Animalparty (talk · contribs) I'm a proponent and practitioner of science and rational thought, but will work to ensure pro-skeptic sentiments don't turn skeptic-related articles into fan-centric promotional showcases, just as alt-medicine articles should not be showcases for fringe views. Policies and guidelines cannot be relaxed just because we like or agree with a subject.

DefinitelyNotAnExtraterrestrial (talk · contribs) Data scientist/swe with computer science degree. Have a lot of working knowledge of scientific skepticism, the history of science, the demarcation problem, and scientific revolutions. Ideas that I find especially problematic include homeopathy and other alternative medical paradigms, UFOs-as-extraterrestrials, parapsychology, free energy, cryptozoology, cold fusion, Holocaust denial, and Fundamentalist interpretations of the Bible. I might be a little bit out of step with the general ethos of this group at times because I do think "scientism" sometimes masquerades as "scientific skepticism." I say this to be as transparent as I can be in joining this group. But I am a pretty laid back person, so if you do have any concerns with any editing I do, please feel free to reach out to me.
