You repeatly said that in Teen Titans there was no mention of Jason Todd,I checked and took a photo and there it was I was right as I said when Beast Boy was figuring out the identity of Red X he pulls a chart there are many robins and even Nightwing and if you look closely there it is the name of JASON TODD.
So the question remains how can I send the photo proving in what was saying?

Hello JS. I am in the process of adding references to the tables on this page, I noticed on the talk page that you had posted saying you were going to cull unsourced statements from them. Did you ever wind up doing so? I only ask because almost all of the info in the tables is checking out (with minor changes here and there), so if you deleted anything I'm happy to check if it can be sourced and reposted. All the best. ] (]) 18:33, 7 February 2021 (UTC)
== Characters in A Song of Ice and Fire ==
:Hi {{u|Boynamedsue}}, and thanks for coming here to my talk page. Could I trouble you to link the sources that have been added to the table that verify the information contained therein? I am really glad that you checked the data, but I am sure you don't want to have to do that for every single person who questions that data. Providing a source disconnects you from that task, as the reader can go directly to the linked source of that info to do their own verification. I hope that addressed your concerns, but if not, please provide me with more detail (ie. links) that illustrate your concern. I am eager to work with you to clarify any issues and improve the article. - ] (]) 21:20, 7 February 2021 (UTC)
::Hi, yeah, I've been checking and linking on the table as I go. If you go to the revision history you will see a series of edits by me, mostly containing a language name plus "refs". Do you want me to link them to the talk page as well? --] (]) 08:24, 8 February 2021 (UTC)
:::{{u|Boynamedsue}}, I think linking it to the discussion page would be best, so that others with an interest in the page could participate as well. As an aside, I am flabbergasted as to just how many languages there are out there, and how many of them are going extinct. Its kinda sad, really. I wish there was a museum that collected all of these languages and had a common 'Rosetta stone,' like the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, translated into each language. Wouldn't that be a fine thing? - ] (]) 13:35, 8 February 2021 (UTC)
::::Yes, a museum of world languages would be excellent, perhaps even a UN agency for the protection of linguistic rights? The collapse of the world's linguistic diversity is truly shocking, it is also happening within those languages that survive, traditional forms of languages disappear and new forms strongly influenced by national languages replace them. ] (]) 15:22, 8 February 2021 (UTC)

== Babylon's Ashes ==
Hi there. First of all, please notice that you reverted my revert. Per ], you should have taken in to the talk page instead. Then: Sources do not have to be accessible for anyone, it's sufficient that people can access them. Whether it's hard to do so or not is irrelevant (otherwise, we couldn't use specialty books or old magazines or similar sources). See ]. The work of fiction itself is a primary source to verify its plot but per ], such sources are fine for details that anyone with access to the work can easily verify for themselves, such as the ] being human. As such, a "citation needed" tag is not required on this detail. Please undo your edit and, if you think there is reason to ignore the policies and guidelines I just mentioned, make your case on the talk page first. Regards ''']]''' 21:04, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
:You are dancing around the main issue, SoWhy, which is unfortunate, because the problem contains the solution. If any information is challenged in an article, it must be cited or removed. There is no source for it, and trusting some person who claims it is in there is like playing Keno - this statement about Dr. Who being described as a human ''requires'' citation, not just primary observation by a contributor.
:Secondly, note that before you suggest I improperly followed, BRD, you could just as easily have followed it as well, going to the talk page to hash it out before reverting it. I completely understand that anions are often like drive-by Alzheimers patients, making an edit and forgetting about it immediately after having made it, but I think that in this case, the call for citation was a good one.
:Lastly, I apologize if you misunderstood my edit summary, which in retrospect was written poorly. It is my feeling that challenged information ''must'' be cited, as the regular user might read it and take it as either gospel truth or as ultimate proof that we at Misplaced Pages are opining fascists, pushing our personal views. With citation, it isn't us saying it, it is the cited reference. And yes, I know it is a plot point in another article. We do not cite other wiki articles, and playing the plot allowance card is the slipperiest of slopes into uncited articles making their into being. - ] (]) 04:00, 9 June 2011 (UTC)

==Re: ''The Lover Speaks'' infobox album imagery==
== Emphasis ==
Jack Sebastian, I'm not sure why you think my edit was confrontational as that was not the intention in any shape or form. I did not think the new image was likely to cause any upset so did not see any reason why I would need to gain consensus on the talk page. I'm also confused as to why you're unsure as to what I'm "aiming to do". The original image of the LP cover was uploaded in 2009 and at the time there was no separate page for album. I don't see why it's necessary to include the album's cover art on both pages, and seeing that any photo included on the main artist page will be non-free anyway, would it not make more sense to actually illustrate the duo on their biography page and the album cover on the album page? (Edit: I've posted on the talk page now for others' inputs). ] (]) 20:21, 24 February 2022 (UTC)

