Aanderud started piano studies at 8 years old at the Escuela Nacional de Musica in Mexico City. He started to perform professionally when he was 18 years old. Mark Aanderud is known as a jazz pianist and composer, but through the years he has become one of the most versatile musicians, performing, composing and recording, in many generes of music from Jazz and classical music, to progressive rock or Latin music. His first Cd as a leader ] was awarded as best album of the year 2002 by the Czech Music Awards. Mark has performed and recorded with some of the most innovating musicians in the world like Tim Berne, ], Eli Degibri, Omar Rodriguez Lopez, Eric Reeves, Ximena Sariñana, Jonathan Kreisberg, Magos Herrera, Hernan Hecht, Agustin Bernal, Rick Parker and has performed many festivals and clubs in France, Germany, Czech Republic, Spain, England, Greece, Holand, United States, Mexico, Japan, Colombia, Argentina, etc.

===SOLO===
ANIMATIC THEATRE, SOLO PIANO PROJECT

Solo isn’t merely an acoustic piano solo project, it engages much more. Solo is a whole audio and visual experience : a celebration of creation, peace and inspiration, elecronic sounds emerging from an acoustic instrument. Images and colors is an experimental journey at the heart of all music.

The idea of a project for piano solo crossed Mark Aanderud’s mind a while ago, but didn’t seem relevant until he light upon the opportune concept. Mark Aanderud’s conceptual and pianistic development lead to this vibrant expression of life itself in his most personal project so far. For Solo, he collaborated with Nueveojos, leading Barcelona visual artists.


===TRIO===

What started more than 10 years ago as a trio with Latin-Jazz influences has developed into a unique ensemble with a distinguish sound. An avant-garde trio where different improvisational and compositional concepts flow into what can be called a Jazz-Electronic-Pop Trio.

This trio has been through a long process where great musicians like Ziv Ravitz, Stomu Takeishi, Lenny Robinson, Herman Burney, Ricky Rodriguez and others have been part of.
