At Age 18 Jim fell in love with Anne Daniels, whom he later married and in 1963, They had a son called Paul. A Year later, Anne was raped by Jim's boss Roger Bannon, which resulted in the conception of a daughter, Julie. Jim agreed to raise Julie as his own. During the vietnam war, Jim had a fling with a nurse named Maureen Donnelly, who bore him a son, Glen who did not appear until many years later. Jim and Anne had two more children, Scott in ] and ] in 1975, who Anne tragically died giving birth to.

], Anne's mother. who had always seen Jim more of a friend than a son, helped him through his grief and together they raised the children.

Jim had a series of brief relationships with Anna Rossi, Zoe Davis and Ruth Wilson.

As time went on Jim's children flew the coop. Julie went on to marry Philip Martin and move to the country, Paul moved two doors up when he became the manager of Lassister's and Lucy later went to boarding School.

Number 26 Ramsay Street became full once again, when Jim married Dr. Beverly Marshall on ] ], and her Nephew and Neice, Todd and Katie Landers moved in with them when their parents Bob and Annette had problems. Teenage Artist, Nick Page also moved in with them after his Grandmother became ill and later died.


Jim and Beverley's Marriage only lasted a few years. Beverley subsequently moved back to Perth. Todd stayed on with Jim while Katie had gone back home to Adelaide the previous year and Nick had moved to London.


Jim recieved the shock of his life when Long-lost son Glen Donelly showed up on his doorstep in ]. Paul initially grew jealous of Jim's closeness with Glen. This didn't last when Glen threatened to sue Paul while Falling of the roof while working on Christmas Day ].


Jim was devasted in ] when Todd died of a cardiac arrest in hospital after being hit by an oncoming van while crossing a busy freeway, to prevent his girlfiend Pheobe from aborting their baby. Jim delivered an Emotional Eulogy at Todd's funeral.


Jim himself, died a year later when he had a heart attack and collapsed on the kitchen floor of his home. Instead of phoning for an Ambulance, his then partner, Fiona Hartman, went to the bank to withdraw Jim's money, and put on an act when Julie and Rosemary discovered his body.


In his will, Jim left Helen a life tenancy on Number 26, and on her death, the house would go to Paul, Lucy, Scott and Glen who would inherit a quarter of the house. Julie was left Jim's share in Carpenter's cars.
