The Universe Today forum was begun on the 24th of July 2003, and was powered by ]. The forum was a place to discuss the Universe Today news. Also it was a place to ask space-related questions and discuss alternate theories. Members were also allowed to post astrophotos.

Early September 2005 the forums of Universe Today and ] combined to form the BAUT Forum. The combined forum made for a very large and active community.

UniverseToday.org is the home of Return to the Moon. Return to the Moon is a site that documents information about NASA's intention to return humans to the surface of the moon. This will be a step on from the Apollo missions in the late 1960's and early 1970's. Since Apollo 17 which visited the moon in December of 1972 there has not been a human presence. NASA intends to change this in the year 2018 when it intends to send a group of astronauts back there with a view to establishing a permanent presence on the Lunar surface. The overall goal of this will be to pave the way to a manned mission to the Red Planet - Mars...
