	Founded in 1985, AGV Sports Group is one of the oldest rider-owned and operated apparel companies in the motorcycle industry.

	AGV Sports Group was born in the early days of entry into the North American market. Today AGV helmets and AGV Sports Group are two completely autonomous companies, one Italian and one American, bound by a common history and the great heritage of the world and sport of motorcycle racing.
			In 1947 Gino Amisano created ]. (Amisano Gino Valenza), a helmet manufacturer in ]. In 1977 Michael Parrotte formed AGV USA after being granted the exclusive rights to distribute ] helmets in the ] market by Gino Amisano, the founder of ]. In 1985 ] licensed AGV Sport to design and produce apparel and other products, excluding helmets, bearing the ] name and trademark. The unique model of licensing the brand in different countries was the direct result of the original licensing agreement between AGV SpA and AGV Sports Group. By the early 1990s the AGVSPORT logo had replaced the AGV logo on most apparel for aesthetics reasons due to the different graphic requirements of apparel from helmets. 			In 2017 AGVSPORT America LLC purchased the rights for the AGVSPORT brand in the United States from AGV Sports Group, Inc. AGVSPORT America, LLC is a newly formed company with headquarters in the Dallas, Texas area.
	In 1978 AGV USA, a division of Intersport, Inc. located in Maryland became the official importer of AGV Helmets for the United States. In 1985 AGV SpA (, Italy)
	assumed the distribution rights in the US. Intersport, Inc. was licensed the right to make apparel and other products excluding helmets worldwide bearing the AGV name and trademark. By the early 1990s the AGVSPORT brand was being used on must apparel for aesthetics reasons due to the different graphic requirements of apparel from helmets.
