The website ''']''' is known for its tendency to propagate a great number of fads and in-jokes. The list that follows identifies several major such fads; as such, it may be incomplete. Note that the fads almost never consist of only the elements indicated for them; indeed, the fads could not be as popular without variation. Also, these variations tend to include elements from other fads.

==Movie/Television-related fads==
*The infamous ] scream from '']''. This was the very first major (and one of the strongest ongoing) fad on YTMND.
*"The Picard Tribute", based on "The Picard Song" by DarkMateria, a song using samples from ], centering on quotes from ]. This site has gathered over 1,000,000 views, making it the most popular ytmnd of all time. ()
* Two comical songs about ] the original from the movie ] and the other from the TV series ]. They are often accompanied by pictures having to do with ].

*]'s Michael Palin, Terry Gilliam, and Terry Jones's cry of "Nobody Expects the ]!" This is usually placed as a surprise within a YTMND. (i.e - Link opens a treasure chest to pull out a new shiny bike, but he is intercepted by the crashing chord of the Spanish Inquisition!)
*The phrase "It's time to d-d-d-d-d-d-duel" from the anime ]
*"You're a wizard, Harry" from the movie ] set to different people named Harry
*"Dead Nigger" from the movie Pulp Fiction, where Jimmie Vincent and Jules are talking about the wonderful choice of coffee that Jimmy made. Jimmy responds that he is not thinking about the coffee but instead he is thinking of "the dead nigger in my garage".
*Various YTMNDs showing the infamous Burger King "]" along with the phrase "Where is your God now?". Often, the ] trailer music plays in the background.
*Various sites feature ] from ] eating various objects, the original being Kaga eating a bell pepper. Another Varation of the fad is Brian Peppers, A sex offender with a demented face.
*The scene in ] where Bill and Ted are falling down "a really deep hole."
*]'s line "Is Wayne Brady gonna have to choke a bitch?" from a sketch on ]. Words from a different phrase usually replace "choke a bitch" or the name ].

==Music-related fads==

*Various famous songs being played in reverse to show hidden messages, such as celebrities are "]s". Some are just fake with a voice mixed in, such as an already-famous YTMND.
*The song "]" by ]. It usually accompanies animated pictures of people dancing or moving their body.
*The song from the movie soundtrack "'']''" by ], though almost exclusively referred to as "Super Slam" and associated with ]. Derived from a Flash animation made popular on 4chan.
*A clip from "''Requiem of a Tower''" (a remix of the '']'' theme from a '']'' trailer), used as dramatic music in non-dramatic events.
*Boots Randolph's "Yakety Sax," the theme from ].
*]'s "OH SNAP!" from his hit song, ']'.
*The song "Running in the 90's," a song featured in the anime show ]. Other songs featured in Initial D have been popping up lately as well.
*Various parodies and recreations of the ] music video 'Take on Me'.
*Other countries' versions/dubs/languages of popular cartoon theme songs, the lyrics of which have been "interpreted" phonetically to English, the most popular being the Finnish theme song of ], and the German version of "Do the Mario". *Clips from the guitar solos featured in ]'s "Fury of the Storm" from the album ]

*A GIF of a ] ejecting its disc automatically, usually with a loop of ] "]" playing in the background. "Take Me Out" was used in the PSP commercials in the ].
*Parodies of the death sequence in '']''. One of the original death sequences (the sequence used is random) had ] calling out for ] in a memorable way: "Snake? ...''Snake?'' ...''SNAAAAAAAAAAKE!''
*Parodying the ] controller, usually its resemblance to a boomerang.
*A scene from '']'' of Doc Louis riding a bike next to Little Mac, accompanied by the statement "Nigga stole my bike". The original image was made by a member of ] in a ] Phriday. (Doc Lewis's name in the fad appears to have been changed to simply "Nigga") <!-- Anyone know where the quote's from? -->

*A ] crashing into a character, usually with the '']'' "thwomp" and "death" sounds. This is usually used to interrupt in a manner similiar to the Hassan fad.
*The '']'' Leeroy Jenkins video.
*8-bit console (usually ]) remakes (e.g. ]'s "X Gon' Give It To Ya", ]'s "Moskau", ]'s "What Is Love", Gunther's Touch my Tra-la-la)
*Various characters saying they "got the ]".
*FPS Doug from the internet series ] saying "BOOM! HEADSHOT!"
*"WRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY", a scream associated with the series ] and popularized in a Flash video disseminated widely through 4chan. The original video combined Dio Brando's "The World" super move, which could stop time; Dio's "Road Roller", in which he crushed his opponent with a ], and Shadow Dio's "Charisma", in which he screams and sends sparks toward the opponent. Of these, the "Charisma" scream is most prevalent, followed by the "Road Roller" steamroller.
*A ] player screaming at a fellow complaining that he stole his Cloudsong.
*Rolling balls of various random objects, similar to ]. Usually accompanied with the theme song, sometimes with appearances of the main character(s) of the game.
*Depictions of many YTMND fads on the LCD screen of a ]™ ] gaming device.
*"Select a Fad", in which a character selection screen from a game such as ], ], ], or ] is edited so that the game's original characters are replaced by characters from various YTMND fads.

