== Henmaru Machino ==

"Homework project" is right - as someone with a minimal understanding of Japanese, it's been very hard for me to find much info on Machino. My strategy for getting the page up was basically to cram as much information as I could onto it and hope someone else had a better knowledge of his work than I. 1969? Aomori prefecture? You seem to know your stuff - thanks for your help in getting some form of English-language reference up! - ] 00:37, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

:I must confess to having just hurriedly copied over a few things from the ja.wikip article, didn't even (gasp) do the normal fact check on them. Anyway, my (not so) secret goal for a year or so has been to write a good ] article (don't click! I must force myself to turn my notes into something useful) - but what I've mostly done is make minor edits to vaguely related things. Anyway... part of the reason for wanting to do it is that all the manga/etc related articles are uniformly poor, which can probably be blamed at least in part on the fact all decent resources are in print, in Japan, and in Japanese.
:Machino poses an additional difficulty, in that he seems to work largely within the confines of fringe pornography, bar some stuff for Murakami's Hiropon Factory - so a superflat critical perspective is probably the only one on offer. There are some resources listed on the ] page that might prove useful to you for that though. --] 01:52, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads up. I suppose the SH trivia fiasco is all my fault. I wrote a paper on the subject and catalogued most of the 'references' in the SH1 page and it seemed to spread from there. But I'm glad to see that it turned into something that is still informative yet not as garbled. Good job. --] 03:42, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
:Thanks for the suggestion on the artist, can't say I've heard of him. I only just glanced at the page so far, but it looks interesting. Some of the works are clearly inspired by Eastern influences while drawing directly from Western ones. I'm gonig to take a better look when I'm not at work. :P As for your question about my bass influences, let's just say I listen to a lot of reggae and ska. This is my preferred bass style as it gives bass players something to do other than follow the guitar around. I added my musical influences to my user page if you're intersted. I really don't know what to do with my user page so I just keep adding links to stuff that interest me so others can learn more about said subjects. Anywho, I'll prolly see you around on the SH influences page. Cheers. --] 16:19, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

Please participate in the talk page discussion regarding the parenthetical comment "the only examples of total ] of steel-framed structures in history" in this article's lead. Thanks. ] (]) 20:17, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
:Please find a source for this: as has been previously noted on the talk page, "steel buildings" collapse regularly as a result of fire due to steel's poor performance in fire. Steel-framed skyscrapers or tall buildings are a subset of steel buildings, which might be more nearly the mark, but you'll still need a citation.
