MagnaGuards serve ] as bodyguards and soldiers. They are trained to match the style of combat of the person or creature they are fighting against. The MagnaGuards were originally programmed with knowledge of a huge variety of lethal combat styles. However, General Grievous had their memories wiped and instead trained them personally. Their main weapon is an ], but their back also conceals a dual missile launcher. Grievous frequently spars against these fearsome droids for lightsaber training. These elite warriors were not cheap though, in fact they effectively bankrupted the ] to produce. There are four models of MagnaGuard. General Grievous, under the orders of the mysterious ], used several MagnaGuards in his kipnapping of Supreme Chancellor ] just before the end of ]. Two of them dueled with Jedi Master ] but were defeated by the powerful Jedi. Later, several MagnaGuards helped Grievous dispose of ]'s ]. Two survived the battle on Coruscant and dueled with ] and ] on the ], but these too were defeated. Later, four MagnaGuards tried to attack Master ] on ], but were dispatched with a falling metal container. |
