::Marco, your recent edit to Cal Poly just evidences the fact that you are a racist. You criticize a campus because of the races of its student body? Wow. As I'm sure you're not aware, Prop 209 removed affirmative action in California public university admissions. Thus, everyone who's at Cal Poly earned their way in. Whatever their race happens to be, well, that's who earned it. But hey, if you want to live in a world that sees people as merely colors or races, you go right ahead. I like your suggestion to use the full name for the Cal Poly engineering articles (i.e. "California State Polytechnic University, Pomona College of Engineering"). I think it would basically end the debate, and make the articles more stable. If that's what we do, I won't edit the names further. Let me know.

:Pedantically, there should be a comma after Pomona: "California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, College of Engineering"; since the initial comma is intended to set "Pomona" out of the flow of the sentence, a trailing comma is needed if the sentence continues. Only pedants like me will notice, but, taken to an extreme, one can end up with "California State University, Sacramento's library", which to the uninitiated can suggest that Sacramento only has one library, named "California State University".--] (]) 13:35, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

:Sorry, I agree it should be deleted. Any article that primarily consists of the schedule of the upcoming event is automatically suspect as non-encyclopedic; what would the article look like ten years from now? I think a comparison to the ASI article is apt: ASI has a budget larger than a lot of companies in Misplaced Pages, it has existed for decades, and will likely exist as long as CPP. It owns buildings. BroncoFusion, in comparison, is fluff. In any given year it is important to the students who attend, and there will alsways be ''some'' sort of "welcome to campus" event, but there's no insurance that next year it won't be re-conceptualized and renamed.--] (]) 13:22, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

==] nomination of ]==
A tag has been placed on ] requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under ], because it is a ] with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the ].
If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the image can be used under the ], please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{]&#124;article name that the image is used in}} tag, ''along with'' a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the image. If the image has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding <code>{{tl|hangon}}</code> to '''the top of ]''' (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on ''']''' explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for ''speedy'' deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. <!-- Template:Db-badfairuse-notice -->

Since the image already exists in a low-resolution raster format, making a derivative work in vector format is unnecessary, thus not fair use. —] (]) 03:08, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

:<s>Wouldn't a vector image be of better use in this case though? I'm not very fond of vector images thus far since I still find their usage cumbersome to a certain degree; however, I've notice most raster logos on Misplaced Pages being replaced by their vector counterparts. I think their resizing is easily achieved with no loss of quality.</s> On a second thought I just noticed that at 2000px the letters come out weird. Meh, never mind. I still wonder if this image could be replaced by a vector one in the future though? ==Cal Poly Name==

Hey Marco. I know that this has been beaten to death over the years, but I undid some of the changes to the "Name" section in the California Polytechnic State University article. Hi Marco, I am a Wikipedian and researcher from ], working with Professors ] and . We’ve published many scholarly papers on ] and are partnering with the Wikimedia Foundation on several new projects.

I have been analyzing collaboration in Misplaced Pages, especially Collaborations of the Week/Month. My analysis of seven years of archival Misplaced Pages data shows that Collaborations of the Week/Month substantially increase the amount and nature of project members’ contributions, with long lasting effects. We would like to talk to Wikipedians to better understand the processes that that produce this behavior change.

We’ve identified you as a particularly good candidate to speak with because of your involvement with the WikiProject Universities' Collaborations, which is one of those we’ve been investigating. It would really help us if you would be willing to have a short talk with us, less than 30 minutes of your time. We can talk via skype or instant messenger or other means if you’d prefer. Speedy deletion nomination of File:Cal Poly Pomona university seal.png

A tag has been placed on File:Cal Poly Pomona university seal.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Misplaced Pages (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. Orphaned non-free image File:Cal Poly Pomona university seal.png

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Cal Poly Pomona university seal.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Misplaced Pages under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Misplaced Pages. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Misplaced Pages (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:10, 29 August 2016 (UTC)
