This is not the place to promote the Greek national cause - or any other. If you want to do that, start a blog; they're cheap. It is preferable, indeed, to avoid editing or discussing oneself, one's home town, or one's own country, except for the least controversial of edits. :Interesting. Following your logic we may have to ban the Americans from editing U.S. related topics, the Brits from editing British topics etc. etc. We also have to ban the Russians from editing their own country's topics as well as the Western-world related topics including, but not linited to, U.S. topics. At the same time all the friendly countries to the US are not eligible because they have a friendly POV to the US. Same goes for the enemies. That leaves very few editors to edit anything. It is also interesting that the policy you quote, ], mentions nothing about editing one's own country as being perceived as a conflict of interest. ] ] 21:53, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

::Actually, Xenovatis' edits fit neatly under the section on Campaigning; so of course do all too many Americans, Britons, Russians and so forth. They should ''all'' desist.

:::Campaigning? Lol. That was funny. As far as Socrates, the article mentions him as one of the six sages who may have uttered it first. But that doesn't mean I am taking any sides. I don't have a strong opinion on this matter. ] ] 23:50, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

:::::I have expressed my objection imperfectly, I admit; will Xenovatis admit as much? But X's post denied any connection with Delphi, which the ''Charmides'' expressly asserts. ] ] 14:13, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
::::::I would admit to that yes. Now let's put this sad affair behind shall we? I believe we can cooperate to solve our disagreement on the Parthenon marbles issue and hopefully improve the Names article to being presentable again.--] (]) 15:33, 10 July 2009 (UTC) |
