Greetings. I'm hoping that you can provide a neutral 3rd party perspective on edits which are currently in dispute (and the subject of an edit war) on the bio for Mary Landrieu. In a nutshell....

From my perspective, I believe the bio currently provides a biased perspective. I'm trying to update content with recent information, remove content which is currently unsourced, edit content which is inaccurately sourced, and make an addition to the lede to make it more neutral.
I removed the <nowiki>{{POV-check}}</nowiki> tag from ] based upon your edits. I liked what you did and just wanted to say "Good job!". -- ] 18:24, 22 January 2006 (UTC)

From the other party's perspective, my edits are biased and based on my historical editing I am biased as well.

Hey, you seem to have a fairly good reputation as a NPOV person. The cannabis article is in need of some serious work. I think I burned up my good will early there by trying to make too many changes to quickly + a poor word choice in my first edit. If you are willing/interested, I think it could use your help. If you do decide to take a go at it I can provide support both in editing and in arguing for NPOV language.
:catskul/] 06:43, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
*Unfortunately, I don't think I have quite the expertise or time needed to go through the article since it is very long and involved. However, if you could point to specific instances where you feel there is a problem with NPOV, I might be able to help. By the way, thanks for working on that John McCain article. I think it's important to addresss controversies, even (or especially) when they are baseless, in order to provide a place for the rumors to be dispelled. I'll try to work on that more if I get a chance. - ] 07:12, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

After much back and forth, the other party has added or updated sources for some of the content which I was trying to remove. So I think we're down to a core set of edits to be resolved.
== ] ==

I'm asking you to provide a 3rd party perspective since I've noticed that your edits and comments on political subjects have historically been neutral. Also, you've edited at least one of my edits in the past to provide a countering perspective (so I doubt you'd be considered an ally).
<i>You recently made an edit to the page on Bill Clinton in which you changed the phrase "On August 31 2005" to "In August 31 2005". I had always assumed that the former version was the correct one. Would you mind explaining what the rules are on this? I'm genuinely confused. - Maximusveritas 02:26, 2 February 2006 (UTC)</i>

== Adding Kyle Cares Amoeba Awareness ==
You recently amended the entry on Mike Huckabee, specifically with regard to unemployment in the state. While the job base appears to be increasing this is misleading, more jobs are available and unemployment is down in NW Arkansas and to a lesser extent the Little Rock MSA, however in southern and eastern Arkansas the job market is continuing to atrophy. I feel that the entry was perhaps correct as it was. -- ] 20:20 04 February 2006 (UTC)
:What you've said about the disparity across the state is correct, but the statement I removed was referring to a loss of jobs in the state overall, which is incorrect. If you would like to ammend it to say what you just did and provide a source for it, I would be fine with that. - ] 00:10, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

==Your Defense of the Klansman ==
how can we add a section on the naegleria fowleri page regarding the work our foundation has done for amoeba awareness? We started the Kyle Lewis Amoeba Awareness Foundation after we lost our 7 year old to the brain-eating amoeba, naegleria fowleri, and we work every day to make others aware of the risk and how to protect those they love from the horrendous and fatal affects of this parasite. Kyle's story has been featured on Monsters Inside Me, Inside Edition and many news clips. We work together with the CDC and other researchers in this mission. The Kyle Lewis Amoeba Awareness Foundation has made contributions to research and awareness to the CDC as well as a San Fransisco company working on a new drug treatment to fight naegleria fowleri.
The article in question is a matter of opinion. We simply disagree. That you choose to defend a hatemongering klansman is your business. == Edit on Sue Kelly profile ==

