Just as an FYI, <code><nowiki><span style="color: X">]</span></nowiki></code> will not apply the desired color to the link. What you want to do is move the span inside the displayed text portion of the link e.g. <code><nowiki>]</nowiki></code>.
== WMA Janus ==

With your signature, that would be going from:
I removed the WMA Janus section from the "Windows Media Audio" article because:
1) It's incorrect. Janus was the codename for the DRM update - not a codename for WMA10.
2) DRM is a feature separate from the WMA codec. Windows Media Audio is a codec (actually a series of codecs) and as such is completely independent of any DRM technology. The DRM protection is attached to the ASF file container, not to the WMA audio codec. DRM has no place in an article about audio compression technology, other than as a sidenote about possible usage.

:<code><nowiki><b><span style="color:#1018ff;font-family:Zapfino,Monotype Corsiva;"> ]</span> ]</b></nowiki></code> -> <b><span style="color:#1018ff;font-family:Zapfino,Monotype Corsiva;"> ]</span> ]</b>
BTW, the section wasn't removed "inexplicably". I left a comment in the article disccusion page explaining why I was removing it. {{unsigned|131.107.0.106}}

== IIS article domination ==

==Disambiguation link notification for January 21==
First off Warrens. I contribute my web development knowledge to Misplaced Pages freely to help other young web developers weed through the enormous about of false information out there, and I also support Misplaced Pages finacially.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited ], you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages ] and ] (&nbsp;|&nbsp;). Such links are ], since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. <small>(Read the ]{{*}} Join us at the ].)</small>
Let's set this straight Warrens. You are the one who started all this. First you falsely accused me of subverting the IIS Windows licensing. Where is your "proof" of that in my IIS tutorial exactly Warrens? Uhh no where is the answer. Go read it again and send me the text that violates anything at all. Is it a crime to want to help web developers to learn how to properly install and IIS web server and to actually use it? Uhh no it's not Warrens. Next, you stated that what I was doing was for my non-notable web site promotion. With that comment you clearly violated the policy of Misplaced Pages civility. My web site is just a portfolio site at the
moment. I have "nothing" on that site to promote or sell. You need to learn that you are not the only person who wants to contribute to these articles. So far, all I see in the history list is where you dominate the IIS article and delete everyone's input but your own. The article might as well be called IIS article written only by Warrens. You are not the only person who has something to contribute to the IIS article Warrens. You need to learn how not to be a "hot head" and calm down and let others contribute to Misplaced Pages. Isn't that what Misplaced Pages is all about?...everyone working together to put together helpful articles? Or is Misplaced Pages all about Warrens deletions based on his personal opinion? I'm going to keep putting up helpful resources and tutorials to the IIS article to help young web developers understand how to install IIS, and I am prepared to fight you every day until the end of time. I believe it's very important for people to not only understand what IIS is but also how to install it and make it useful, and I will not allow you to dominate and delete helpful resources and tutorials that show people how to actually use IIS as a web server.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these ]. Thanks, ] (]) 09:32, 21 January 2018 (UTC)
And one last thing Warrens, don't you think your constant deletions and your sour comments only hurt Wikpedia? The thing is this, if you don't allow people to contribute then they will get frustrated because you delete everything they do. Now you are creating a situation where people don't want to help and don't contribute to Misplaced Pages financially either. Perhaps the Misplaced Pages admins might be interested to know that you may be driving people to NOT contribute financially because you are frustrating them by dominating all the articles you have a personal interest in.

== TfD for ] ==
In the end, it's people like you who will bring and end to the Misplaced Pages effort all together, because you dominate the articles daily and don't allow people to contribute. Everyone will get tired of that and they will stop sending in money to help out.

Hello {{p|:)}}
] 15:11, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

As you are one of the top ten contributors to the ] and ] articles, I thought perhaps you might be interested in participating in the ] for {{tl|MacOS derivations}}. This template is a navbox. The discussion is stalled because of a lack of contributors.
:The sum total of your contributions to the ] article has been to add a link to your personal web site. That's ''it''. While I'm sure this will help improve your site's Google ranking or whatever, it doesn't really help improve the quality of the article, or of the encyclopedia at large. External links &ndash; especially personal web sites &ndash; don't really have any lasting value, since external web sites a) Go offline, b) Won't get translated into other languages for use by other language Wikipedias, and c) Aren't subject to ongoing improvements via the Misplaced Pages editorial process. Are you here to contribute to the betterment of the encyclopedia? If so, by all means, ''']''' and ''expand'' the article with information you feel is important! It's a much, much better use than expending your time & energy leaving lengthy, poorly-informed rants on my talk page talking about how you're going to "fight" me or whatever it is you're going on about.

