: when you create a new location map, the display on the template page won't work until after it is created. once it is created, you then have to open it, make no changes, and hit "save page". this is to refresh the cache of the template. I always believe in Third Normal Form - I don't want to supply data more than once. So for example how can I use the value I put in infoxbox:islands as elevation_m within a #expr ? Eg Distance to horizon in km = 3.57 * ((elevation_m)^0.5)<br />

::So the first reference would look like this: <code><nowiki><ref name="Ref1">Reference 1</ref></nowiki></code>.<ref name="Ref1">Reference 1</ref> <br>

You mean I have to explicitly add a <nowiki><ref> ... </ref></nowiki> to each field I'm interested in? Like this? - <code>elevation_m = 40 <nowiki><ref "name=elevation_m"></ref></nowiki></code>. :I have given you the answer to a different question, I think I see what you mean now. You want to to be able to put data from the infobox parameters into the article as hotlinks so if you change the infobox value, the info in the article changes automatically, is that what you mean? As far as I know this is not possible, and it is easier to just repeat the information. Although in saying that you shouldn't need to repeat a lot of the information in an article, like elevation, because the whole point of infoboxes is to list that kind of information. -- ] 03:36, 13 November 2012 (UTC)

:Yes that's what I want to do. It's OK I suppose for fairly static data to be re-entered, such as elevation which isn't likely to change. Something like population though changes at each census or whatever, and it would be a bore to have to go through looking for all occurrences, and also open to error and/or omission. In infobox:settlement it is possible to re-use some info by putting it in brackets - (population) but that is not universal and I think only works inside the box.<br />:] (]) 04:17, 13 November 2012 (UTC)<br />

== November 2015 ==
:: Being able to re-use infobox parameters within the article text is a great idea, but to my knowledge we don't have such functionality at present. 1. With reference to the allegation that CMS founder Dr Jagdish Gandhi stopped a Pakistani school from participating in 2014 International Students' Cricket Premier League, it may be noted that during that time, tensions were running high between India and Pakistan because of the beheading of some Indian s oldiers at the India-Pakistan border. Due to the security concerns prevailing during that period, especially when anti-Pakistan sentiment was high, the school management was not sure if it was the right time for Pakistani children to come to India. Later, it was found that the student team from Pakistan was also denied visas by the Indian Embassy to travel to India. CMS is the only school in the world ever to receive the UNESCO Prize for Peace Education (in 2002) for its work to unite warring countries in order to secure a safe future for the children the world over. As well as its pen friends program (“Aao Dosti Karein”) with children in Pakistani schools, CMS has invited, welcomed and hosted a large number of delegations from Pakistani schools over the years.{{efn-lg|{{cite news|last1=Hindustan|first1=Times|title=Message from Pak students: Aaodosti karein…|url=http://www.hindustantimes.com/lucknow/message-from-pak-students-aao-dosti-karein/story-E5X94AhghGiy2O3R05jrGO.html|accessdate=2 November 2015|agency=HT Correspondent}}}}{{efn-lg|{{cite news|last1=Dubey|first1=Mohit|title=It's Shah Rukh and Metro over Kashmir for Pakistan's Gen Next|url=http://www.theweekendleader.com/Culture/1402/let's-be-friends.html|accessdate=2 November 2015|agency=IANS|date=8 November 2012}}}}{{efn-lg|{{cite news|last1=PISHAROTY|first1=SANGEETA BAROOAH|title=Pals we are!|url=http://www.thehindu.com/todays-paper/tp-features/tp-metroplus/pals-we-are/article3787052.ece|accessdate=2 November 2015|agency=The Hindu|date=18 August, 2012}}}}{{efn-lg|{{cite news|first1=Correspondent|title=Math whizz brings home a bronze medal from India|url=http://tribune.com.pk/story/481389/math-whizz-brings-home-a-bronze-medal-from-india/|accessdate=2 November 2015|agency=The Express Tribune|date=19 December, 2012}}}}{{efn-lr|{{cite web|last1=Vimeo|title=Dear CMS Lucknow, Hello!|url=https://vimeo.com/55268616|website=Vimeo.com|accessdate=2 November 2015}}}}{{efn-lg|{{cite news|last1=Live|first1=TV India|title=Grand inauguration of Confluence-2013, an International Festival of World Unity and World Peace|url=http://tvindialive.org/grand-inauguration-confluence-2013-international-festival-world-unity-world-peace/|accessdate=2 November 2015|agency=TV India Live|date=7 December 2013}}}}{{efn-lg|{{cite news|last1=Report|first1=Staff|title=Pakistanis light 'candle of peace' in Lucknow|url=http://archives.dailytimes.com.pk/national/21-Aug-2006/pakistanis-light-candle-of-peace-in-lucknow|accessdate=2 November 2015|agency=Daily TImes|date=21 August, 2006}}}}{{efn-lg|{{cite news|last1=Dubey|first1=Mohit|title=Kids blame media for portraying India and Pakistan as enemies|url=http://www.theweekendleader.com/Culture/1402/let's-be-friends.html|accessdate=2 November 2015|agency=The Weekend Leader}}}}

