Overdale is a housing estate and suburb of Telford in the borough of Telford and Wrekin in Shropshire, England. It is located northwest of the town of Telford. It forms part of the Lawley and Overdale civil parish.
History
Overdale was first built in 1948, after initially being delayed in 1938 due to the outbreak of World War II. The estate was finished by the end of the 1940s. The estate was allocated for post-war housing by the then-Wellington Urban District Council.
Transport
The estate was once served by the Wellington to Craven Arms Railway and New Dale Halt railway station was near the village of Newdale, located north of Wrekin Way. It has since been demolished and is now part of a footpath. Buses connect the estate to Telford, Oakengates, Madeley, Wellington and Dawley.
