Hi Bearcat. You did some minor cleanup on ] about a week ago, but it's creator has since moved it from there user sandbox to the mainspace. Hi Bearcat. Could you take a look at ] since you've disabled categories used for articles on that page and its corresponding user talk page a couple of times already? I did the same earlier today, but the user re-enabled them. I've disabled them again and left a message on their user talk page further explaining why, but ] I left on their user talk page about them copy-pasting articles onto their user page was just blanked without a response (which is fine by me). This is a relatively new account which only has been editing since June, and I'm trying not come off as being bitey; the category issue has, however, been pointed out to them before. They've also done something similar with respect to ] and ].{{pb}}Perhaps you could also take a look at ], ] and ] as well as ] and ] since it's not clear what the user is trying to do with those pages. The first three might be related to ] or ], but I'm clueless as to what they're trying to do with the other two pages. As for the copying-and pasting of ] onto their user page, they do seem to already know how to create userspace drafts, and it's not clear why they've decided not to do so in this case. == Wiki link does not work ==

Hi world!

We are using the Sandbox. In the article we are working on, this link must be consider: https://es.wikipedia.org/Instituto_Aeroespacial_de_El_Salvador

From the article/page we select the phrase "El Salvador Aerospace Institute (ESAI)" as the place where we want to link the page/article.

However, whenever we try to use/paste the link in feature tool box it gives us a link with an arrow in the corner but we just want "the blue text" link. We already tried also the word: Instituto Aeroespacial de El Salvador which is the word that appears below in the link of the page/article: https://es.wikipedia.org/Instituto_Aeroespacial_de_El_Salvador

but again, it does not work at all.

Could you please advice us what to do to get only a blue color link without the arrow at the end of the link?

Many thanks! ] (]) 06:41, 15 November 2024 (UTC)

== Tom Flood ==

Bearcat, I draw your attention to this article, as you are one of the last substantive editors apart from myself to have contributed to the article.
The article was written by Percy Middlemiss in 2008. It was well out of date so I updated it last January. Certain editors have incorrectly claimed I have a CoI on this article (I was the landlady of his brother for a short period, but have no connection whatsoever to the subject). It never occurred to me that this would be used as an excuse to delete the article, otherwise I would not have bothered to make changes. This will certainly happen in 7 days unless some editor saves it. If I do it myself I may once again be accused of a CoI.
I dont know if you have noticed but there is an extreme shortage of editors. So I am requesting that you save the article.
Tom Flood won all of Australia's major literary awards with his novel Oceana Fine, so he is extremely notable.

Of course the article needs some quick work to clean it up (plus a message to the subject that he should not be using it as a personal website, it's an encyclopedia. Clearly, no-one has warned him). ] (]) 13:36, 21 November 2024 (UTC)

:That's not actually how Misplaced Pages works. If the article is outdated then ''anybody'' can update it, and it isn't automatically ''my'' job to personally stay on top of it in perpetuity just because I started the article. I got there because I always fill in any and all Giller Prize nominees who didn't already have articles yet — so my operative interest was "Giller Prize", not "special personal knowledge about Arjun Basu's career specifically". Therefore, any content that's still missing from it is free for ''anybody'' to add, and it isn't necessarily ''my'' personal responsibility to always stay on top of it myself.<br>And no, that's not a personal dis to him, either, because I've started articles about ''lots'' of other Giller Prize nominees without knowing much more about their careers than "person who got a Giller nomination" or taking on direct personal responsibility for the permanent maintenance and updating of their articles either. Once the article is in place, it belongs to the Misplaced Pages ''community'' rather than to me personally, so ''anybody'' can update it rather than it necessarily being ''my'' job to stay on top of updating it for the rest of my life. ] (]) 21:58, 26 November 2024 (UTC)

Hi Bearcat, a poster has accused another poster of lying, in the Talk page for the US Annexation of Canada page. They’ve piped it to look like they saying the other poster has done original research, but the link leads to Lie. That seems to me to breach both the civility guidelines and AGF. Please don't take these to CFD and give me time to sort people. Dear Ldm1954, I'm sorry I removed the notability tag from ] inappropriately. I found it frustrating that the peer review had received no responses (it still hasn't, which is puzzling, given Gary King being quite famous), and I genuinely thought that I made the article meet the notability criteria, because I made quite a lot of changes. I recognise that I failed to act appropriately. Can I perhaps receive more clarification on what needs to happen for the article to meet the notability criteria? And are there any other ways the article can be improved? The article is relatively on the short side - should you want to think about reading through it.
Thank you.

Happy New Year 2021
I hope your New Year holiday is enjoyable and the coming year is much better than the one we are leaving behind.

Editor conflict

I have been adding more current photos I’ve taken of subjects and places in Sheboygan but User:Mrschimpf has reverted several of those edits, falsely claiming I’m some such of competitor in local media in Sheboygan which I don’t own any interests in media publishing in Sheboygan County. In one edit on Shoreline Metro, my photo of a bus in service was removed because he claimed permissions were questionable and the photo was posed. Then there is the challenge of updating the photo on Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Asher Heimermann (talk

Draft: Iowa News & Views

You declined this draft, but I made changes to it that I think solved the initial issue. If you could take another look and give me some feedback I would be appreciative. Thanks for your time. WUH34 (talk) 4:45, 24 March 2022 (UTC)

help with vandalism

Since November 16, 2022, a user who is not logged in, just identified by their IP address has been adding information to the San Antonio FC page that has no sources to back it up with. Specifically they are adding a player to the roster when there is no evidence on the internet, either by the club, league, or anywhere else that this transaction has occurred. I have undone the edit multiple times but they keep adding it back. Please assist.