==Politics related fads==
*Democrat ]'s infamous speech and frenzied scream at the Iowa Caucus.
*]. Sites usually made fun of her and combined her with other fads. After her death in early 2005, the fad died down.

*] Governor and actor ]
*Accidental sentences spoken by President ]. The most popular ones include "I hear there's rumors on the Internets" and "Actually he forgot Poland" Both of these in the 2004 Presidential debates.

==YTMND-related fads==
*The original site ("You're the man now dog!")
*Tributes to other fads and/or YTMND itself that generally combine or incorporate many fads into a single YTMND.
*Spoof of new shirts being sold by the webmaster of YTMND. Usually saying "You WILL buy a shirt!" while hypnotic additions are made.

==Miscellaneous fads==
*Failing at life or failing in general (using the losing horns from '']'')
*] interrupting a scene, using his theme song that consists of some chants in an Arabic language, "Alleyliaaliaaa!". Hassan is known for interrupting people during his wrestling shows, which obviously inspired the fad.
*], an energy drink marketed to ]. Usually paired on YTMND with ]'s song "]." The "Tarzan Boy" song is considered equivalent to homosexuality on YTMND now. This was a forced fad made by forum members.
*A young man named Mike, pictured apparently too drunk to stand. The original was accompanied with the text "Mike is Done," and it has since been mutated to the point that "Mike Done," has become his name by popular standard. This is another forced fad made by forum members.
*]s.
** One of these is Ridin' Spinnas, which consists of an ] of two men in ], with the penis of the man on top spinning around. In the background is the song "Ridin' Spinners" by ].
* A YTMND featuring Bethany Massamilla, a.k.a. BethanyM, an administrator for GameFAQs/GameSpot's forums. She became the prey of GameFAQs forum users, due to their hostility towards ] "selling his soul to GameSpot". One such example of BethanyM is "I AM BETHANYM", in which a picture of her is accompanied by an obviously male voice.
* ] of an important plot point from '']''. (The plot point in question is descibed in the previous link.) Borrowing from the "Gay Fuel" fad, this fad is also usually paired with the "Tarzan Boy" song.
*At one point (before the release of ''Half-Blood Prince''), many ] YTMNDs were being created by one user, usually consisting of nothing more than an image of Harry Potter. However, this fad sparked a backlash, and people started to post YTMNDs insulting the most prolific Harry Potter site creator, known as Cage. Within a couple days, all of Cage's sites were deleted.
*Pictures of the FBI, SWAT team or other covert and/or tactical law enforcement agencies accompanied with the text "BRB FBI." This fad grew from the forum and the repeated threats of FBI involvement against its users made in reprisal for raids on Natalee Holloway sites.
*Brian Peppers, a sex offender in Ohio with an abnormal appearance, due to a disease linked to ].
*Pictures of plane, train, automobile and boat crashes called "Great Moments in _____ History." These are set to a music clip from Gorillaz' "Feel Good, Inc." - in particular, the line, "watch the way I navigate - ha ha ha ha ha!"
*Summoning a fire spirit (The music from The '']'' trailer that is associated with the fad also became a fad of its own. The music is originally from the movie ].)
*A picture from an ] comic showing the wheelchair bound ] getting pushed down the stairs by ], declaring stairs as Professor X's only weakness.
*An animation of an Asian man appearing to spin in the air like a helicopter. This is referred to as "AsiaCopter" or "AzNCopter". These clips are frequently accompanied by an orchestrated version of the '']'' airship theme ''Highwind Takes to the Skies'', or songs about spinning.
*An animated GIF of a girl showing her breasts to a ] when her father walks in the room.
*A hypothetical fight created from GoogleFight, usually to show who would win by most popular vote. Often, fights created on GoogleFight are between two popular fads. ]
*The infamous "]" ] popularized by ].
*]'s new chicken fries from the commercial with ].
*Parodies of the ] usually accompanied to "Rock You Like A Hurricane" by ]
