== Corporate Jet in Controversy Section? ==

:''"Comcast is described as a family business. Brian L. Roberts, its chairman, president and CEO, is the son of founder Ralph J. Roberts. Roberts owns or controls about 1% of all Comcast shares…"''
Why is it here?
Yes, but which Roberts? – ] (]) 07:33, 29 January 2022 (UTC)
Comcast didn't take any bailouts from the government and has no financial issues why is this relevant for a controversy section?
I just don't see it as all that controversial. ] (]) 08:05, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
:I agree. Unless there's bailout money, government subsidies, or crimes being committed with the jet, then I'm failing to see the controversy. A company has a right to use a jet that they own for their own purposes. --- ] (] • ]) - 16:12, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

Greetings Wikipedians! Two issues here: 1) The narrative part of this section seemed to be outdated. There was text about results from 5-10 years ago but nothing about more recent years. I deleted the outdated text and added a brief, non-judgmental summary of 2022, supported by citations. 2) A web site called "Simply Wall Street" is cited multiple times by prior editors. How do we know that web site is a reliable source? I'd prefer to see something written by a firm or publication that is closer to Misplaced Pages standards. The boilerplate on "Simply Wall Street" is not impressive: "Simply Wall Street Pty Ltd (ACN 600 056 611), is a Corporate Authorised Representative (Authorised Representative Number: 467183) of Sanlam Private Wealth Pty Ltd (AFSL No. 337927)." Full disclosure: I have no conflict of interest or affiliation with Comcast apart from the fact that I use their cable TV and internet products. Cordially, ] (]) 14:38, 25 August 2023 (UTC)

The Comcast logo was updated in early 2024 to include a reflection layer that's not represented here. The new SVG logo is available on Wikimedia Commons, can someone update this here? The correct version of the logo is reflected at https://corporate.comcast.com and at https://brand.comcast.com.

] (]) 02:29, 6 June 2024 (UTC)
:I take your point, but between the two examples that you gave and the Comcast–Xfinity relationship, there’s at least one significant difference which I believe justifies not splitting the article. That is that ''Verizon FiOS'' and ''AT&T U-verse'' are brands used specifically for services delivered by way of the respective companies’ fiber-optic networks. At the risk of being snide, ''Xfinity'' is just a different name for services that are similar to those that were branded ''Comcast'', delivered through essentially the same network.

== Question ==

== Notifying about SpinCo ==
If Comcast is the largest cable company in the world, why does it have such limited television in their costly basic to mid level package, which is made up of predominately crime programs, repeated programs, outdated programs, non profit religious programs, reality shows which are actually quite boring. It is a legal voyeurism of watching someones life inside their home. Which in essence, is illegal. Moreover, it is staged reality. To combine it with the crime shows filled with overt violence compared to the reality shows which are inundated with fighting, quarreling, backstabbing, competitiveness, and living an ostentatious indulgent life only to read later on about the bankruptcy, divorces and fraud in the tabloids at the grocery store. For the exception of "BUBU", which is about a light hearted loving relatively obese family that doesn't eat healthy at all, but are staged and act and look bored as heck. Food channels which I have yet to see any of this bountiful generous, tasty food in any restaurant I have eaten at. Were are these restaurants? We get all of this for $99.00 the first year and it increases each year for the basic package up to $169.00 each month. Compared to Direct TV, which is primarily home shopping networks,crime programs, food channels, religious networks, sports channels for $179.00 package for month, which is why we changed in the first place. I find it amazing that these billion dollar industries can't afford to provide any educational channels included in their basic packages which also charge at least $20.00 in city,county,state and federal taxes per month. Aren't taxes supposed to go back to the well being of the public. Isn't that we have government at all and allow it to exist?

Logo Update from February 2024

This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered.

The Comcast logo was updated in early 2024 to include a reflection layer that's not represented here. The new SVG logo is available on Wikimedia Commons, can someone update this here? The correct version of the logo is reflected at https://corporate.comcast.com and at https://brand.comcast.com.