www.KyleLewisAmoebaAwareness.org
You recently removed the sentence about a review of Sue Kelly's votes that talked about her siding with conservative Republicans every time after inquiring about the source of the review. The information comes from a review that I did using data from the Washington Post. There's a link here: http://projects.washingtonpost.com/congress/109/house/narrow-margins/ which breaks down the closest votes for the first session of the 109th Congress. I looked at the 15 closest votes as identified by the Washington Post and created an Excel chart. While the data itself comes from the Post, there is no other independent analysis of Kelly's votes that I'm aware of. Given the edit war on this particular entry, I didn't want to insert this without trying to explain myself first, though I think it should be included.(] 17:12, 27 February 2006 (UTC))

i understand that, but i dont really see why individual matchups if relevant like against billups and kidd cannot be put on the page when they show that nash is not at his best when he comes up against other elite point guards. please explain because i think it should be there in some capacity. if its ok for people to write about when nash dominates other players, why not when other players dominate him???

== Heidi Heitkamp ==
well the whole article is about how nash is so good as a player and does so well, there should be something about how one of his weaknesses seems to be him underperforming against some elite players and his weak defense. 2 or 3 lines is not enough in my eyes to look at the main weakness of his game, given that the rest of the article is about his qualities as a player. i reckon it should be included and you dont need critics to tell you a fact that billups and kidd dominated his this season.

Your input is requested regarding a discussion on Health Care at ]. Thank you.] (]) 17:57, 17 October 2013 (UTC)
ok i will find some stuff criticiing nash, there is plenty out there. his bad defense is often criticized a lot. its just that somehow now, defense doesnt matter and you get back to back mvp's for just dominating on the offensive side of the ball. my argument is that yeah i respect nash for being an amazing offensive player but when doing a "player profile", one should look at how rubbish his defense is and how other point guards have simply outperformed him. just as its relevant to say that nash is generally amazing against other point guards, its relevant to say that he has struggled against point guards who can play defense (kidd, billups) and that should be noted. the fact that a player cannot perform against other point guards is relevant and i will not go as far as saying that nash is a choker cos he has been good this playoffs, but his lack of performance against kidd and billups has to be noted in my opinion, just like his double digit assists are noted for the rest of the season. nash has many faults and defense is such a huge part of the game and his lack of it should be addressed and i will now find some articles that highlight it and put them on as sources.

I respect the fact that you want this page to be free of POV's and I understand that. But my use of the word "communist" to describe the Sandinistas is fact, not POV. The word is being used to describe political leaning. It is not my opinion. It is truth. I have reviewed the policies and guidelines for biographies on living persons, and my edit of that section was within guidelines. Content was pretty much the same. It would be dishonest not to mention the political affiliation of the group that he helped. Did you see the link that characterized the Sandinistas as communists? Please let me just explain myself: I removed the category because it is my understanding that Senator Edwards does not actually teach a course at the law school or anywhere else. (One cannot, it seems, take Course X with "Professor Edwards.") Rather he runs an institute associated with the law school. My search of the UNC Law website appears to confirm this -- i.e., that he does not teach a course and thus does not qualify for this category, as it is currently defined. I still think he does not properly belong in this category, but it's not one of those things that really bothers me. Thanks.

Well, to you the truth I get what you have to say about more citations completely, but the only thing is that when I said it was extremely difficult to find anythign about Gus Wingfield, I meant it. All of the information on both articles actually came straight from the two sites I cited on each. I really should move onto to new biographies of the New State Auditor, and the New State Treasurer, you know, get on with writing about the rest of Arkansas figures, maybe do some work on La, which seems a little better covered than states anyway. Please actually '''take a look''' at the changes I made to the article. Before and After.
How do you insert the picture into that Box, I can't figure it out.

I assure you that I've kept in all his relevant quotations. Yet, you mass revert everything, even when I remove the "Academy award winning" from the description of "Academy award winning" Cuba Gooding, Jr-- we can both agree ''that'' was exciseable fluff, no? Or, listing all the titles of the books he has written in the main body... when all the titles of his books are already provided at the bottom in the Publications section? Or listing his stated religion twice?
2. Do you know how to design and template, and if you do, could you help make one for the State Auditors. You'll find the blank template on my user page.--] 03:08, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

I spend a good number of hours (wasted, I guess?) because you can just press a button and mass revert. You do not even bother to read what changes I have made.