2. The allegation about the school hiking the fee gives a partial and imbalanced picture. The full press release at of says, "With 20 branches, City Montessori School (CMS) has hiked the nursery, Montessori and kindergarten (KG) fees by 16% compared to last year. The school management has increased the fee for other classes by less than 10%. " The fact about the school increasing the fee only by less than 10% (8% to be more accurate) has been hidden from the material on the ‘Controversies’ page. CMS is probably the only school which is so transparent about its fee structure that it publishes a dossier every year clearly stating the new fee for various classes for the session. No other school probably publishes the fee dossier for the benefit of its parents and the public.
I just created ] but now realise I should have left out the comma. {{helpme-helped}}

3. With regard to CMS refusing admission to 13 poor children under the RTE Act (Right to Education Act) and the contempt notice by the Allahabad High Court in September, 2015, the fact is that the school had approached the Supreme Court of India to appeal against the decision of the Allahabad High Court, and to make such an appeal for a ‘stay’ against a lower court’s order is legal under Indian law. The school itself had approached the High Court first against the directive of the Basic Education Officer in April 2015 to admit 31 poor children as that directive was not in accordance with the legal state rules for the implementation of RTE Act. It is not unlawful anywhere in the world to approach the courts against the directive which are not found in accordance with law. Once the Supreme Court's directive came, the school immediately admitted the said 13 children the very next day, as is evident from the press release here.{{efn-lg|{{cite news|last1=Network|first1=Times News|title=http://epaperbeta.timesofindia.com//Article.aspx?eid=31813&articlexml=CMS-admits-13-poor-kids-on-SC-directive-30092015002028|url=http://epaperbeta.timesofindia.com//Article.aspx?eid=31813&articlexml=CMS-admits-13-poor-kids-on-SC-directive-30092015002028|accessdate=10 November 2015|agency=Times of India|date=30 September, 2015}}}} The matter is still sub-judice before the Supreme Court with the last order of the court saying that the 13 schools should be admitted forthwith as an interim measure so that their education does not suffer, however, should there be found vacancies in other nearer schools in the vicinity of the residences of the children (as claimed by the appellant), the Supreme Court may order the shifting of these children to those nearby schools.

4. With regard to the matter of slapping of a student by a CMS teacher causing him to bleed from one ear and a subsequent filing of a police complaint against him, the fact is, a thorough enquiry was conducted by the CMS management in the case and it was found that though the teacher had indeed slapped the student. While CMS does not condone the action of the teacher the behavior of the student (snatching the lunch-box of a much younger student and throwing it) leaves much to be desired. The student later apologized to the teacher for his behaviour and the parents withdrew the police case against the teacher. The teacher in question also submitted his clarification and an apology. The school has a zero-tolerance policy towards corporal punishment and this is strictly enforced.

5. Regarding the case of a student of CMS Mahanagar Campus I committing suicide allegedly due to harassment from his school principal, the case is still sub-judice. No judgement has been delivered and the culpability of the Principal has not been established. She must be held to be innocent until proven guilty, as per Misplaced Pages rule which says, "A person accused of a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty and convicted by a court of law. For relatively unknown people, editors must seriously consider not including material in any article suggesting that the person has committed, or is accused of committing, a crime unless a conviction is secured. If different judicial proceedings result in seemingly contradictory judgements that do not override each other, refrain from using pithy descriptors or absolutes and instead use more explanatory information."

Thanks for your time. I was going to reply earlier, but the internet was off all night (this is China - anything can happen!). Regarding ], in fact barangay was already wikified in the infobox, and my understanding was that wikilinks shouldn't really appear more than once. I am in fact generally puzzled by infoboxes - my thinking is that they should provide at-a-glance basic info, and the article itself should provide something more substantial, whereas others say the infobox should merely contain a summary of facts embedded in the article. This seems rather pointless, apart from duplication, it means that a lot of key information needs to be hunted out by the enquirer.

