Thanks for the fix in the ] bit too. I'm not sure why my edits got reverted. Having sample examples of MUSHes in an article that only vaguely links to MUSHes as a disambiguation is not neutral, and I think that they have to be removed. Asserting that the GOD/WIZ/USER idea is only for nuts-type talkers and doesn't apply to ew-too isn't neutral either. I was just a bit confused how to word that, since it'd be good to explain that. But the user levels vary talker to talker, not ew-too to nuts. Anyway, all my edits got reverted, so I am not bothering with it anymore. The article generally looks pretty good I think, but its a bit messy. The whole thing with providing examples over something like this is because people have loyalty to one place over another, and then you have fights over which one is best. That's why there were only the 11 examples given, each with a specific reason for their inclusion, notability wise, and in terms of the history. Including any more without referencing their historical status is biased. Anyway, thanks for your bit. I don't know anything about MUF so was just changing that to make things more readable. ] 17:46, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

:I don't really know much about talkers - I only noticed the article because it linked to MUSH. I'd guess that all the bits about software specifics (like the permission levels) would be better off in a separate article on the talker codebase in question - as many of the MUD codebases have. I also think the MUSH/MUCK/etc examples are unnecessary, especially since the actual MUSH article doesn't list specific games. I don't really feel strongly enough about it to revert someone else about it, though. ] 17:55, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

I reviewed the Rikki Lee Travolta files and I see where you’re coming from. His fans are about the most over zealous ever seen. It’s pretty common knowledge, that religious fever they have. That’s why he was hired as the first big guest star investment for TnT. There were fans traveling from state to state to see him as he moved from show to show. That’s why he was cast.

I have declined the speedy request as I am not convinced that it is speedy material. You're free to take to AfD. ] (]) 20:18, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
Understanding your concerns, rest assured that Rikki Lee was the first big time guest star (there was a minor guest star test with Meloa that went okay too, but he’s never been national). Please don’t take my word for it. Just look at the history of the entire article from day 1. Also look at the sources sited.

== Removed Links ==
Also while there continues to be a nice relationship with John Mendoza (he no longer uses the Stuttering John moniker) he wasn’t one of the more major celebrities used over the year. That is not to downplay his value. Every guest star and every cast member is valued. He only did one night a week and was not yet on the Tonight Show, just a player on a radio show. We appreciate his place in history of TnT and his contributions, but it would be false to list him as one of our major celebrities much less our first.

Hello,
Please, also, consider the source of the individual who tried to pass off John as the premier celebrity guest star for the show; it you look at the record - KevinMutt also tried to claim “the bagel boy” was the first big guest star. It’s vandalism. Goofy vandalsim.

I see you have recently removed the external links I've placed below a few select articles. I assure you it was not an attempt to spam these articles, rather, to add relevant information to enhance the articles. Each link went to a page with many resources on the subject from reputable, well established, sources. The information on the site also adds value for readers because it tackles the subjects from a parent's standpoint, and how a subject applies to children grades K-12.
Protocol says I have to tag a please don’t vandalize notation. I appreciate what you’re trying to do, though, Don’t take it personal. It’s simple a flag that we have to put up but we can disregard as we all progress together. Keep up the good work (just don’t remove information in the process of safeguarding). ] 05:26, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

I am employed at education.com, along with many other individuals who have dedicated much of their lives to improving education, but I placed the links because I'm proud of the content we have collected and felt it improved the articles by offering a resource for more specific information (how the subject relates to student). I was very careful to place a link only where they were "meritable, accessible, and appropriate to the article," so as not to be considered spam. I was also careful to not place any marketing jargon in the links, rather, simply stating: (dyslexia, eating disorder, education) resources for parents of school aged children.

:I hadn't seen that when I did the revert, but even so, I think it is inappropriate for you to decertify your own RFC. I suggest you ask JoshuaZ to revert me, with my blessings. :) ] 16:57, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

I would appreciate you reconsidering your removal of these links. If you take a look at the content that was being linked to, I'm confident that you'll find it very relevant and valuable.
== My RfC again==

I see you left this edit summary: ''"revert - Please don't remove other sections, and more importantly don't revert other people's endorsements of the statement of dispute"'' I did not intend to remove any other people's endorsements from the dispute. My own statements got reverted out while multiple users were editing at the same time. I tried to revert back and put in the relevent endorsements where they belonged. It was completely unintentional that this happened and I will try to be more careful in the future. ] (]) 21:21, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

I've read the COI article. Having a COI does not preclude an edit that is genuinely trying to increase coverage. The links increased coverage by giving specific resources on how a particular subject relates to children & education. The website being linked to is not a commercial website, it is a reference website, and the addition was not financially motivated. Nor are the reference articles promoting one author, they are a collection of articles from a wide range of resources.

Imagine if you will being a parent with a child who has an eating disorder. You come to Misplaced Pages to research this and now you know the definitions and biology behind ED, but you don't know what you can do to help. This is what the goal of the links was, to offer parents a place to go and be armed with information that allows them to proactively help the situation.

I know first hand how difficult it could be to track down all these resources from the myriad of different reference sites. Having these different and neutral resources in one location is of benefit to parents. Since the contributions show a great connection to what a general reader may want to consult as a reference, I ask that you reconsider.

Thank you.

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Twinking. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. Keilana| 19:49, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
