If your messages are rude, wandering or repetitive I will likely edit or delete them. If you want to leave such a message, put it on your talk page and leave me a note here & I'll go take a look.

The Gaur or the Indian Wild Ox is neither a Bison nor is it known as the Indian Bison. However, because of incorrect information found online such as this very wikipedia page, people have started to use incorrect nomenclature. My correction of the same would thereby amount to constructive change from the view point of many wilderness experts.
In general, I prefer to conduct my discussions in public. If you have a question for me, put it here (or on the article talk, or...) rather than via email. If you still prefer to send an email, use the link on my main user page. Sending me an email indicates your permission for me to publicly reveal the contents of that email without exception.
:{{re|Dhirkid}} Incorrect information exists here, no doubt. However, the Gaur is listed as the Indian Bison in the attached sources. If you have more reliable sources that say that is is more accurately called the Indian Wild Ox, include them with your revisions. The burden of evidence will fall on you if you want to revise cited facts. ] (]) 16:29, 3 September 2017 (UTC)

:I'm certainly not ''senior'' to anybody, but that never stopped me from chiming in with my opinion on something... If I'm understanding your question right, you're asking whether or not it would be appropriate to include, say, a subphyllum field on an article about a goldfish, then no, I think that general consensus is that such information would add unneeded clutter to a taxobox that already contains a lot of information. Since each of the ranks are wikilinked, a user can (and does, if I'm any gauge) click on the higher taxa to learn about those and that would be the appropriate place to discuss minor ranks. ] (]) 16:21, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

==Need help with tables==
{{tnull|helpme}}
I'm trying to cleanup the ] article and the next chore is tweaking the three huge tables that consume massive amounts of space in the article. I originally put those in there when I first started using wikipedia by using the excel to wikimarkup converter I found on some page somewhere and those monstrosities are what resulted. Now I'd like to format them to make them more aesthetically pleasing. My thoughts are to make them use much less white space and smaller font, which are things I can definitely manage. However, I've been beating my head against the wall for far too long trying to get the three tables to align vertically along the right edge of the article with the text of the article on the left side. I've played with align=right and float=right but I either get three tables all jumbled on top of each other, or the text of the paragraph appearing after a huge whitespace at the end of the tables. Note that the three tables will probably be longer than the section in which they first appear, which is "Comparison between white and black waters". Any table gurus feel like easing my burden and letting me get back to writing instead of programming? Thanks. ] (]) 05:31, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
:Have you tried aligning the first table left and then floating the next two centre and right respectively? It worked in my browser with the first table down the left hand side and the next two stacked on top of each other only slightly longer than Table 1. ] | ] 06:36, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
::I tried that, and saw what you were talking about, but it's not what I'm looking for in the article. I modified it again, and you can see what I'm ending up with... The first table is fine, with the text flowing to the left of the table. But I want tables 2 and 3 to be aligned below Table 1 along the right edge of the article as well, instead of mashing over the text. See what I mean? ] (]) 06:48, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
:::I played with it more and got the tables aligned on the right edge, but with a lot of whitespace, even at relatively low resolutions. ] (]) 07:21, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

::::if it's whitespace you're worried about, why not mke them collapsible and collapsed by adding class="collapsible collapsed" at the start? Also, you might find it beneficial to strip out the formatting and start from an unformatted table containing your data. Other than that, the full instruction sheet on tables is located ]. You might also want to ask at the ], as they generally tend to get more technical people responding there. Hope this helps, '''''<font color="green">]</font><font color="blue">]</font>'''''(<font color="black">]/])</font> 10:33, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

I opened an AFD on it. It seems to me to be a completely biased and slanderous article on a living person with very little notoriety. The majority of the references are linked to Youtube and a self-styled website of the same name. Guess we'll see how they feel on the AfD. Gaur

Hello Neil,

The Gaur or the Indian Wild Ox is neither a Bison nor is it known as the Indian Bison. However, because of incorrect information found online such as this very wikipedia page, people have started to use incorrect nomenclature. My correction of the same would thereby amount to constructive change from the view point of many wilderness experts.

@Dhirkid: Incorrect information exists here, no doubt. However, the Gaur is listed as the Indian Bison in the attached sources. If you have more reliable sources that say that is is more accurately called the Indian Wild Ox, include them with your revisions. The burden of evidence will fall on you if you want to revise cited facts. Neil916 (Talk) 16:29, 3 September 2017 (UTC)
