*Silly edit war at ]; other editor has been referred repeatedly to ] where he does not engage, instead posting these edit remarks : "I've see the discussion at the Modern Lib. page and I think you're a crank -- please leave this alone, as I will continue to put this reference back in until we get the Sysops to moderate" and "i will keep putting this back in until you give up; what is your obsession with this matter? **on both templates, and probably on others, too, ] keeps reverting to a version with "edit buttons" he feels are deeply needed. I think these are completely useless and look bad. Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here. | ||
---|---|---|
Shortcuts
Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection) After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

Current requests for increase in protection level
Request protection of a page, or increasing the protection level Request protection ShortcutsPlace requests for new or upgrading of article protection, upload protection, or create protection at the BOTTOM of this section. Check the archive of fulfilled and denied requests or, failing that, the page history if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.
Ben Wilson (footballer, born 1992)
Temporary extended confirmed protection: Persistent disruptive editing – For months, incorrect edits have been made on page, to which I have reverted and updated properly. I have warned user each time, however the IP address changes slightly each time. This is highly disruptive as it means currently reverting approximately edits each week and then having to re-edit. These details can be found on history page. I am also requesting this protection for each Coventry City player for the near future. Telfordbuck (talk) 18:23, 5 January 2025 (UTC)
- for a week. Daniel Case (talk) 20:48, 5 January 2025 (UTC)
- Declined – Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection. Also, pages aren't protected preemptively. Are you referring to the right page, there haven't been any edits to this article since October? Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 10:47, 6 January 2025 (UTC)

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent sockpuppetry – Block evasion by User:Bigboss19923, same overemphasis on a murder case as led to the previous protection. Belbury (talk) 10:45, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
Ryujin (rapper)
Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – IP user won't stop vandalizing the article. Btspurplegalaxy 💬 🖊️ 11:29, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
- Declined – Warn the user appropriately then report them to AIV or ANI if they continue. Lectonar (talk) 11:51, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
Prabir Mitra
Semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – IP vandalism after his recent death. Niasoh ❯❯❯ Wanna chat? 12:44, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
- Declined I think this is moot now with his death being reliably sourced. Lectonar (talk) 13:20, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
Justin Trudeau
Reason: Some editors have been prematurely editing in that Trudeau is about to resign. To date, the prime minister hasn't made such an annoucement. GoodDay (talk) 12:51, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
- Already protected. Lectonar (talk) 13:19, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
- It didn't seem to work, as more editors made premature edits. GoodDay (talk) 13:56, 6 January 2025 (UTC)

Semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – just after being unprotected, the page (now linked on the frontpage) has become an endless magnet for IP vandalism. ser! 14:18, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
Jannik Sinner
Reason: Every time the months-long semi-protection gets lifted, the same single-purpose edit-warrior returns sooner or later (this time it took him 3 weeks). Today's disruptive edits by 151.60.221.121 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) and 37.103.224.114 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) are the latest iterations of the "contributions" by Alebir (talk · contribs), 151.60.177.126 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) and 151.60.187.14 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) (all of them have in common that they target the exact same pieces of sourced information and need multiple edits to remove them), for further details see

Current requests for reduction in protection level
Request unprotection of a page, or reducing the protection level Request unprotection ShortcutsBefore posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.
- To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
- Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
- Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
- If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.
Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.
ShortcutsCurrent requests for edits to a protected page
Request a specific edit to a protected pagePlease request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here Request edit Shortcut
Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.
- Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among
{{Edit protected}}
,{{Edit template-protected}}
,{{Edit extended-protected}}
, or{{Edit semi-protected}}
to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed. - Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Misplaced Pages:Suggestions for COI compliance), the
{{Edit COI}}
template should be used. - Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Misplaced Pages:Requested moves, not here.
- If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
- This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.
Gaza genocide
Genocide Watch states that: „A genocide of the Palestinian people by Israel is underway in Gaza. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister General Yoav Gallant have demonstrated their intent to destroy a substantial portion of the civilian population of Gaza. Israel is committing war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide in Gaza. It is also committing crimes against humanity against Palestinians in the West Bank.” See https://www.genocidewatch.com/single-post/genocide-emergency-gaza-and-the-west-bank-2024 This information should be added to first paragraph of Gaza_genocide#NGOs_and_intergovernmental_organisations Jakub Onderka (talk) 21:59, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
