I've been concerned about this user for some time, know you've had a run in with her in the past so lets' get down to the issues at hand. This user seems to have an issue with co-operation and has had spates of adding original research and for whatever reason adding the same phrase to various articles. Several times during her tenure here she's blanked her talkpage anytime someone told her something she didn't like or was given warnings. That in itself is not bad but the constant references to "I will work with others" seems to makes me think she takes ownership of all she edits and does not want to work with anyone else willingly, even going as far as asking for adminship to prevent anyone but herself editing an article . I can tell she's young but there's a history of this user being very incivil towards others and generally I don't think her attitude is something that should be tolerated even if it is a passive aggressive stance she's taken. Talk to her if you like but she's very unresponsive to others and I have no idea how much traction you'll get out of that if any. <font color="#94887C">]</font> <font color="#D2CDC6"><sub>]</sub></font> 11:09, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

As this is my first contribution, please let me know what was objectionable. As an attorney, I know the importance of footnoting, which I was trying to figure out how to do. I was simply trying to add recent facts about a newly national public figure - information that is not normally reported on a national level, only regional. I know this gentleman's page was shut down for apparent vandalism, but I am simply trying to add relevant and recent facts that would be of interest to any football fan. I sent this last night to the IRCAC page:
"Hi. I am so sorry. I made a mistake trying to update and correct. Now I have read all the pertinent information and I think I understand. I have been a long time fan, following the career of actress Juliet Landau. I had the pleasure of working with her as an extra on a Miss Juliet Production. I thought in saying I worked with her and giving the production company email, you would know that the info was accurate. When that backfired, I emailed from my personal email, explaining that I was a fan. I wrote the bio wanting there to be an appropriate page for Ms. Landau, reflecting the work she has done and with accurate facts."
I got a nice response from REDVERS, saying to do all the editing from Mjpbp and to abandon the Ircac account.
I have now read all of your comments and instructions... I am sorry for trying to sound official initially ( I thought if I sounded official, you would know the info was correct) and for creating confusion. I don't think I edited it correctly either, according to your procedures.
It is a good thing I didn't update the James Marsters page at the same time, as I was planning...
I'd appreciate if you could let me know what to do and how to proceed.

I would like to edit, now that I believe I understand how to do it properly. It says my page can not be found. Should I make the additions without having a page or are there steps for me to re-activate my page? As you can tell, I find this all a bit confusing.
I want to reiterate that I do not work for Juliet Landau, I did extra work and have literally only said hello to her. I thought I had to be a representative of the person in order to get the correct info posted. This was an error on my part and I am sorry. I don't want Ms. Landau and her page to be blocked from other editors etc, because of what I did.

Invitation to participate in a research

Hello,

The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Misplaced Pages, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.

You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.

The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

  • The Nuke feature also now provides links to the userpage of the user whose pages were deleted, and to the pages which were not selected for deletion, after page deletions are queued. This enables easier follow-up admin-actions.