:Concerning article assessments, a good bit of it is subjective. Some of the wikiprojects have more specific guidelines and generally, the higher you go up the "class" ladder, the more specific requirements there are. Unfortunately, sometimes people have put their class assessments on some articles without regard to any actual guidelines. If you disagree with some assessment, or, at least, question it, it is best to post a question about it on that article talk page and/or at the associated project talk page. -- ] (]) 16:57, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

:Regarding the infobox and linking of terms in an article: Yes, the term should generally be linked only once in the article text. This does not include the infobox though. Infoboxes usually should have the terms linked there as well. ] has info about linking. I'm not sure where the confusion of what goes in the infoboxes comes from. Providing both at-a-glance basic info and a summary of facts in the article is not contradictory. The infoboxes themselves are generally summaries of facts contained in the articles. However, it depends on the type of infobox. Sometimes it includes stuff not in the article (and, if so, should have a cite with it). I would say, for now, just keep adding what you think should be in it. If others disagree, they'll take it out and provide reasons why. -- ] (]) 16:57, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

I just left that on at the time because, even though you had added a lot of references, it appeared to have several sections still unreferenced completely or depend on one ref that doesn't cover all the info there. Thank you for your note. Perhaps you would give me an example of what you consider was major editing. I never want to do that as I usually know very little about the subject; I just do cosmetic work. About the dates: Misplaced Pages doesn't care what style is used, but the same style has to be used throughout the article. And I remember not changing some of the &'s. As I recall, the ones I didn't change where in the boxes listing the various denominations of coins. I didn't feel it necessary to change them since they weren't in text. Misplaced Pages guidelines don't allow "&" in the text.

Many thanks for your kind assistance in reducing the multiple references I added to the above article. There seems, however, to be a problem with how the amended version is appearing: page numbers appear behind the reference numerals in the text, and the reference vol. number appears in bold for no reason. Is that something you could tweak further to make it display more correctly? And could you satisfy my curiosity on the following point. :Thanks for your latest suggestion. It occurs to me that I may have been reacting to seeing a form of citation I wasn't used to. I've looked at a couple of previous articles I've created and see that I didn't give specific page references, so when multiple references were removed, no page numbers appeared next to the citation numerals in the text. It seems that the only time I've specified pages in the past has been in the case of single references. By the way, China seems a long way from Norfolk. It's not as if you can just nip down to the pub after a hard day. I hope you're managing to keep your spirits up! Saunders Street was one of those parts of Edinburgh where horrible old slum housing which could have been saved and renovated was demolished and replaced with what's there now. But at least you had good shops and a pub or two round the corner. ] (]) 23:48, 9 December 2012 (UTC)

::Thanks for your brief bio. Knowing Edinburgh so well, I feel a great empathy. B&B in Leith? Boy, you must have had a hard time (unless it was in the Hermitage area facing the Links). Annandale Street - hardly a tree in sight and yet it was originally the (second) location of the Botanics before they moved to Inverleith. The little green park you may remember from around the corner has been nicely spruced up with a little tree named after Charles Darwin. I used to play there on a bike when I was a kid. It was really neglected then. And having to face the climb up Gloucester Lane first thing in the morning! That takes fortitude, although it is a shortcut. See if you recognise this ] And you may also appreciate this caption ] Click on the link to the police cells before you say too much about your current host country's timeline position. I've done quite a few captions using McGonagall which you'll find if you put his name in the www.geograph search box, top right. Here's a good starting point ] You know, I think the guy was very clever. I thought, when I was younger, that he must have been some kind of buffoon, but on closer acquaintance with his life and work I realise it was all a big music-hall style act that earned him a living during what was for most people very tough times in the struggle for survival. If you want to explore Stockbridge on that site, you'll find some very interesting phenomena, such as the mysterious leaf sculptures which appeared overnight a while back, only a stone's throw from Saunders Street. And, no, the blocks of flats haven't been replaced yet. If their predecessors were anything to go by, I'd give them another hundred years. A friend of mine was telling me recently how the kids in that area used to go along to Saunders Street with their fishing nets and try to capture the rats - before your time. But, back to the referencing. If you look at the Leith Links View history, you'll see I did try changing from book to journal, but saw no difference in the page display. Both seem to show the page numerals outside the citation, as I think they are meant to do. I must say I don't particularly like the style, but if it's normal on Misplaced Pages, I'll go with it. ] (]) 02:48, 10 December 2012 (UTC)
:::{{tps}} As far as using the reference pages template outside of reused ], that is standard to have them this way. Alternatively, instead of <nowiki>{{rp|14}}</nowiki> which gives you {{rp|14}}, you can use <nowiki>{{rp|page=14}}</nowiki> which will give you {{rp|page=14}}. For multiple pages use <nowiki>{{rp|pages=14–23}}</nowiki> which gives you {{rp|pages=14–23}}. Just need to keep it consistent in the article. :::I've seen your latest message and the one that was mistakenly posted to your talkpage when intended for mine (I think). I'm now set up with various options and will plump for the one I think best once I'm more familiar with them. I hope you had a wee wander through Stockbridge on www.geograph.org.uk and found stuff like this ]. Your comments on arriving in Edinburgh and living there reminded me of my foray south to London, probably, I'm guessing, when I was about the same age as you were when you arrived in Edinburgh. My equivalent of rain hitting you horizontally was getting up at what seemed like an unearthly hour in Ealing in the dark and travelling to work by Underground in the dark. I thought "this nightmare can't last". It didn't. I had a good year and a half in what can be quite a thrilling place, but a lonely one if you don't grow up there and know many people. Then, one day, a work colleague from Bermondsey, who was married to a Glasgow girl, said to me "What are you doing here anyway? Why don't you go back to Scotland and get a decent life?" He was right. I was living like a poor immigrants always do when they reach the metropolis. I was really no better off in terms of prospects than someone in a South American shanty town. I took his advice and have never looked back. Now my wannabe actress daughter is following in my footsteps, living in poverty in Camden. It depresses me when I see how she has to wrap up at night to go to bed rather than switch on a central heating system to keep warm (not that the rest of us can afford that nowadays!). ] (]) 11:10, 10 December 2012 (UTC)

