I use wikipedia all the time and got tired of vandalism.
I now realize it's not you that I had an editing battle with. I'm very sorry about my outburst. I'm just as guilty as the person who squashed my legit article. You are a good guy and I'm sorry I confused you with another.

==Phyllis Jackson== | |||
For the Roberts et al paper, I looked for Jackson's name in the references (it's not there) and the acknowls (not there) and then just ran a text search for the string "Jac" in the entire paper (nothing), for the two ''Foot'' papers I just ran the text search, and a quick glance over the References... nothing there. As a scientist doing research into finger and toe length variation, I had hoped to be able to find something useful in all this "Celtic Toe" bruhaha, but it seems to be just a big waste of my time (and perhaps a bit of shame for Misplaced Pages a source). ] 23:34, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

== thanks, but your POV reason for deletion is my reason to include ==
== T.I. == | |||
The feminism, radical feminism and feminazi pages do not have a broad enough POV, they just spew out the 'party line' feminist propaganda, that is why changes need to be made in order have a more inclusive POV. There are no criticism or other perspectives, compare this to 'Father's Rights, with pages of criticism attached. I have included references and other citations, but I will work on that some more. I tried to add the book cover of 'women of the Klan' but this too was deleted ... is it OK to use book covers as images? there is no link to a commercial site selling the book, the book cover has a very good and rage photo of early WKKK members in robes, and illustrates the comments that cite the book. My understanding is that book covers automatically qualify for no copyright infringment. — Preceding ] comment added by ] (] • ])

::Yikes. Well, I can't say I'll miss the surreal rants and accusations. I don't see any attempt on his part to take the matter to arbitration. My guess is that someone who was patrolling the recent changes noticed him making edits every couple of minutes, took a look at the stuff he'd been writing, and decided it was time for a block. Hey! I was just thinking about you, wondering where you wandered off to. Thought you disappeared into the forest. =) Yeah, that vote change on the AfD was pretty odd, but that addition of a user box was odder. I'm glad that you're still around. =) -- ] 06:37, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
Just FYI: I think you were correct to revert the addition of the cute little ] story from the ] article, but I think your fingers might have gotten ahead of you when you tagged it "rvv" in the edit summary. It sounds to me more like someone promoting Polk Audio than a run-of-the-mill Wikivandal, and they probably should just have been steered over to the Polk Audio article.
:Re : Need more tape? =) Packing is not much fun. About that userbox vandal, I'm pretty sure I know who that was. Ran into him earlier. ==Reality TV Contestants==
] 19:31, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
'''I've started a discussion section on the Deletion Policy page regarding reality television contestants'''. My main point is this: the ABC.com homepage does a perfectly fine job of sorting out who is a contestant, and their background. Jimmy Wales stated we should focus on quality, not quantity. What is it that these entries give to the internet that is not already covered by their homepages for the game shows?
Would you mind weighing in with an opinion: http://en.wikipedia.org/Wikipedia_talk:Deletion_policy#Reality_Telvision_Contestants
::Ah, good catch. I saw the that was added to the end of the word "was," assumed it was nonsense vandalism, and didn't look closely at the other part of the edit. Checking that ISP's other edit, they're skirting the POV line in their enthusiasm for Polk Audio, but I should have been more careful in my revert and summary. I left the editor a message . Thanks for pointing that out to me! -] 19:42, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

Tapir, I could use your help: my Floyd Abrams articles have been nominated for deletion. I explain the point behind them on the deletion page, but if you think this is important information I could sure use someone backing me up. I have spent so many countless hours working on it, that if it's deleted I'll have to taken an extended vacation from contributing, because I think it is very important. I'm all for deleting useless and vanity-fuelled articles, but this man is living history, and I took it upon myself to do this (after I read the book he gave me when I went to take his photograph for Misplaced Pages). I am writing a grant-proposal around the project; if it's deleted, well, that would hurt me a lot.

