Senator Antilles was a long-time servant of Alderaan, having been Senator for several terms. Antilles served on the Internal Activities Committee of the Galactic Senate, and was the one who informed Chancellor Valorum of charges of corruption filed against him after a failed trade summit on Eriadu. After his failed bid for the chancellorship, Senator Antilles refused to seek another term, and instead allowed Senator Bail Organa, Prince of Alderaan, to secure the senatorial seat. Antilles had no children of his own, and his only surviving relative was Raymus Antilles, his nephew. Raymus Antilles is the captain of Organa's blockade runner, the Tantive IV, which can be seen in both Episodes III and IV.

Antilles died on Alderaan in retirement during the events concerning the rise of the Empire. Until his last breath, he criticized Palpatine's regime, and attempted to convince Senator Organa to withdraw from the Republic. His advice fell on deaf ears, and his dying words would be inspiration for Mon Mothma's Declaration of Rebellion nearly twenty years later.

Bail Antilles was played by ] in the scenes excised from Episode I. The character is sometimes mistaken for ] - adoptive father of ], played by ] in '']'' and '']'' - and indeed his likeness was used for pre-Episode II incarnations of Organa.

Redirect to:

This page is a redirect. The following categories are used to track and monitor this redirect:
  • From a fictional character: This is a redirect from a fictional character to a related fictional work or list of characters. The destination may be an article about a related fictional work that mentions this character, a standalone list of characters, or a subsection of an article or list.
  • To an embedded anchor: This is a redirect from a topic that does not have its own page to an embedded anchor on the redirect's target page.
    • An {{anchor|(anchor name)}} or {{visible anchor}} template, a HTML element with id="(anchor name)", or an |id=(anchor name) parameter might be installed at the beginning of a paragraph, in or near a section header or within a table. The anchor might also be an old section header that has been edited and is anchored within or near the new header to prevent broken internal and external links.
    • Even though section headers of the general form ==(Header name)== are themselves a type of anchor, use {{R to section}} instead.
  • With history: This is a redirect from a page containing substantive page history. This page is kept as a redirect to preserve its former content and attributions. Please do not remove the tag that generates this text (unless the need to recreate content on this page has been demonstrated), nor delete this page.
    • This template should not be used for redirects having some edit history but no meaningful content in their previous versions, nor for redirects created as a result of a page merge (use {{R from merge}} instead), nor for redirects from a title that forms a historic part of Misplaced Pages (use {{R with old history}} instead).
When appropriate, protection levels are automatically sensed, described and categorized.