OK, I get it, and I concur: the previous versions of my edit were rough and "scorched earth"-like. This last one, not so much.

The article really was atrocious before I looked at and it needs a serious review; it's ''almost'' a candidate for conservapedia.com as is.

== Ben Carson II ==

I have been in wikipedia for a while, but I've never touched a third rail like this.

I don't actually know which (or how many) people I have to placate for this consensus. Just who gets to decide? And what if just one of these many people with their fingers on the mass revert trigger is a Fox News viewer and thinks the mentions of Hannity opinions of Carson's opinions are relevant?

One thing I am amazed at/confused by: the idea that, if it's referenced, it can stay in. A verifiable reference is necessary, but the thing you're referencing must be relevant, no? The impression I get from certain users is "If it's referenced, it stays." So, since Cuba Gooding, Jr. ''is'' an Academy Award winner, when listing Ben Carson's autobiographical movie, we include the line "Helping Hands, with Academy Award winner Cuba Gooding, Jr. playing the lead."

Have you read the original sections I've changed? Almost anything someone does will be an improvement to them. They are disturbingly biased, in tone, and in superfluous factoids they contain.

What exactly do I have to do here so I dont have to waste hours of my life. I mean, if this is hopeless and there are partisan people who have this article on their watch list, let me know that too. (I'm just hoping, that I'm speaking to someone who is of like mind as myself: that is, someone who is disturbed by bias or fluff in an article and wants to do "the right thing" in wikipedia.)

Thanks--] (]) 00:07, 17 November 2013 (UTC)

== What is POV ==

You removed my text ''"."''. I believe your reasoning is flawed.

I don't see how that is POV. While it is obviously what Democrats would like it to read, it is also unarguably true. I know that most US media would be reluctant to state the obvious truth, if one of the political sides are lying about it, but to quote Krugman: . Steven Spader

If you think that it should be subsumed into a broader article about the Mont Vernon murder, that's cool. I can change it within the next week.Shemp Howard, Jr. (talk) 15:09, 21 August 2013 (UTC)

I moved the information to Mont Vernon Murder. Will add some more details. You can delete Steven Spader if you'd like.Shemp Howard, Jr. (talk) 13:29, 22 August 2013 (UTC)

Mary Landrieu

From the other party's perspective, my edits are biased and based on my historical editing I am biased as well.

After much back and forth, the other party has added or updated sources for some of the content which I was trying to remove. So I think we're down to a core set of edits to be resolved.

I'm asking you to provide a 3rd party perspective since I've noticed that your edits and comments on political subjects have historically been neutral. Also, you've edited at least one of my edits in the past to provide a countering perspective (so I doubt you'd be considered an ally).

If you're interested in the color commentary, there's a great deal here: Misplaced Pages:Administrators'_noticeboard/Edit_warring&action=edit&section=11, as well as on Talk:Mary Landrieu

Adding Kyle Cares Amoeba Awareness

Maximusveritas how can we add a section on the naegleria fowleri page regarding the work our foundation has done for amoeba awareness? We started the Kyle Lewis Amoeba Awareness Foundation after we lost our 7 year old to the brain-eating amoeba, naegleria fowleri, and we work every day to make others aware of the risk and how to protect those they love from the horrendous and fatal affects of this parasite. Kyle's story has been featured on Monsters Inside Me, Inside Edition and many news clips. We work together with the CDC and other researchers in this mission. The Kyle Lewis Amoeba Awareness Foundation has made contributions to research and awareness to the CDC as well as a San Fransisco company working on a new drug treatment to fight naegleria fowleri.

please let me know how we can share this foundation and it's work through wikipedia.