(moving this here where it belongs. Lets not do this on the article talk page as it is a distraction.) ''"I think the 'I'll humor dissent here' was a bit bitey"''...That's your perspective, and hardly on topic at that, so what I will point out to you is that even mentioning that kind of thing here, as opposed to my talk page, is very concerning. :It is usual to address user-shaped issues (as opposed to content-related) on the talk page of the person who added the problematic post, but since it wasn't directed at one specific person, but a point of view espoused by others - and therefore toxic to the idea of collaborative editing - you erred in bringing it to my page. :That said, each editor is differently-tempered, and I apologize if my comment seemed unfair. Got questions?
post any new questions by starting a new section below. Before posting, understand the following:
  1. If it isn't cited, it doesn't belong in an encyclopedia; don't even bother arguing it with me about it.
  2. I am a a follower of Conan the Grammarian: if it's bad writing, I am going to correct it or kill it.
  3. I am polite and appreciate politeness in turn. If you act unpleasantly, I'll ignore you and probably report you.
  4. If you and I have arrived at the point where I have to ask ask you to not post on my usertalk page, please respect that request and stop. If you don't, I'll simply delete it report and subsequently ignore you.
  5. I like butterscotch; oddly enough, I also like butter and scotch. Funny how that worked out. In any case, I don't know how that matters here, but I'm just throwing that out there, in case anyone wants to send me some.
  6. Ask yourself - before posting in a discussion page - are you putting out the very best version of you? Would your loved ones be proud of what you are posting? If not, reconsider before hitting that 'publish changes' button.

You personal attack at talk:Kyiv#Threaded discussion

Your comments don’t belong here. Please strike them. —Michael Z. 23:44, 30 September 2020 (UTC)

Hi, and thank you for visiting my user talk page. Might I ask what personal attacks you are referring to? And for the record, are you using your Michael name, or @Mzajac: name? Its rather confusing. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 00:57, 1 October 2020 (UTC)

The Boys's Stormfront

In regards to Stormfront of The Boys, I'm not going to dispute your edits since you made a good point and provided proper sourcing. However, I feel as though I should let User:Bluerules know about this since they have been changing that back and forth over the course of most of season two's run and I want to give them a chance to weigh in on this topic as well if they want. Blazewing16 (talk)

@Blazewing16:, thanks for your message. I have no problem with you letting @Bluerules: know about the matter, though I suspect the article is in their Watchlist (and I've tagged them here). I think that subsequent conversation should take place in the article discussion, as its more of a content issue than a user issue. Would you agree with that assessment? - Jack Sebastian (talk) 07:41, 12 October 2020 (UTC)
I do. It's just that due to past personal experience, the article talk pages usually don't see much action unless specific users are tagged. Blazewing16 (talk) 07:55, 12 October 2020 (UTC)
That seems a fair statement, @Blazewing16:. :) - Jack Sebastian (talk) 17:17, 12 October 2020 (UTC)

Language Isolate

Boynamedsue (talk) 18:33, 7 February 2021 (UTC)

Hi Boynamedsue, and thanks for coming here to my talk page. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 21:20, 7 February 2021 (UTC)
Hi, yeah, I've been checking and linking on the table as I go. If you go to the revision history you will see a series of edits by me, mostly containing a language name plus "refs". Do you want me to link them to the talk page as well? --Boynamedsue (talk) 08:24, 8 February 2021 (UTC)
Boynamedsue, I think linking it to the discussion page would be best, so that others with an interest in the page could participate as well. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 13:35, 8 February 2021 (UTC)
Yes, a museum of world languages would be excellent, perhaps even a UN agency for the protection of linguistic rights? The collapse of the world's linguistic diversity is truly shocking, it is also happening within those languages that survive, traditional forms of languages disappear and new forms strongly influenced by national languages replace them. DYK for Babylon's Ashes (The Expanse)

On 1 February 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Babylon's Ashes (The Expanse), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that characters from several different science fiction media appear as an Easter egg in the episode "Babylon's Ashes"? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Babylon's Ashes (The Expanse). You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Babylon's Ashes (The Expanse)), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Re: The Lover Speaks infobox album imagery