:Just back from an afternoon's exploration of the area around the Grange, mainly to get a photograph for the ] page I wrote up the other day. Re your last message: Now that's spooky. I lived and worked for a short time in Acton. I can't remember the address but the view from my room overlooked the old Ealing Studios. I liked the Ealing shopping area, even though I didn't know at that point that the Stones had started playing in John Mayall's Blues Club in the High Street before they were 'discovered' at the Crawdaddy Club in Richmond. Wish I had known. That would have been a shrine for official fan club member No.1783 (or thereabouts - I reckon there were more than that in the queues at the Crawdaddy). I worked at the time in a nondescript industrial estate in Acton, working out on a slide rule bonuses for drivers distributing Younger's Ales (hence the Scottish connection). Unfortunately, an industrial dispute blew up and the workers identified me, rather unfairly, with management. One night as I left work a lorry returning from the Thetford Depot swerved close enough to me that I had to pin myself against a wall to save myself. That's when I thought it was time to go and, luckily, I landed a humble job with Reuters in Fleet Street. That was much more civilised, but I still had to wander through the danger spots of Peckham after moving there (almost as dangerous as Leith). ] (]) 17:39, 10 December 2012 (UTC)
:::I don't remember a school. I was in a bedsit in a detached house on the east side of the studio lot (the road running north-south - is that North Acton Road?) and seem to remember a lane and entrance to it which I assume from memory must have run between the houses. There was never any and coming and going, so I suspect this was a back entrance. It was a BBc studios, which I assumed they'd taken over from the old Ealing Film Studios. I'll check it some time on Streetview, but right now I'm very preoccupied with trying to improve, i.e. totally rewrite the Burgh Muir page. ] (]) 14:58, 11 December 2012 (UTC)

== Ylla: Hatari! ==

Greetings and thank you for including the film Hatari! and how Ylla's life and activities inspired Howard Hawks. This is welcome news. I am Ylla's godson and have written a biography that will accompany a selection of her best photographs, soon to be published, and would like to include more information on Hatari! if it is available (had she met Howard Hawks, etc). This example is an important manifestation of memory and the extent of her continued popularity after her death.

I created this web page to help promote Ylla within the world of photography and publishing. You will notice that I moved your insertion further down the page, as I want to first present information directly related to her contribution to photography (Julian Huxley wrote the introduction to her most important book of animal portraiture and Charles Rado was her agent turned executor who created her career).

Thank you in advance for your understanding.

== map width ==

I, personally, think it's odd that the location map in articles like ] is narrower than the other images. if you agree, we should really start a thread at ] or some other centralized location. I tried to revert some of the edits that made the map more narrow, and received some backlash from the editor who introduced the change. ] (]) 19:55, 10 April 2013 (UTC)

:You mean the location with Phils map? I don't like that at all, because the shading makes it hard for me to see anything, and like you say, it's narrower. The alternative would be to replace it with one wider, which implies taller.

