'''Palm Desert Charter Middle School''' ('''PDCMS''') is a middle school in ], ] in the ]. It is part of the ] and a ] with parental involvement in the school's administration. The school had about 1000 students in the years 2008-09. The school's mascot is Peppy the ]. The school's first year was 1978 as a closer Junior High school for students living in the then "rural" communities of Palm Desert and ] instead of going to ] (] and ] schools, but WMS was decommissioned). Almost all PDMS students go on to ], although a few attend alternative independent studies in Summit High school.

== Electives ==
There are many electives offered at PDCMS such as ASB (Associated Student Body) which assists in school activities and manages the school's recycling program. In Renaissance, students organize pep rallies and other school events. Additional electives are Fashion Design, Yearbook, Digital Photography, Junior Master Gardener, Foods, Spanish, French, Robotics, and '''Advanced Robotics'''.

Band is made up of five groups: Cadet, Concert, Marching,Jazz, and panther band. Cadet band allows students to learn instruments, Concert band is one step above. Jazz students play at pep rallies and fundraisers. Marching band travels throughout California, performing in parades and winning awards because they are the most elite and best at the school!

The PDCMS Shared Support Agreement (SSA) is agreed to and signed by the student, parent/guardian, and staff/teacher. The SSA outlines responsibilities of each party during the student's enrollment
