| Hi, here's how I fixed the element box: a look at ] reveals that the elementbox is not coded directly on the page, but uses ]. That template, in turn, uses another template to format the box, ]. Digging into the innards of the Elementbox template shows that it only implemented one set of parameters for the boiling point, as opposed to the three for the melting point. So it was just a matter of making another copy of the boiling point parameters and renaming them appropriately (suffixing "2"). You can look at the history of ] to see what I did. I did have to make one ugly hack to avoid the use of #expr, since that wouldn't let me write "(red)" to indicate the allotrope in the parameters, since that wouldn't parse as a number. So the Celsius value has to be hand-calculated (not too big an annoyance, the same thing is being done for the melting point parameters). | |||

| Yeah, I agree that we also need to be looking at what articles get the most traffic and improving them. Unfortunately given the way people are they generally tend to always be on popular culture, sex and a lot of topics that most traditional encyclopedias wouldn't have. You probably don't know but I have been expanding the ] article, so it is not as if I am stuck in obscuredom all the time! This article gets 6,000 odd hits a day so in a week it will have been viewed by 42,000 people. But sticking to fully expanding other articles which may get a lot of hits but don't interest me, paid editing might get me to do it... TThis is the reason though why we still have truck loads of stubs about world topics outside the "popular" zone because there just arne't enough people interested in them to expand them. To date wikipedia has relied on the contributions of a few individuals who are interested in seemingly obscure countries and topics and they do the brunt of the work in expansion, but for it to all be a big success, quality, we really need more numbers. BUt I am in the frame of mind that if the articles which get a lot of traffic and are cared for by a lot of people then they don't need me hanging on to them and I should be doing my best to try to even up coverage elsewhere... I just try to give wikipedia information about parts of the world they otherwise would not know about, as much as for myself than anybody else. I personally would like to know more about rural counties in say Tibet or Ghana or something than reading about some all-star American baseball pitcher or sitcom star... Yeah its balancing what is personally fun to ''you'' and what interest you and doing it in a way which maximises interest and benefit to others. Everybody is different, so it is not always easy to assess what or what not is useful to others, but I have actually had many emails from people in places like Nepal, Guatemala, Slovenia and all over the world who have said they are grateful for my work on their part of the world which has given them a chance to expand on what I have started so even if the majority of readers couldn't give a damn about ] for instance, I am sure that some people somewhere who are going to northern Indian on a trip or are interested in Tibetan Buddhism will be very grateful to have an article about it or just those who like browsing and learning about any topic!. The problem is catering for all interests and possibilities and maintaining quality. Personally from my viewpoint I think the work I do adds to the interest and depth of wikipedia even if ]. If there is a particular article you'd like to see expanded on a core topic like a major river etc please let me know, I'll be glad to help! I'd be happy to help you expand some articles on earth science/geology etc, it is a shame there aren't more interested in it because these are the real topics we should be covering!! If you have a moment...
could you perhaps look into what has gone on at the Enneagram of Personality page today, primarily in its History section? (Asking because in an earlier season, I was impressed by your work in various contexts.) We believe that the carte blanche reversion was too easy of a response, and threw baby out with the bath. We have no opinion on larger matters at that article—we simply found gross misuse of sources, and rampant WP:OR. We are now accused of editorialising, and of OR ourselves, which simply staggers us.
We won't further egage the reverting editor, as we see no point. But the article is not better for having been returned to its earlier state.
It is our view that the original edit, which was accepted by a registered editor—the article is protected, we do not know whom—should have been allowed to stand, and not reverted by a single editor objecting to the two of us. We suspect bias against us as a non-registered editor.
Surely, some editing of the product should follow. But reversion, so the errors that existed before our edit be returned—we suggest that pursuing that course was the poorest of options, for the sake of a quality article. Speedy deletion nomination of Sizo

IPv6 disruption at Talk:Datta dynasty
Hi, Material, merry Christmas! Could you maybe do a rangeblock that covers the IPv6's at Talk:Datta dynasty? It's getting ridiculous, and I started listing the /64's that would be needed to stop it (since that is the limit of my understanding of IPv6 ranges), but gave up. Perhaps a long page-block of a much bigger range would be the best? Bishonen | tålk 04:01, 24 December 2024 (UTC).

Editor misusing dashes dismissive of requests to learn
Hello. I have been attempting to get Kencf0618 on board with our Manual of Style guidance regarding the use of dashes for 3 weeks now, and no matter how many times they tell me they're "chagrined" (1st and 2nd thread), they continue to misuse them and even replace good dashes with bad ones. I have asked nicely, asked less nicely and issued a direct warning that their continued misuse effectively constitutes vandalism (willfully editing contrary to consensus), but checking if the "sorry" in response to my final warning had meant anything useful, I found it had not. A week after first discussing this with them, and being told that they'd fix their previous errors, I regex searched for their most common pattern, and put a decent amount of time into correcting the many I found, but I was playing catch-up. I won't follow this editor around indefinitely fixing every case, so they need to be stopped, but I also recognise that this ignorance isn't blatantly malicious (they do enjoy inserting inappropriate flowery phrases here and there though, when plain English would have been obviously preferable) and they just need to be put straight by someone with some clout, since my efforts have fallen on deaf ears. 2600:4809:7270:F800::/64 removing pronunciations
Hi, yesterday you warned 2600:4809:7270:F800:B974:A7C9:5E41:9A03 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) that they would be blocked the next time they removed content. They have ignored that warning and continue to remove pronunciations, some of them obviously necessary like Gervis. Today's batch of edits are under the IP 2600:4809:7270:F800:F083:671:4921:D5B8 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log). Old page move
Good day Materialscientist! Back in 2021, you moved Oshana Region to Oshana, undoing a 2009 page move. I cannot find any discussion about this. I would like to undo this, as a) all other regions of Namibia end in "Region", b) its name is so defined by the Government of Namibia, and c) "Oshana" means something on its own: it is a shallow flood plain after which the region is named.
