==Future==
The facilities at The Hard interchange are somewhat dated and in need of upgrading to compliment the nearby Gunwharf Quays. This area could also become a more important focus if development proposals within the Historic Dockyard Heritage Area progress. Improvements could be provided directly or via enabling development, and could take the form of either refurbishment or redevelopment. The area offers the opportunity for a comprehensive redevelopment scheme comprising not only public transport interchange facilities but also residential development above. The design of any such development must reflect or complement the characteristics of the conservation area and the historic environment of the Hard itself. Where reasonable and appropriate, it may be possible to seek to secure improvements to the Interchange through planning obligations in relation to new development in adjacent areas.
