Untitled

The Bulgarian article on Stara Zagora seems to be in a bit of a mess at the moment, with a template at the top linking to What Misplaced Pages is not. However, there does appear to be a lot of useful information there. If anyone who sees this is able to translate that would be great. — Trilobite (Talk) 10:17, 28 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Please see WP:NOT. Misplaced Pages is not a link directory. If you can find GFDL pictures of Stara Zagora, great, add them to the page as a gallery. But don't spam your external link. CRCulver 14:32, 7 October 2006 (UTC)

I see in this page other links and they also included Photos from Stara Zagora. It is Gallery of Real Stara Zagora and discussion forum. And this is reality, not a fake fotos in other sites.

Biased wording

In the article I found sentences with jugdments: "Incredibly sadistically..." What does the map combining today's town structure with the ancient structure tell the reader? Boruy

I've just moved Battle of Boruy to "Battle of Beroia (1208)", as in Battle of Beroia. But I'm a little bit worried about the word "Boruy" because I can't find it anywhere here on enwiki. Was it a good move? José Luiz 00:56, 27 November 2013 (UTC)

I don't see any mistake. On the contrary, it brings a bit more consistency. It looks as though the names Boruy, Beroe, and Beroia were used simultaneously during that period. Hence, naming the battles the same way makes it clear that they actually took place near the same city. --Laveol 10:09, 27 November 2013 (UTC)

Looking at changes of the article, this change was probably copied from http://old.starazagora.bg/en/obschina-stara-zagora/brief-history which is dated earlier to 2010. Teemeah 07:12, 20 May 2016 (UTC)

Stara Zagora massacre

I really want to know who added the section where 48.000 men strong Turkish (or Ottoman) army unit massacred 14.000 Bulgarians. What link and where do you get this information? I know the destruction of the city by Ottomans but the massacre has never been confirmed. Who knows more about this? Non-sequitur at "John's Byzantine army"

The section starting with "John's Byzantine army, and many of the captives, were settled as foederati within the Byzantine frontier" seems to refer to some battle that is not described. It has nothing to do with the Gothic War of 377 CE. The first emperor named John did not reign for another 200 years.

I suspect this statement refers to the Battle of Beroia (1208) The confusion is between ancient Beroa in Thrace (modern Stara Zagora, Hungary) and ancient Beroa in Scythia Minor (modern Ostrov Romania) RMcPhillip (talk) 18:59, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
