That kind of data is not encyclopedic and doesn't belong in an article about a given SF con. There are a lot of mundanes out there who would love to see all fandom-related articles deleted; the last thing we need to do is to provide fodder for their arguments by padding articles with trivial detail about what's on the program at a given con (which changes every year anyway. (When was the last con you went to that had a banquet, once a fixture of convention programming?) Concentrate on providing evidence (preferably from the mundane press, or at least sources known to mundanes like Locus) to prove notability. --Orange Mike | Talk 16:34, 2 October 2009 (UTC)

The article needs more substantial, encyclopedic content. Examples would be information derived from articles in reliable sources explaining its history (putting it into a context as part of the history of SF and fandom, etc.) or stating what role Balticon plays in SF culture in the Mid-Atlantic states. This is a reference work, not a con-goer's directory. Look at Google Books, Google Scholar, Google News, etc. for relevant information. --Orange Mike | Talk 17:19, 2 October 2009 (UTC)

I won't remove it myself, at least at this time, but the photo of the Klingons has to go for the same reasons Mike cited above. Yes, costuming is part of Balticon but often when I mention science fiction conventions I quickly add the sort of thing I have on my Misplaced Pages page: "Please note that SF conventions aren't about groupies, people in Spock ears, or most of the stereotypes."

A quick search for images comes up with David Louis Edelman's Balticon Dealers Room and I'm certain he'll give me permission to use it. The one disadvantage is that it makes Balticon look as if it's all about books, which it isn't. So another, and perhaps best, option would be the cover of one of the program books. I quite agree with you that this page reveals a biased narrow anti-bioidentical opinion which mirrors interests and reflects the consensus of the synthetic drug industry. As such, the page, as written, is an embarassment to the concept of neutrality espoused by wikipedia. Readers are educated and see through it. If you are interested in developing concensus on this please, contact me. I think the timing is good for a major change.

Peggy Rae

Hi Riverpa
I noticed Michael Walsh has a Wiki page, so I linked it on the World Fantasy Convention wiki page. Peggy Rae, however, has no page of her own.
She is mentioned in 10 wiki articles, both as Pavlat and Sapienza. I don't know her history well enough to write a page for her, so I thought you might wish to shop the idea around. :-)
