	After quite some time away indef blocked vandal ] has returned. First as ] and than he changed from the IP to ]. All our favorite Gon4z vandalisms are there again: deleting things from Serbian military articles, inserting Albanian nationalist bogus claims into all kinds of articles: , , . Than there is the blanking of his talkpage again () plus his trying to blank the block notice from ]s site () and him trying to delete the list of Gon4z socks (). Plus edit warring, insulting users (mostly me), uploading of images without license, or uploading images and claiming to be the copyright holder, or uploading images again that have just been deleted as copyvio... not to forget his his love for sources that talk about all kind of things but not the things he claims they talk about, preferably in a language other than English and all the other Gon4z behavior... 	::::The biggest change I've seen to the admin interface is diffs in deleted revisions (which I think came a few weeks ago, unless I only noticed them them). E-mail blocking is something I know should only be used in certain circumstances (such as editors sending harassing E-mails) in accordance with the block policy. In fact, I might be wrong, but I'm sure I read in a signpost archive somewhere that semi-protection is a feature that was introduced in 2005 (I think anyway). In fact, when I first registered, things like the number of bytes in an edit and in the history, as well as certain features in the contributions logs, weren't around, so it shows how much the overall interface has changed since I've been here! ] 01:26, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

	He had been getting on everyones nerves, sometimes blatant un-civil comments are needed, not that I am trying to justify my actions. I know of Civilality rules, but eveyone gets hot under the collar sometimes, i'm sure many of the other users were not far from where I was with Green Kirby, I doubt that if the page hadn't been protected we'd have a whole mess of angry users, good thing Alison protected it. 	Hi. Could you take a look at the current lead of the ] article. I have sourced two The New York Times and the London Evening Standard that children primarily believe in Santa Claus. Additionally, there is an MSNBC poll provided showing children believe in Santa. Two "Santa is real" supporters feel this is POV (one removed the "primarily" word as a "weasel word"), and one, ], found a Canadian marketing survey that showed out of 1000 Canadian adults, 300 believe in Santa and 700 did not. So I added the wording "(and a small number of adults)" with the source. This is now being called POV on my part. 	A review of the Talk page edit history shows you to be familiar with this case. ], an editor with a clear ] issue to begin with, is now marching into territory that could best be described as a fusion between ], ], ] and ]. The editor made an article edit containing the word "penis." Since this article had nothing to do with either sexuality or medicine, it immediately raised concerns for me. He was describing some event involvng two real people, Kristinn Taylor and someone with the alias "Dr. Raoul," and he now admits that the event never even happened. So this also raised ] issues. I left a warning on his Talk page and he has been calling me a sockpuppet ever since.

	:The IP is not close to the ones Brion (and Dean) was using. That isn't conclusive of course, but... Now, you could argue for meatpuppetry, if you wanted, but I think that regardless of that, 68 makes some good points about the article, even if I don't agree with all of them. So I would not immediately call out 'sockpuppet', since 68 wants to contribute, even if there were to be some bias on his/her part. The fact that someone just shows up immediately on the FR article is rather suggestive of bias, but so long as this person follows the rules, and works collaboratively, there isn't a problem. As for including our costume friend, we need to ask an important question: does such information belong in an encyclopedia article? I think sometimes we lose sight of the fact that an encyclopedia is what we are building, and can caught up in whether something is or isn't true, rather than if it is actually relevant. <span>] <sup>]</sup></span> 02:52, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

How we will see unregistered users

Hi!

You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.

When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.

Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.

If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.

We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.

New administrator activity requirement

The administrator policy has been updated with new activity requirements following a successful Request for Comment.

Beginning January 1, 2023, administrators who meet one or both of the following criteria may be desysopped for inactivity if they have:

Made neither edits nor administrative actions for at least a 12-month period OR
Made fewer than 100 edits over a 60-month period

Administrators at risk for being desysopped under these criteria will continue to be notified ahead of time. Thank you for your continued work.