1/13/23 - The vandalism is occurring again. Would you be able to ban the IP addresses that are adding the incorrect information? TYIA

Issue has been taken care of.

Inexistent categories

Hi, Should I create the categories if they don't exist yet, i.e. ? Thanks, Yann (talk) 20:30, 19 December 2024 (UTC)

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Nevada

I work at BBBS Northern Nevada and saw that you created our article. Which is so random because it’s us, New York, Canada, and America. Canada makes sense for you. BBBS started in New York, America so that also makes sense. But why our agency down here? I’m grateful and curious. Happy holidays :) Wikimickey4 (talk) 04:25, 22 December 2024 (UTC)

East Timor page moves

There are a bunch of pages, including templates and categories, being moved and modified in relation to East Timor being moved to a new name. If you find any category problems that appear to be caused by these changes, feel free to post here or on my talk page, and I'll take a look at them. I will be on a wikibreak from January 1 to 6 but around daily other than that. – Jonesey95 (talk) 18:12, 25 December 2024 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads-up, I'll keep an eye out for that. Depending on what happens it's certainly also possible I may be able to fix some things on my own (i.e. not module-related stuff but possibly some other things) without needing to pester you, but I'll keep you posted if I do need any help. User:Pizermmmmmmm76486

Hi Bearcat. Could you take a look at User:Pizermmmmmmm76486 since you've disabled categories used for articles on that page and its corresponding user talk page a couple of times already? I did the same earlier today, but the user re-enabled them. I've disabled them again and left a message on their user talk page further explaining why, but the last message I left on their user talk page about them copy-pasting articles onto their user page was just blanked without a response (which is fine by me). This is a relatively new account which only has been editing since June, and I'm trying not come off as being bitey; the category issue has, however, been pointed out to them before. They've also done something similar with respect to User:Pizermmmmmmm76486/List of tallest buildings in Albany, New York and User:Pizermmmmmmm76486/List of tallest buildings in Colorado Springs, New York.

Perhaps you could also take a look at Burj Mubarak al-Kabir, Mubarak al-Kabir Tower and Draft:Burj Mubarak al-Kabir as well as User:Pizermmmmmmm76486/Fuck ahah and File:Dubai Towers Istanbul.gif since it's not clear what the user is trying to do with those pages. The first three might be related to Burj Mubarak Al Kabir or Special:diff/John B123/1265426423, but I'm clueless as to what they're trying to do with the other two pages. As for the copying-and pasting of List of tallest buildings in New York City onto their user page, they do seem to already know how to create userspace drafts, and it's not clear why they've decided not to do so in this case. Anyway, FWIW, I only noticed this because I still had the user page on my watch due to some issues with images the user uploaded earlier this year. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:54, 27 December 2024 (UTC)

thanks for sandbox fix

ooph so sorry didn't mean to copy the categories over! thanks for fixing that! -- xarzin (talk) 20:57, 1 January 2025 (UTC)

Designated places in Ontario

Hello Bearcat. Been a long time. I believe you are familiar with StatCan's designated place level of geography. Approximately half of Ontario's designated places are redirects. Many were created by you, presumably to get ahead of creation of unreferenced one-line stubs. Any aversion to me creating articles from the redirects for those designated places without articles? Each would have the latest federal census results at minimum. Cheers, Hwy43 (talk) 06:03, 9 January 2025 (UTC)

Wow that was a quick reply. Sounds good. I just did the same for New Brunswick's designated places. Kept idle hands busy during the holidays. I will start soon with Ontario, albeit at a slower pace. Hwy43 (talk) 06:09, 9 January 2025 (UTC)

Please seat out categories in drafts rather than removing them

I noticed that you deleted a category from one of my drafts. Please seat them out rather than deleting them. You can do this by putting a colon (":") ahead of the word "Category" in the category call. Cheers! BD2412 T 16:38, 9 January 2025 (UTC)

On further examination, I no longer see any advantage to changing the current process. I usually seat out my own draft cats as soon as I add them, so this is on me for missing that step in this case. BD2412 T 17:42, 11 January 2025 (UTC)

Admin Notice board question

Hi Bearcat, a poster has accused another poster of lying, in the Talk page for the US Annexation of Canada page. They’ve piped it to look like they saying the other poster has done original research, but the link leads to Lie. That seems to me to breach both the civility guidelines and AGF. I looked at the main page for the Admin Notice board, but there doesn’t seem to be an appropriate place to report it, even in the Conduct section. Where should I go with this? Thanks. New York City people sorting

Please don't take these to CFD and give me time to sort people. I am literally at the beginning of a months long project of sorting people by occupation and updating List of peoples in all of New York City by bureau. Trust me the end product is going to look great and have all five bureaus sorted. There are so many people in each bureau with pages we can and should do this to aid in navigation. 4meter4 (talk) 16:22, 13 January 2025 (UTC)
