Please note that your addition of Adventist Category to the Jaja Wachuku article is wrong. Jaja Wachuku was not a Seventh-day Adventist Christian. He was a Christian of the Anglican Church; and was honoured as a Knight of Saint Christopher by the Anglican Communion in Aba, Abia State Nigeria. However, Jaja Wachuku's nephew and author: Ugonna Wachuku is a Seventh-day Adventist in Geneva Switzerland. Václav Havel as Category:Roman Catholic politicians

: I'd removed this category. Whether Havel is member of RC church is not widely known and it is also practically irelevant in the Czech Republic. He is not member or supporter of a political party with ties to RC (or any other) church. Churches in Windsor

I have proposed this category and all of its contents for deletion; I think this falls under "Misplaced Pages is not a directory" and also fails notability. I have also proposed some (although not nearly all) of the other Windsor-related articles - the articles on the Hilton and the Radisson, for instance - for similar reasons. If you disagree, feel free to remove my "prod" tags and try to improve the articles or argue that they are fine as they are, on the articles' talk pages. (Although, frankly, I can't see how a Hilton or a generic neighborhood church would merit an encyclopedia article.) Brianyoumans 02:17, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

Citation

Thanks for adding the category to Julianne Moore. We generally prefer citations to be left in the article itself, though that's a little difficult here. Please see this edit where I added the citation as a comment. This particular claim is reliable (see WP:RS) but I have not checked the rest of that site to see if all claims are cited as well as that one is. A claim on that website that is not supported would not be acceptable on the Misplaced Pages. It is quite likely all are as well supported, however. Dianne Haskett

Yes, Dianne Haskett left the Metropolitan United Church in London, Ontario, several years ago (not surprising, given the United Church's evolving liberal stand on same-sex marriage etc.) and now worships at an Evangelical Gosepl Temple. From Slackbuie

Just thought I'd try to answer your question about Apostolic succession in the Church of Scotland here, instead of on the Christian Denominations page. Briefly- in our polity Presbyteries have the role of oversight which in other churches is taken by Bishops. At ordinations, ministers who are members of Presbytery lay hands on the candidate being ordained (a bit of a crowd sometimes!). This is not apostolic succession in the Anglican sense, but it does represent a continuity of faith, so that although we don't often speak about Apostolic Succession in Presbyterian circles, it is possible to maintain that we have a form of Apostolic Succession without bishops. Freemsonry question

Feel free to add someone, but be aware of two big criteria for inclusion:

1. Since this is an encyclopedia, we need some degree of notability.
2. Additions should be backed by a reliable source.

We used to have a category, but it was deleted by CfD. This seems to be part of a general movement to cut back on over-categorization... some articles are getting rediculous with the subject listed in hundreds of categories, and categories being created for every interest group and POV. I think there is some discussion of this in the archives at the List. We also talked about it at the Freemasonry project... see: Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Freemasonry#Category:Freemasons

Dalton McGuinty's religion

Hello, the reason I am removing religion from infoboxes of politicians is that their religious beliefs do not bear on their notability as persons. These people have Misplaced Pages articles because they are/were politicians, not because they attended a particular church. I leave it in place if they are connected to a religion through a secondary profession as is the case of Dennis Drainville or Derwyn Shea.

I am not following any particular policy except that, in my opinion, noting the religion of a politician may bias the articles for some readers. Politics and religion do not mix particularly well and just because it is a line in the infobox does not mean that is has to be filled in. It may be worth noting if the politician have themselves used their religious belief as a motivating factor in their political actions. This is not the same as beliefs on socially prominent topics such as same-sex marriage or abortion which do have a political character. From reading the McGuinty article I don't see how not knowing what church he goes to affects the content of the article. If you think noting his religious belief is worth keeping in the article I'd appreciate hearing your position. EncyclopediaUpdaticus (talk) 20:44, 8 June 2015 (UTC)
