this and voice your support before the article is deleted. Thanks a lot. I would appreciate your support very much.

Victor E. Marsden
Superb job of changing that article from a laughable mess. Now it's mostly an article about someone who probably doesn't merit an article at all -- it's really yet another of Ludvikus' articles about the history of the Protocols, and someday we'll figure out a way to collate his obviously extensive research into something more suited to Misplaced Pages.
Keith Olbermann
I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for your cleanup on Keith Olbermann. Nice job. I'm sure someone will yell at you for the lack of edit summaries, but it won't be me. --BigScaryMike (Talk/Contrib) 03:22, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
Eric Clapton article
Hi, it's nice to see someone even more liberal than I! I have a blog @ http://leftwingwiil.tumblr.com/ BUT more importantly, I noticed you did recent edit(s) to Eric Clapton. This article was demoted from being a Featured Article. I just wanted your opinion. I noticed you did not have an e-mail button as other Misplaced Pages editors do. if you want to answer the questions below, you can click onto V Schauf (talk) 19:19, 2 May 2012 (UTC) and press the "talk" link next to it. I want to make the Clapton article a Featured Article again. Do you think that this article deserved to be demoted? What would improve this article? Have you read Clapton's autobiography? I wanted to write to you and others who recently edited the Clapton article. Thanks for your time.V Schauf (talk) 19:19, 2 May 2012 (UTC)
Good cleanup
Good job on cleaning up Politics of Bill O'Reilly. Some of the editors have a less-than-pristine grasp of formal diction and tone; I've been meaning to work on it but have been without net access for a hot minute. Thanks! /Blaxthos ( t / c ) 20:37, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

Hey -- thanks for your excellent edits on the plot summary of The Island (2005 film). Also, just to let you know, I restored the detailed plot -- and then removed the fluffy OR stuff. The article has been restored to an earlier version as your edits did not make sense and were not based on research, rather on stylistic conventions. FWiW Bzuk (talk) 12:05, 2 July 2009 (UTC).
- Please excuse the rant, as I was too precipitous in dismissing your contributions, casting them aside since they were not accompanied by references. You are entirely right that there are errors in writing conventions that have to be addressed, and with that in mind, I am doing a thorough review of your edits and will restore them as appropriate. My only disclaimer is that this article since I started on it three years ago has been the scene of many edit conflicts, typically over content as few editors were preoccupied with style or writing issues. Thank you for your efforts to improve the article. One larger section of text that mysteriously has lost its source was, nonetheless restored to an earlier version. You are now a Reviewer
Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Misplaced Pages:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 17:31, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

Editor of the Week | ||
Your ongoing efforts to improve the encyclopedia have not gone unnoticed: You have been selected as Editor of the Week in recognition of your extensive improvements to the encyclopedia. Thank you for the great contributions! (courtesy of the Misplaced Pages Editor Retention Project) |
User:Buster7 submitted the following nomination for Editor of the Week:
- I am proud to nominate Treybien to be Editor of the Week. He is an editor with over 100K edits which is quite an accomplishment and certainly deserving of acknowledgement. More notable, however, is the fact that 99% of those edits are to main articles space. That leaves a scant 1% for everything else. This is an editor that spends his time, hard at work, improving the encyclopedia...using his language skills to make things better, more understandable. Compliments on his talk page speak to his ability to improve articles without creating mayhem, strife or discord. "You greatly improved the article", "It's so much better now", "...the attention it needed", "You improved it alot", and many more.
You can copy the following text to your user page to display a user box proclaiming your selection as Editor of the Week:

- One of the benefits of facilitating the Eddy award is that I get to search out and meet quality editors like yourself. Many veteran editors waste quality time at the various drama-laden pages of Misplaced Pages. Help with the National Memo article
Dear Mike, I noticed that back in 2011 you edited Joe Conason article so I assume that you know the field. I kindly ask you to take a look at the The National Memo article. It has been undergoing dramatic edits and I ask for your assistance in editing/improving the article.
I while ago I was asked to make several minor edits to the article as paid editor. At that time the article had minimal content and was no more than a stub. I’ve added some information following the structure of such articles as Salon (website), HuffPost, Politico adding infobox, improving categories and adding some well-referenced info. There is an interesting discussion about this at the article’s Talk page.
A lot of what is going all around this article is plain nonsense. So if you are interested in the subject / in improving the article, please take a look at January 10th version or January 29th version. Also if you have any suggestions on improving the article, please share. Thank you in advance. -- Bbarmadillo (talk) 15:29, 30 January 2018 (UTC)

Jared Fogle article
Hi! I know it was a long time ago... I found a slight error in fact in this edit.
Fogle was not arrested at the time, nor was he charged yet: "Fogle was not arrested or charged with any crimes, but the now-former Subway spokesman's house was searched two months after Russell Thomas, former executive director of the Jared Foundation, was arrested on charges related to child pornography."
AFAIK Fogle was never taken into custody until the day he formally pleaded guilty in court and was sentenced. (he also had not yet been prosecuted) WhisperToMe (talk) 10:56, 4 May 2018 (UTC)
Keith Ellison
You should probably join the discussion at talk:Keith Ellison. The editors there are not aware that you reinserted the material that they find questionable. Since they have a 3-1 majority, they are not even bothering to respond to the issues that I raise. You can see how they are so agenda driven, that in this revert they overwrote minor template errors fixed by an uninvolved editor. If you join the discussion, they will be forced to discuss the issues. BarbadosKen (talk) 18:03, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
- Please note that your contribution into the talk page was in the wrong section. The section where you wrote was active when those same editors refused to allow any mention of the incident. They have since softened a little bit, and are now trying to suppress the controversy about the existence of the video. BarbadosKen (talk) 22:28, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
- Sorry.

Linking within quotes
Treybien, regarding this and this, the reason I avoided linking within quotes is per what the "Linking" section of WP:MOSQUOTE advises. That stated, the wording there used to be stricter. It was softened following the RfC now seen at Misplaced Pages talk:Manual of Style/Linking/Archive 19#RfC about linking in quotations. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know why I hadn't linked the terms you did. There's also the fact that people usually know what homosexuality, heterosexuality and bisexuality mean (although there are bisexual definition aspects that readers might be interested in learning about). Copying licensed material requires attribution
Hi. I see in a recent addition to Nicky Nichols you included material from a webpage that is available under a compatible Creative Commons Licence. That's okay, but you have to give attribution so that our readers are made aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself. I've added the attribution for this particular instance. Please make sure that you follow this licensing requirement when copying from compatibly-licensed material in the future. — Diannaa (talk) 13:39, 1 April 2020 (UTC)
