	In 1978 AGV USA, a division of Intersport, Inc. in Maryland became the official importer of AGV Helmets for the United States. In 1985 AGV SpA (AGV Helmets, Italy) assumed the distribution rights in the US t AGV Helmets and Intersport, Inc. was licensed the right to make apparel and other products excluding helmets worldwide bearing the AGV name and trademark. From 1985 to 1999 AGV Sports Group and AGV Helmets US office operated from the same offices and warehouse and utilized the name employees.

For a brief period in the early 1990’s AGV SpA owned approximately 50% of the shares of AGV Sports Group, Inc. but by 1995 full ownership reverted to Intersport, Inc.
