::I don't think you should be out to blame this page for the fact that the Pacers don't have a page, as you are seeking to do. It requires someone to want to write the page for it to be created. If it concerns you so much that they don't and the 42ers do, may i suggest you write a page for them yourself. I might also add that there are no COI concerns for this page any more, this has been resolved, and the sources used are from a published newspaper, so i doubt very much this user needs any of these explained to him. I'm sure you could name plenty of other articles that could be formed, and if there is sufficient sources in newspapers etc why should they not be formed? Obviously they must hold some general interest and notability to the population of their areas, and with an encyclopedia of limitless space such as wikipedia, this should be more than enough criteria for each to gain entry. The 42ers have a page written because someone bothered to write the page. There may very well be countless other articles that could be formed similar to that of the 42ers, but remember it takes more than sources and notability for a page to be created - someone actually has to write it, and for the 42ers basketball team, someone actually has. Don't blame this page for the fact that others aren't written yet. ] (]) 07:34, 11 June 2009 (UTC) ::I don't think you should be out to blame this page for the fact that the Pacers don't have a page, as you are seeking to do. This nom really concerns me. This editor has been nothing if not civil, and bold, and to have his first efforts deleted outright would only serve to discourage a potentially valuable contributor; we need all the quality editors we can get. If this gets deleted I might just consider Misplaced Pages:Deletion review. -- œ 21:22, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

And I have not been nothing but civil and bold in making this nomination. -- Sk8er5000 (talk) 09:07, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
Oh it's nothing personal against you, please don't take it that way. This isn't just some typical inclusionist rant about keeping non-notable stuff, I'm just concerned for the editor in this case.. for the good of the encyclopedia. And in the spirit of WP:IAR I think we should make an exception in this case because like I said.. this is no different than a high school article in terms of notability, and we all know what Jimbo says about high school articles. I for one happen to agree with him. -- œ 00:59, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
I fully appreciatte that the editor here might not like us (if we delete), but I don't for one believe that WP:IAR should be involked, the editor, however, should have just WP:ADOPT shown to him, and a full explaniation of WP:COI, WP:RS, and WP:NOTE explained to him. By extention of this, Latrobe City Pacers does not have a article yet, and that team is in the state league (based in the Moe area). Also, if this AfD passes in the keep nature, we could be setting a precedent that all small teams that have articles in newspapers could have Misplaced Pages entries. I could, for one, name about 20 articles that could be formed, should we start allowing every small start-up football/basketball/any other sporting club on Misplaced Pages. -- Sk8er5000 (talk) 03:37, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
I don't think you should be out to blame this page for the fact that the Pacers don't have a page, as you are seeking to do. It requires someone to want to write the page for it to be created. If it concerns you so much that they don't and the 42ers do, may i suggest you write a page for them yourself. I might also add that there are no COI concerns for this page any more, this has been resolved, and the sources used are from a published newspaper, so i doubt very much this user needs any of these explained to him, or judging by the quality of the article, needs to be 'adopted'. I'm sure you can name plenty of other articles that could be formed (well done to you), and if there is sufficient sources in newspapers etc why should they not be formed? Obviously they must hold some general interest and notability to the population of their areas, and with an encyclopedia of limitless space such as wikipedia, this should be more than enough criteria for each to gain entry. The 42ers have a page written because someone bothered to write the page. There may very well be countless other articles that could be formed similar to that of the 42ers, but remember it takes more than sources and notability for a page to be created - someone actually has to write it, and for the 42ers basketball team, someone actually has. Don't blame this page for the fact that others aren't written yet. Bruce01 (talk) 07:34, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