To summarize the long conversation there (and the changes that happened afterwards), IMHO, this navbox:
:Oh, and, please feel free to contact the Misplaced Pages administrators if you really feel that put off by someone removing an external link to your personal web site. I'm sure they'll be thrilled to hear from you. The page to start at is here: ].
* Is redundant to the {{tl|Apple Inc. operating systems}} navbox. Whatever benefit {{tl|MacOS derivations}} offers can be integrated into the former via editing.
* Diseminates unreferenced information. A navbox should only help navigate.

As such, it should either be deleted or merged. Currently, this discussion is only attended by the template's creator, and one other anonymous editor (IP) who doesn't have any other contributions to Misplaced Pages.

::You are a lost cause Warrens. Like a politician you carefully avoided my points about your false licensing accusations for the tutorial. It's not a personal web site. It's actually one of the most comprehensive (took me days to put it together) tutorials on how to install IIS 5.1. It's such a major crime in trying to show people how to install and use IIS 5.1 isn't it Warrens..? And if one day the link is dead, then guess what genius? It gets removed, just like any Microsoft link would if they changed the address or removed it. I will contact Misplaced Pages admins, because your threats are false, and you are a bluffer. There are "several" articles within Misplaced Pages that have external links to tutorials and other resources. So you better get started on deleting ALL of those links too! One last thing before I let you go for good Warrens...the The ] article has this tutorial link: Installing and configuring Apache on Windows XP - step-by-step tutorial describing virtual name-based hosting on Windows XP. If the Apache server article has one why can't IIS have one? Why? Because Warrens only dominates his personal little IIS article, that's why. So I guess folks, NO article at all in Misplaced Pages can have a link to ANY tutorial or ANY helpful resource according to Warrens the almighty. Please man, all of your arguments are so weak and simply drowning in self delusion and self justification. You are yet another person who can never be wrong. You're too "hot headed" Warrens and you can't be reasoned with. I've more than proven my points with sited facts rather than my personal opinions like you...such a waste. ] 20:52, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

Security and Maintenance

Hey. Look, what I am going to say is just a tip from an old timer to another; feel free to ignore it, no hard feelings.

Good beneficiary actions in Misplaced Pages have previously been stopped and banned because the person doing them gave a bad impression. For example, Archive.is is an awesome service but it was banned here for a very long time, because its maintainer did fishy stuff that put everyone into skeptical mode. See? A good thing got banned because it rubbed people the wrong way.

Let's assume Security and Maintenance must really and truly be moved to Windows Defender Security Center. Let's assume, right? With your aggressive editing in the wrong place and your bulldozer attitude, it won't happen. Face it: You gave a bad impression. Imagine Misplaced Pages as a huge building under construction. Bringing a wrecking ball to a long-completed wing of the building in which people have been living for years, and then giving the excuse that "it is a work in progress anyway" and "newer maps say such and such" does not fly with anyone.

That said, Windows 10 is a soup in which competing components have co-existed for three years now: Control Panel and Settings, Windows Photo Viewer and Photos, Internet Explorer and Edge, Paint and Paint 3D, Windows Media Player and Groove Music, Windows Command Prompt and Windows PowerShell... Windows 10 is approaching the end of its mainstream support and I won't be surprised if this civil war doesn't end by then (at which point it will never end).

