Holland Landing Public School first opened in 1879 in a frame building on Peter Street. After the building was destroyed by fire on January 8, 1912, school was held in the town hall and then in a new one-room school, which had expanded to two rooms by 1930. | |||
The school building was renovated in 1950 to add several more classrooms. During that decade several rooms in the basement were also turned into classrooms. | |||
By the mid 1960s, the school was facing overcrowding for several reasons, including the closure of ]. | |||
By 1979, the school had become run down, and a new Holland Landing Public School was constructed at 16 Holland River Boulevard. | |||

This school has many extra curricular activities, such as track and field, cross country, soccer, basketball, arts and crafts, chess, volleyball, cheerleading, and a student committee, school beautification, and instrumental music.