==Invitation to , a focus group==
Hello. I'm part of a research group at the University of Washington (Seattle campus), and my group is reaching out to Wikipedians in the Puget Sound area. We're hosting a focus group designed to gather information on what Wikipedians would like to know about each other when interacting on Misplaced Pages. Our end goal is to create an embedded application that helps people quickly know more about others' history and activity on Misplaced Pages, and we feel our design will be much more useful if it's based on insights of users like you.
I'm hoping that the chance to help out local researchers, to engage in lively face-to-face discussion with other Seattle Wikipedians, and to contribute to Misplaced Pages in a new way will entice you to join us. The session lasts 2 hours and snacks are provided. Sessions will be held on UW Seattle campus - directions will be sent after registration. Your contribution will be greatly appreciated!

thanks, but your POV reason for deletion is my reason to include
— Preceding unsigned comment added by Loneranger4justice (talk • contribs)

Reality TV Contestants
I've started a discussion section on the Deletion Policy page regarding reality television contestants.

Could use your help
Tapir, I could use your help: my Floyd Abrams articles have been nominated for deletion. I explain the point behind them on the deletion page, but if you think this is important information I could sure use someone backing me up. I have spent so many countless hours working on it, that if it's deleted I'll have to taken an extended vacation from contributing, because I think it is very important. I'm all for deleting useless and vanity-fuelled articles, but this man is living history, and I took it upon myself to do this (after I read the book he gave me when I went to take his photograph for Misplaced Pages). I am writing a grant-proposal around the project; if it's deleted, well, that would hurt me a lot. http://en.wikipedia.org/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Floyd_Abrams_and_the_Pentagon_Papers_case --DavidShankBone 03:05, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
Feminazi
Mens Rights Insert This is blatant propaganda by the mens rights network which is trying to link an offensive, abusive term for feminists to organisations such as the KKK and other racist groups. You wrote that youd deleted his references to the women of the clan book etc but hes putting them all back in.
Feminazi is a WORD - it is not and never has been an organisation which lynched or killed men, or indeed anybody.
Giving this loneranger4justice cretin a platform for his ridiculous and unsubstantiated opinions is nothing short of shameful and Misplaced Pages is failing in its neutrality.
As someone else has written - an addendum on the end of the Wiki misandry entry would suffice.
Misplaced Pages is a laughing stock trumpeting its neutrality whilst simultaneously allowing the personal opinions of one man who claims to represent "mens rights" this sort of exposure.
Its an exercise in futilty and a failed resource

Invitation to Meetup/Seattle6, a focus group
Willing and able to help us out? RSVP here. Want to know more? Visit our user talk page . Please help us contact other local Wikipedians, too! Commprac01 (talk) 01:44, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
WP:Hornbook -- a new law-related task force for the J.D. curriculum
Hi Tapir Terrific,
I'm asking Wikipedians who are interested in United States legal articles to take a look at WP:Hornbook, the new "JD curriculum task force".
Our mission is to assimilate into Misplaced Pages all the insights of an American law school education, by reducing hornbooks to footnotes.
- Each casebook will have a subpage.
- Over the course of a semester, each subpage will shift its focus to track the unfolding curriculum(s) for classes using that casebook around the country.
- It will also feature an extensive, hyperlinked "index" or "outline" to that casebook, pointing to pages, headers, or {{anchors}} in Misplaced Pages (example).
- Individual law schools can freely adapt our casebook outlines to the idiosyncratic curriculum devised by each individual professor.
- I'm encouraging law students around the country to create local chapters of the club I'm starting at my own law school, "Student WP:Hornbook Editors". Using WP:Hornbook as our headquarters, we're hoping to create a study group so inclusive that nobody will dare not join.
What you can do now:
- 1. Add WP:Hornbook to your watchlist, {{User Hornbook}} to your userpage, and ~~~~ to Misplaced Pages:Hornbook/participants.
- 2. If you're a law student,
- Email http://en.wikipedia.org/WP:Hornbook to your classmates, and tell them to do the same.
- Contact me directly via talk page or email about coordinating a chapter of "Student WP:Hornbook Editors" at your own school.
- (You don't have to start the club, or even be involved in it; just help direct me to someone who might.)
- 3. Introduce yourself to me. Law editors on Misplaced Pages are a scarce commodity. Do knock on my talk page if there's an article you'd like help on.

As you may have already heard, the Misplaced Pages community lost an invaluable member of the community last month. Adrianne Wadewitz was a feminist scholar of 18th-Century British literature, and a prolific editor of the site. The events are as follows:
We hope that you will be able to join us, whether you are an experienced editor or are using Misplaced Pages for the first time. ArbCom elections are now open!
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Misplaced Pages arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