Ajsmith141 (talk) 20:21, 24 February 2022 (UTC)

Thanks for the follow-up message, that's no problem, no harm done! Ajsmith141 (talk) 16:34, 25 February 2022 (UTC)

Hi Jack Sebastian, after reading and understanding 1-6 I want to say here, that I did not understand your post on the discussion page of Green Lantern. Please help me - I really want to know what you mean. Thanks and stay in touch Qwertzu111111 (talk) 15:57, 10 April 2022 (UTC)

Please do not change other editors signatures or comments

- Per WP:TPO, do not change comments or signatures by other editors. Please fix this before you continue the discussion there. DN (talk) 02:09, 19 June 2022 (UTC)

@Darknipples:I am always going to add indent marks, to better distinguish between contributor comments. Neither your comments nor your signature was altered in any way. In fact, I made it easier for others to see your comments. You're welcome. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 05:23, 20 June 2022 (UTC)
Hi Jack, Did you even look at the edit you made here ? You altered my signature (perhaps by accident). AFAIK that is not allowed. I brought it to your attention instead of reverting it myself. Please double check this. Cheers. DN (talk) 18:02, 20 June 2022 (UTC)
Omigosh @Darknipples:, I didn't realize that I had done that. Please accept my apology and know that it was not intentional. I was only trying to fix the indent scheme, not screw up your post. Feel free to do what you need to fix it with my blessing; just retain the indent structure, please. - Jack Sebastian (talk) 23:08, 20 June 2022 (UTC)

Dixiecrat

(moving this here where it belongs. Lets not do this on the article talk page as it is a distraction.) "I think the 'I'll humor dissent here' was a bit bitey"...That's your perspective, and hardly on topic at that, so what I will point out to you is that even mentioning that kind of thing here, as opposed to my talk page, is very concerning. I will leave it at "I disagree" for now. Point one, your response here is not indicative of WP:AGF, making personal criticisms and playing the victim card doesn't work here, so I'll give you some time to consider that. Point 2, your revert is also not indicative of AGF, and you have presented no evidence or explanation to the contrary (edit) ONLY YOUR "OPINION". Point 3, explicit in-line citations are not required for inclusion of related topics in the info box AFAIK. Even so, I quoted the "overlap of white nationalism with white supremacy and racial segregation" which explains why this needs to be included and you seem to be ignoring that for some reason. I have other things to do IRL ATM, but I will happily continue this convo later. DN (talk) 02:06, 19 June 2022 (UTC) DN (talk) 03:01, 19 June 2022 (UTC)

It is usual to address user-shaped issues (as opposed to content-related) on the talk page of the person who added the problematic post, but since it wasn't directed at one specific person, but a point of view espoused by others - and therefore toxic to the idea of collaborative editing - you erred in bringing it to my page. I did in fact AGF; I gently pointed out how your comment wasn't very friendly instead of just posting it at AN:I.
That said, each editor is differently-tempered, and I apologize if my comment seemed unfair. If I note a problematic edit in the future (and of course, I am hoping that there isn't), I'll immediately draw attention to it on your talk page to seek either your intent or - in the worst case scenario - your self-reverting. Does that seem fair? - Jack Sebastian (talk) 16:41, 19 June 2022 (UTC)
Here's a second source . DN (talk) 01:33, 21 June 2022 (UTC)
I prefer strikes to self-reverting poor comments/replies of mine if I can help it. I do make mistakes from time to time, and I am not afraid of leaving them in the record as long as they are struck to show I have revised my position.DN (talk) 04:25, 21 June 2022 (UTC)

Replaceable non-free use File:1928-cell-phone-cropped.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:1928-cell-phone-cropped.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Misplaced Pages. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file's talk page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 5 September 2024 (UTC)

Chicago Meetup for Wikidata Day

Hello! This is User:Luiysia (IRL name is Kelly). My main interests are fashion, music, literature, and history. I am fairly new to Misplaced Pages editing and I found that there has been very little activity from the Chicago Misplaced Pages user group since 2020.

I'd like to host a casual meetup in Chicago to celebrate Wikidata Day on Saturday, October 26.

Proposed location is Engine Coffee in the Wicker Park/West Town area, at 11AM.

Here is the official meetup page, where you can add yourself as an attendee.

(If you would prefer not to see messages like this, go ahead and take yourself off this list.)

Hope to see you all there!

Invitation to participate in a research

Hello,

The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Misplaced Pages, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.

You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.

The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .

Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind Regards,

WMF Research Team

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:22, 19 November 2024 (UTC)
