Hi Pratyeka. Thank you for creating ] and ]. For ], I supported retention at ] and provided a list of newspaper articles establishing that the garden meets ]. Misplaced Pages needs more articles on Chinese topics, an area that is systematically underrepresented. I hope that this experience hasn't soured your experience to contributing articles like these. We need many, many more articles like ] and ]. Nowadays, ] will tag articles for deletion or draftify articles if the article doesn't have two ] proving the subject is notable. This can be frustrating. I try to include at least two reliable sources when creating an article so that the article does not get nominated for deletion or draftified. Thank you again for your contributions, and please let me know if there is anything I can do to help with sourcing. ] (]) 05:02, 19 October 2022 (UTC)

I appreciate your work, including your readiness to add references to articles after their notability was challenged for lack of them. Cunard has wise words just above about having references in place when first saving an article. One of the strengths of the project is our diversity, in both backgrounds and perspectives; unfortunately that means that any article has to not only be clear to readers but to demonstrate its right to exist to editors who may have no frame of reference in the area of its topic. Your parting statement above mentions "paid shills", so you apparently share the widespread revulsion on Misplaced Pages for corporate promotion; unfortunately this has been a major impetus for suspicion about new articles, not only new articles about businesses and their products. It's hardened many editors' hearts, emboldened some to adopt a policing role, and I think it means we're going backwards on global perspective and on reducing the impact of entrenched biases in our coverage. In addition to the great weight of rules, guidelines, and bureaucratic processes that now encumbers the project, well meant though most of it is. I also note with approval that you have criticized the WMF's priorities. However, I suspect beyond those general issues, we may have very different areas of concern and preferences. (For example, while I lean inclusionist and regard the existence of an article on another language Misplaced Pages as suggesting notability, English Misplaced Pages isn't the only one with vanity articles or even articles based on misunderstandings.) I regret it all the more if we have indeed lost you, your perspective, your knowledge, your energy. However, having left once myself, and being very much aware of the volunteer nature of the project, I won't beg you to change your mind. If you don't return, I hope you can find somewhere else to contribute; the goal of making knowledge of everything available to everyone is still a noble and worthwhile one. ] (]) 00:22, 20 October 2022 (UTC)

{{Col-2}}
Dear Pratyeka,

]
My name is Jonathan Obar ], I'm a professor in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University and a Teaching Fellow with the Wikimedia Foundation's Education Program. This semester I've been running a little experiment at MSU, a class where we teach students about becoming Misplaced Pages administrators. Not a lot is known about your community, and our students (who are fascinated by wiki-culture by the way!) want to learn how you do what you do, and why you do it. A while back I proposed this idea (the class) to the community], where it was met mainly with positive feedback. Anyhow, I'd like my students to speak with a few administrators to get a sense of admin experiences, training, motivations, likes, dislikes, etc. We were wondering if you'd be interested in speaking with one of our students.

So a few things about the interviews:
* Interviews will last between 15 and 30 minutes.
* Interviews can be conducted over skype (preferred), IRC or email. (You choose the form of communication based upon your comfort level, time, etc.)
* All interviews will be completely anonymous, meaning that you (real name and/or pseudonym) will never be identified in any of our materials, unless you give the interviewer permission to do so.
* All interviews will be completely voluntary. You are under no obligation to say yes to an interview, and can say no and stop or leave the interview at any time.
* The entire interview process is being overseen by MSU's institutional review board (ethics review). This means that all questions have been approved by the university and all students have been trained how to conduct interviews ethically and properly.

If the page has already been deleted, you can ] so you can continue working on it.
I've read over the discussion on the talk page. There is ''no'' consensus to remove the material. Even if there were, an uninvolved administrator should be the one to remove the material. Please restore it and let someone who isn't the article's creator make that assessment, especially when the previous text was added as the result of a consensus approved in an edit request by an uninvolved administrator. It's inappropriate to remove sourced content like that without discussion, when an uninvolved administrator was the one that put the wording into the article. - ] 21:21, 22 November 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for your submission to Misplaced Pages. ] (]) 22:01, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
:I will ]. I disagree with your interpretation of consensus. In my view, it is clear that many people have supported altering the statements which add little to the article. It is unfortunate that, given the amount of policy-bashing that has been going on (largely powered by you) combined with the protected status, we have a result where everyone who has contributed seems to have become demotivated and left, even after I explicitly invited participation and made a fair new effort to resolve the issue. Therefore, I am going to revert the change as per your request but in the interests of getting something actually changed after the positively Herculean combined effort put in by many volunteers, including myself, to discuss and overwhelmingly support altering the obviously poor statement that you alone seem to be blocking (which is basically explained elsewhere in the article and consists of only opine), I will be seeking some further involvement from other Wikipedians via ]. I will note also that while you seem to be so keen on labelling me as "involved", frankly, I do not consider myself to be partial to any particular public perception of Bitcoin though neither can I afford the time to debate endlessly. I am all for inclusion of properly sourced statements, even opine, as you can see from my previous comments, but in my view your actions at this point are simply counter-productive. The section is one-sided, poorly sourced and uninformative and desperately needs to be fixed. There's very little to be lost removing the section entirely. If you want to improve it to resolve the concerns expressed, then by all means contribute an improvement. Please don't just get in the way of others, as it demotivates contributors and harms the community. ] (]) 00:01, 23 November 2012 (UTC)

This user has left Misplaced Pages. Pratyeka has not edited Misplaced Pages since February 1, 2023. As a result, any requests made here may not receive a response. If you are seeking assistance, you may need to approach someone else.

Not interested in Misplaced Pages anymore. It seems to be populated by deletionists, paid shills and policy thumpers. Common decency has evaporated. Misplaced Pages has lost its way. I have resigned. prat (talk) 04:23, 19 October 2022 (UTC)

Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Nanyue Yuan

Hi Pratyeka. Thank you for creating Baomo Yuan and Baomo Yuan. For Nanyue Yuan, I supported retention at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Nanyue Yuan and provided a list of newspaper articles establishing that the garden meets Misplaced Pages:Notability#General notability guideline. Misplaced Pages needs more articles on Chinese topics, an area that is systematically underrepresented. I hope that this experience hasn't soured your experience to contributing articles like these. We need many, many more articles like Baomo Yuan and Baomo Yuan. Nowadays, Misplaced Pages:New pages patrol will tag articles for deletion or draftify articles if the article doesn't have two reliable sources proving the subject is notable. This can be frustrating. I try to include at least two reliable sources when creating an article so that the article does not get nominated for deletion or draftified. Thank you again for your contributions, and please let me know if there is anything I can do to help with sourcing. Cunard (talk) 05:02, 19 October 2022 (UTC)

For what it's worth

Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Misplaced Pages). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Misplaced Pages's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. • Following an RfC, editors indefinitely site-banned by community consensus will now have all rights, including sysop, removed.
  • As a part of the Wikimedia Foundation's IP Masking project, a new policy has been created that governs the access to temporary account IP addresses. An associated FAQ has been created and individual communities can increase the requirements to view temporary account IP addresses.

Technical news

  • Bot operators and tool maintainers should schedule time in the coming months to test and update their tools for the effects of IP masking. Your draft article, Draft:Macroseta

Hello, Pratyeka. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Macroseta".

In accordance with our policy that Misplaced Pages is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. When you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Proposed deletion of Radhi, Bhutan

Notice

The article Radhi, Bhutan has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Refers to the same subject as Radi, Bhutan

While all constructive contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
