I noticed {merge} flags on both the ] and ] pages back in August 2008. I added my full agreement to such a merger on both article's talk pages and, rather breezily, said that without any dissent from elsewhere, I would effect the merge procedure by the end of 2008. God knows why I did, because I have got cold feet. I do not think there is anything contentious, just that the procedure looks a little daunting to me. Could you oblige, or give me a fool's guide as to how to effect it. Do not lead me to the Wiki help pages for mergers - that gave the cold feet in the first place. Hi again. I'm sorry if you found my format and information to be "unencyclopedic." The plain "encylopedic" format seems to be so limiting on content and substance. ==Am I missing something or are people just being weird?==
Hi Mel, was wondering if you could give advice and/or keep an eye on a situation. I keep a bunch of ''Billboard'' chart-related articles on my watchlist... I've many times removed inaccurate/unsourced information from number-ones lists, etc. so a few weeks ago I began adding external references to ] each week to prevent wrong info being added.... only to have several editors hellbent on removing them over and over. So.... am I being too critical here? Is there a Misplaced Pages guideline that says "lists don't need sources" or something? I've seen lots of vandalism but ''removing'' sources from articles seems very odd to me. Should I stop adding the citations and let them go or continue to regard their removal as vandalism? - ] 16:20, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
:Regarding the above page.... THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU for the semi-protect, I really appreciate that. Just wanted to let you know I removed your edit which put all the quotation marks - ''only'' to retain the uniformity of all of the other number-ones lists (I know that song titles are quoted otherwise). Again, thanks for paying attention. - ] 21:49, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
::Well, to bring all the others in line (regarding the quotes)... well... errr... there are ''a lot''. U.S. number-ones lists go from 1940-2007. Then there are ones for U.S. R&B number-ones, U.S. dance number-ones, U.S. Modern Rock number-ones. Also album number-ones which would have to be italicised. There are also lists for UK, Ireland, Australia (I believe) and god only knows what other countries. It's gonna be a project, for sure. - ] 22:04, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

::Hi, while I appreciate your concern for maintianing the quality of the article, I consider your reverts rather abrupt. Except for the linking of years, you do not clearly justify why you reverted other edits:
::* E.g. wikilinks to ], ], ], ], and ]). Although you later re-linked ] and ] and repaired "articles"!
::* The reason for putting transliterations in ''Italics'' is to keep the reader aware of foreign language texts, which is a common practice
::* In your edit summary, you blame me for . It is evident that I did not add any new texts for which I had to provide any "source" but if you insist on keeping any part of text, you should provide the relevant ]
::*In your , you have linked the word ] with ] which are two different articles.
::*The use of ''i'' and ''e'' is problematic of transliterating Persian and Urdu texts respectively. But it is good practice to maintain the same standard in one article. Marmalade
I noticed {merge} flags on both the Marmalade and Dean Ford and the Gaylords pages back in August 2008. Your obedient, cack handed and addled old fool,

Unreferenced BLPs
Hello Mel Etitis! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 8 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

This has been done because the article consists of a dictionary definition or other article that has been transwikied to another project and the author information recorded.If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. JN466 20:34, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:Third Ear Band (album).jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Third Ear Band (album).jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Misplaced Pages under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Misplaced Pages. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Misplaced Pages (see our policy for non-free media).If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:52, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

Suspension of admin privileges due to inactivity
Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative privileges of users who have been inactive for one year, meaning administrators who have made neither any edits nor any logged actions in over one year. As a result of this discussion, your administrative privileges have been removed pending your return. If you wish to have these privileges reinstated, please post to the Misplaced Pages:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e., as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised and that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions). This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts. Brown people AfD
Hello, I saw that you voted on the deletion of the article Brown people / Brown race back in January 2007 here. As you probably know the result of the voting was a slight keep, so the article is still there. I found the article recently and considered it unacceptable, so I nominated it for deletion again. Could you please visit the article or deletion page and cast your vote? I would really appreciate it. Thank you. FonsScientiae (talk) 14:09, 8 July 2012 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Subhrajit Mitra
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Subhrajit Mitra requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Mdann52 (talk) 17:58, 8 July 2012 (UTC)

Non-free rationale for File:The Reconstruction of Religious Thought in Islam.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:The Reconstruction of Religious Thought in Islam.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Misplaced Pages is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 16:18, 16 July 2012 (UTC)
Notice of change
Hello. You are receiving this message because of a recent change to the administrator policy that alters what you were told at the time of your desysopping. The effect of the change is that you will not longer be able to request restoration of the tools because of your prior inactivity. You have until December 30, 2012 to request restoration or else the policy will prevent you from doing so in the future; you would need to seek a new WP:RFA. Until December 30, you can file a request at WP:BN for review by the crats. Thank you. MBisanz 04:22, 3 December 2012 (UTC)

Your upload of File:All Saints Churchill.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. ArbCom elections are now open!
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