Bill de Blasio Subsections in Early Career

I respect the fact that you want this page to be free of POV's and I understand that. But my use of the word "communist" to describe the Sandinistas is fact, not POV. The word is being used to describe political leaning. It is not my opinion. It is truth. I have reviewed the policies and guidelines for biographies on living persons, and my edit of that section was within guidelines. Content was pretty much the same. It would be dishonest not to mention the political affiliation of the group that he helped. Did you see the link that characterized the Sandinistas as communists? If I am incorrect, please provide a link. I'm always willing to learn.FactsInHistory (talk) 00:20, 31 October 2013 (UTC)

Ben Carson

Please actually take a look at the changes I made to the article. Before and After.

I assure you that I've kept in all his relevant quotations. Yet, you mass revert everything, even when I remove the "Academy award winning" from the description of "Academy award winning" Cuba Gooding, Jr-- we can both agree that was exciseable fluff, no? Or, listing all the titles of the books he has written in the main body... when all the titles of his books are already provided at the bottom in the Publications section? Or listing his stated religion twice?

I spend a good number of hours (wasted, I guess?) because you can just press a button and mass revert. You do not even bother to read what changes I have made.

OK, I get it, and I concur: the previous versions of my edit were rough and "scorched earth"-like. This last one, not so much.

The article really was atrocious before I looked at and it needs a serious review; it's almost a candidate for conservapedia.com as is.

Can you please msg me before you mass revert me again?

Thank you.--Petzl (talk) 23:14, 16 November 2013 (UTC)

Ben Carson II

I have been in wikipedia for a while, but I've never touched a third rail like this.

I don't actually know which (or how many) people I have to placate for this consensus. Just who gets to decide? And what if just one of these many people with their fingers on the mass revert trigger is a Fox News viewer and thinks the mentions of Hannity opinions of Carson's opinions are relevant?

One thing I am amazed at/confused by: the idea that, if it's referenced, it can stay in. A verifiable reference is necessary, but the thing you're referencing must be relevant, no? The impression I get from certain users is "If it's referenced, it stays." So, since Cuba Gooding, Jr. is an Academy Award winner, when listing Ben Carson's autobiographical movie, we include the line "Helping Hands, with Academy Award winner Cuba Gooding, Jr. playing the lead."

Thanks--Petzl (talk) 00:07, 17 November 2013 (UTC)

What is POV

You removed my text "but this stated concern were obviously just a false pretense for their real desire to prevent the appointment of liberal judges changing the political leaning of the court, since it would be absurd to imagine Republicans arguing for the same court size reduction if Republicans could decide who would be appointed.". I believe your reasoning is flawed.

I don't see how that is POV. While it is obviously what Democrats would like it to read, it is also unarguably true. I know that most US media would be reluctant to state the obvious truth, if one of the political sides are lying about it, but to quote Krugman: If a presidential candidate were to declare that the earth is flat, you would be sure to see a news analysis under the headline ”Shape of the Planet: Both Sides Have a Point.” After all, the earth isn’t perfectly spherical. Misplaced Pages should be held to a higher standard than the ridiculous US media, and should not be afraid to state the inconvenient (for some) truth. Thue (talk) 02:37, 22 November 2013 (UTC)

Carson's views on czars

Hello,

You reverted my edit on the article about Ben Carson. I was wondering why it needs a secondary source. Is it a rule on Misplaced Pages (yes, I'm still somewhat “noobish” here; but I have made many edits on articles) or is it that you feel it's irrelevant? I feel that it's quite relevant, as Carson has been involved in politics recently.

Awaiting your response, The Sackinator (talk) 03:39, 22 November 2013 (UTC)

Sylvia Browne

Thank you for catching the duplication I missed. I do think that her prediction of her death is better placed with the section on her death, but that is very minor in my opinion, and I have no objection to the deletion. I have only been contributing actively to Misplaced Pages for a few years now and appreciate genuine attempts to improve my contributions and correct my blunders.
