== Re:1995 British Grand Prix ==
I thought I should finally take the plunge and have a stab at writing a race report, seeing as I have all the sources with me. It's also my final exam tomorrow and I wanted a break from revision after writing about Plato and Machiavelli for three hours this morning... (Not that I'm planning on writing it all in a day. ;) )
As you can see, the layout and wording of the article is already indebted to the race report articles you have already written. I've already got the BBC coverage of the race downloaded on my laptop, so I think my vote would have to go for 1993, just to hear Murray's live commentary on the Senna-Prost-Schumacher battle in the opening laps!--]] 15:50, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
== 1995 free practice/qualifying ==
After trawling through the appendix of the ''Formula 1 Yearbook 1995'', I've found the session times for practice and qualifying, which are constant throughout the season (except at Monaco and in the case of unforeseen delays). However, the regulations also state that each day's free practice session is split into ''two'' parts, giving four in total. I've attempted a revised standard introduction in the ] article, on which I would value your input, as it may result in changes in the other 1995 race report articles, both to the standardised explanatory sentences and in more general terms (e.g. "Schumacher set the fastest time in the first session, posting a lap of 1:16.057" might need to be changed to "Schumacher set the fastest time in Friday's free practice sessions, posting a lap of 1:16.057). The Sporting Regulations also define the different types of session as "free practice" and "qualifying practice", which I've incorporated into it.--]] 17:57, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

::Oh dear, I hope you get that sorted out. At uni everyone's laptop seems to die on them at some stage or another; I guess I've been lucky so far! ;) Have you considered getting an external hard drive? It's more expensive than a memory stick, but it can store a VAST amount of backed-up files.--]] 11:33, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

- Be careful with your comments at FAC. Keep in mind what FAC is: compromise. Consider expanding the lead, it may not be necessary in your eyes for the article but it could make or break the FAC. My second comment ] stands. Just a thought. Apterygial 12:23, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
- I'd go into more detail about the race itself, for example Schumacher catching Alesi in the final laps (why). Maybe mention at the start of the second paragraph the fact that the race had only just returned to the Nürburgring (oh, and you may have to explain in Background that the European GP jumps around the European countries, that the European GP was at Jerez the previous year, and there was still a German GP in 1995). Re:Thanks
You're welcome! :) I hope the Argentine artice goes well - I was lucky enough to come across about half the 1995 run of Autosports being sold on eBay, so once they're all delivered I'll have three contemporary sources for 14 of the 17 races (including Argentina)!--Midgrid(talk) 21:29, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
- Only one sentence about some upgrades to the Ferraris, but the Autosport issue should have some more details.--Midgrid(talk) 13:54, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
- Update: I was silly enough to have all of the new Autosports sent to my home address by mistake, so it'll be another week and a half before I can access them.--Midgrid(talk) 15:51, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

Re:1995 British Grand Prix
I thought I should finally take the plunge and have a stab at writing a race report, seeing as I have all the sources with me. It's also my final exam tomorrow and I wanted a break from revision after writing about Plato and Machiavelli for three hours this morning... (Not that I'm planning on writing it all in a day. ;) )
As you can see, the layout and wording of the article is already indebted to the race report articles you have already written. I've already got the BBC coverage of the race downloaded on my laptop, so I think my vote would have to go for 1993, just to hear Murray's live commentary on the Senna-Prost-Schumacher battle in the opening laps!--Midgrid(talk) 15:50, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
1995 free practice/qualifying
After trawling through the appendix of the Formula 1 Yearbook 1995, I've found the session times for practice and qualifying, which are constant throughout the season (except at Monaco and in the case of unforeseen delays). However, the regulations also state that each day's free practice session is split into two parts, giving four in total. I've attempted a revised standard introduction in the 1995 British Grand Prix article, on which I would value your input, as it may result in changes in the other 1995 race report articles, both to the standardised explanatory sentences and in more general terms (e.g. "Schumacher set the fastest time in the first session, posting a lap of 1:16.057" might need to be changed to "Schumacher set the fastest time in Friday's free practice sessions, posting a lap of 1:16.057). The Sporting Regulations also define the different types of session as "free practice" and "qualifying practice", which I've incorporated into it.--Midgrid(talk) 17:57, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the feedback; I've tweaked it a bit.--Midgrid(talk) 14:44, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
- Oh dear, I hope you get that sorted out. At uni everyone's laptop seems to die on them at some stage or another; I guess I've been lucky so far! ;) Have you considered getting an external hard drive? It's more expensive than a memory stick, but it can store a VAST amount of backed-up files.--Midgrid(talk) 11:33, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
- No problem; I haven't been too active recently either!--Midgrid(talk) 16:06, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

Talk first before jumping to conclusions
Please read all discussion on a topic before jumping to conclusions. The user who reverted the edits I made did so after discussions had finished and did not remove all EU flags and also did so against the consensus of the discussion on the Talk page. That user was not advocating national flags but no flags at all. The discussions concluded the consensus to change from the original EU Flag to the national flags had not been reached and the change was against the previous consensus.--Lucy-marie (talk) 12:29, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer
Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Misplaced Pages:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Karanacs (talk) 17:38, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Main page appearance: 1995 Japanese Grand Prix
This is a note to let the main editors of 1995 Japanese Grand Prix know that the article will be appearing as today's featured article on March 5, 2013. You can view the TFA blurb at Misplaced Pages:Today's featured article/March 5, 2013. If you prefer that the article appear as TFA on a different date, or not at all, please ask featured article director Raul654 (talk · contribs) or his delegates Dabomb87 (talk · contribs), Gimmetoo (talk · contribs), and Bencherlite (talk · contribs), or start a discussion at Misplaced Pages talk:Today's featured article/requests. If the previous blurb needs tweaking, you can change it—following the instructions at Misplaced Pages:Today's featured article/requests/instructions. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page. The blurb as it stands now is below:
The 1995 Japanese Grand Prix was a Formula One motor race held on October 29, 1995 at the Suzuka Circuit, Suzuka. It was the sixteenth and penultimate round of the 1995 Formula One season. The race, contested over 53 laps, was won by Michael Schumacher for the Benetton team (pictured) after he started from pole position. Mika Häkkinen finished second in a McLaren, and Johnny Herbert third in the other Benetton car. Jean Alesi, driving for Ferrari, started second alongside Schumacher. However, Alesi was forced to serve a 10-second stop-and-go penalty because his car moved forward before the start. Alesi climbed back up to second, before retiring on lap 25. Schumacher's rival in the Drivers' Championship, Damon Hill, started fourth amidst pressure from the British media after poor performances at previous races. Hill moved up to second because of Alesi's retirement, but spun off the circuit on lap 40. Schumacher's win was his ninth of the season, matching Nigel Mansell's record for victories in a season that was set in 1992. Benetton were confirmed Constructors' Champions as Williams could not pass Benetton's points total in the one remaining race. (Full article...)
