:::] I may be missing something here. I think {{u|Explicit}} as a redirect to a deleted or non-existent page. It seems to me that the version in article space was unreferenced and promotional, whatever his notability, and a move of the page to draft space was reversed by the main editor, so I deleted it, leaving the orphaned redirect that Explicit found. Personally, I don't think the text is acceptable for article space, but, as indicated above, happy for you to do whatever you think is appropriate. ] - ] 09:05, 13 December 2024 (UTC)

== COI workaround? ==

Hi Jim,

Got your message, thanks. First article attempt got deleted. Probably quite common. Still sad.

As you rightly mentioned, conflict of interest (COI) is the problem. Is there a workaround? Do I get someone else to write about me or are there more ways to just about keep article neutral enough for publication? Can I trouble you to have a look whether if it's worth my time requesting for a retrieval of the deleted content for another try? Thanks.

This page wasn't a WP:U5. For one thing, the user had made more than 700 edits to mainspace and rather than the "few or no edits outside of user pages" required for U5. For another, what the user had put on the page was just "Hi!", which is not a remotely problematic user page. SilverLocust thanks. Obviously you are technically right, so I've restored. I'll leave any reversion to you, since the history doesn't suggest to me which version should be restored if it's not left as is. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:20, 11 January 2025 (UTC)
Looking at the user's talk page, it seems that you also unintentionally deleted Aminullah Khan as "making way for a move" even though that page was not a redirect and the page to be moved, Draft:Aminullah Khan, was a redirect. As WP:G6 notes, "An administrator who deletes a page that is blocking a move should ensure that the move is completed after deleting it." The person who nominated it really wanted to delete Draft:Aminullah Khan and move the article there (though that would be move warring despite a WP:DRAFTOBJECT). SilverLocust I'm happy for you to make any remedy you feel is appropriate. It's clearly not appropriate in article space.