FleetCommand (Speak your mind!) 22:39, 10 December 2017 (UTC)

@FleetCommand: A cursory review of the edit history for that article will show that I didn't rename the article. Someone else did that. All I did was observe that the article name didn't match the lead section, so I thought, hey, here's something to do (because I care about good lead sections), and I fixed it up. I don't care much one way or the other what that article is named right now. Reality is, "Secure and Maintenance" will be removed in a future Windows 10 version and the article will get renamed then. Warren -talk- 00:35, 11 December 2017 (UTC)
Oh, yeah. That's the worst thing that could happen: People have negative attitude towards what you do but that's not even your fault; somebody else (in this case, Imgif) tripped their tripwire. But that doesn't mean you can't do anything about it. Okay, for a long time, I thought what I am going to say is a nasty trick, but it turns out it isn't. When someone does something stupid, like what Imgif did, you can become part of those people who have gone into defensive mood. Then, you show them good quality work and actually become their hero. It is not nasty or a trick because, what you do is good quality work in lieu of a consensus you yourself suggested. Becoming the hero is just a consequence. FleetCommand (Speak your mind!) 04:50, 11 December 2017 (UTC)

Removal of Content from Darvin

I noticed that you had reverted my changes to the article Darwin_(operating_system). The information remove is pure product details which has its place in a product brochure rather than in a Misplaced Pages article. A long list of past and current revisions of the software does not add any information. The information needs to be removed as WP:NOTJARGON Hagennos (talk) 17:20, 25 December 2017 (UTC)

@Hagennos: There is considerable precedent for this, starting with Google Chrome version history, Internet Explorer version history, Firefox version history and Safari version history. These articles have all existed for a number of years. It's not just browsers, either -- we have a whole category called Category:Software version histories devoted to tracking exactly the kind of content you are proposing removing from the encyclopedia. If you really believe what you're trying to argue here, then you should submit all these articles to WP:AFD and see what the community thinks of those beliefs. TfD for Template:MacOS derivations

Hello

As you are one of the top ten contributors to the macOS and macOS Server articles, I thought perhaps you might be interested in participating in the Templates for Discussion entry for {{MacOS derivations}}. This template is a navbox. The discussion is stalled because of a lack of contributors.

To summarize the long conversation there (and the changes that happened afterwards), IMHO, this navbox:

  • Is redundant to the {{Apple Inc. operating systems}} navbox. Whatever benefit {{MacOS derivations}} offers can be integrated into the former via editing.
  • Diseminates unreferenced information. A navbox should only help navigate.

As such, it should either be deleted or merged. Currently, this discussion is only attended by the template's creator, and one other anonymous editor (IP) who doesn't have any other contributions to Misplaced Pages.

Best regards,
Codename Lisa (talk) 07:41, 2 March 2018 (UTC)

Sincere thanks for your help! Porteclefs (talk) 18:23, 9 April 2018 (UTC)

Boldface

Regarding your revision on Power Mac G4, the name of the article and its abbreviations, synonyms, and foreign language translations are bold the first time they are mentioned in the lead section of the article if the lead section can mention the full names without awkward wording per MOS:BOLDTITLE. This doesn’t apply to sections. Interqwark 00:58, 3 June 2018 (UTC)

@Interqwark: Sure it does. Per MOS:BOLD:
The most common use of boldface is to highlight the first occurrence of the title word/phrase of the article (and usually its synonyms) in the lead section. This is also done, at the first occurrence in running text, of a term that is redirected to the article or one of its subsections, whether the term appears in the lead or not.
I have bolded the part that you need to understand. There are other articles that point to sections of the Power Mac G4 article, based on the name of each generation of the product. This justifies the bolding of the Power Mac G4's various names.
Also, I will repeat the reminder you've already received that editing articles to change one style to another is not appropriate behaviour on the encyclopedia. Is this going to be an ongoing problem with you? I hope not. Misplaced Pages needs productive editors who curate and improve content, not people who waste time lecturing experienced editors on style guidelines they haven't read. — Warren.talk , 02:04, 3 June 2018 (UTC)
You’re fully right. I didn’t know this since MOS:BOLDTITLE doesn’t mention it. My apologies. I’ve edited Misplaced Pages:Manual of Style/Lead section so that MOS:BOLDTITLE also mentions this so that others won’t miss this information like I did.
This matter isn’t about style in the same sense. What you linked to was a post about spaces in headings, which don’t change the appearance of the article outside source editing mode. I don’t see how it’s relevant.
Thanks for explaining! I’ve reverted my revisions on Power Mac G4. Interqwark 02:09, 3 June 2018 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Shakori (disambiguation)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Shakori (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguates only one extant Misplaced Pages page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
  • disambiguates zero extant Misplaced Pages pages, regardless of its title; or