:That editor has made several changes with which I disagree, claiming some sort of standardisation. I think anything which removes knowledge or functionality is a bad move - Misplaced Pages is a fount of information (or should be), not a fashion magazine. He is not amenable to any sort of criticism, and basically in my view, has made several pages completely ugly, partly by moving pictures away from their subject, thus opening up a lot of white space. I think the demographics population change box, apart from also being ugly, has some demonstrably dubious mathematics. I think the basic subdivision title should be 'barangay' not 'barangays'. I don't like galleries in general, because they divorce pictures from their topics, and also because they offer unviewable pictures little larger than a postage stamp.

:How do you suggest we go about any move?

:] (]) mytime= Thu 06:54, wikitime= 22:54, 10 April 2013 (UTC)
:: perhaps start a thread in some centralized location, make some suggestions about what should be the standard format, and then go from there. we could start with say the format of the infobox, or other common sections. we could mention that ] that suggests that images should be located near text, etc. I will start watching your talk page, so you don't need to use the wb or tb templates, unless you want to do so :) ] (]) 23:29, 10 April 2013 (UTC)

::My trouble is I find it hard to be nice to people I don't like, and I find this user one of a small group who act according to their own personal notions, make destructive contributions rather than mending things which are broken. If you start a talk I'll follow you. ] (]) mytime= Thu 12:55, wikitime= 04:55, 11 April 2013 (UTC)

It is interesting that my efforts to create consistent infoboxes and information are considered "destructive". Frietjes, we may disagree on the pushpin mapsize, but you are equally concerned about having a "consistent appearance across all of WP". I am merely following the pattern that was established by community consensus long before my involvement. Until a new consensus is reached in the wider community, that's what I do. But looks like John's critism is purely subjective, using words like "ugly" and "I don't like". -- '''<font color="#199199">]</font>'''&nbsp;&nbsp;<big>]</big> 14:23, 11 April 2013 (UTC)

My understanding was that I am able to express my own opinions on my own talk page.

I think ''any'' intervention which removes valid information from a working page is destructive. Case in point is removal of 'military time zones'. That is a simple and well-used method for referring to local times without needing the technicalities of e.g. UTC+8.

I think as far as possible information should be presented in a single place, and that was what the infobox purports to be, as well as the page itself. The infobox is supposed to present information in a nutshell, with expansion of some in the article itself. No need to send the viewer off to other pages (such as commons) when the information could be presented at the origin. Gathering photos together arbitrarily to form a gallery is the opposite of helpful, and as ] says, not desirable. The images should be shown in context.

Including information which is demonstrably false, as I have shown with {{tl|Philippine Census}}, is undesirable, regardless of the aesthetics of its presentation. Similarly offering information which is unviewable, such as the Philippine pushpin map, is a waste of page space. Not everyone views in wide-screen. Me for instance, with my 10" notebook, or a lot of people with tablets and smart phones. They don't want white space, they want succinctly presented info, obtainable with the minimum of clicks.

I haven't yet seen any evidence of any ''community consensus'' despite asking more than once. Standards only work if they are published and publicized. And of course open to development. Anything else is personal fancy.

I'm definitely reverting that. Did you not see the IN CREATION flag that you deleted? Yes, the article is screwed up, in a lot of ways. Yes, it probably was ridiculously overlinked. If you notice from the list on the talk page, (and the edit history, yes, it's long) we've had like four different people collaborating on this, and other people giving input.

You deleted my hidden note, the in creation flag, half a damn paragraph leaving a sentence fragment, and an entire citation. Pay attention to what the hell you are doing!

Also, some of the text you changed (for instance, the school has a dropped ceiling, but it is NOT an acoustic ceiling) specifically introduced incorrect statements into the article, and removed things that were correct (the 'preservation expert' IS specifically a historic preservation expert, which you deleted.

AS THE FLAG SAYS, DO NOT EDIT THIS ARTICLE UNNECESSARILY, and LOOK AT THE TALK PAGE FIRST!

Making this article (specifically, doing all the text) is part of a graduate school assignment for a brand new wikipedian. PLEASE do not screw with it. ] (]) 05:16, 1 May 2013 (UTC)

Yes, I did see the {{tl|in creation}} flag, as well as the comment both of which I removed. (And so has another editor subsequently).

Yes I took out a lot of absurd wikilinks.

I don't know what half paragraph/sentence fragment you mean. Yes, I removed inappropriate material only peripherally associated with the article's subject, and that certainly included at least one citation.

Removing wikilinks does not change the text - the acoustical ceiling was already there.

Amongst the 128 edits over the previous two days, between you the project has not really moved forward. In fact backward. You also reverted the list of references which I had made from the various contortions in the text, and between you you saw fit to move them all back. For what end?

Any articles you write for Misplaced Pages should be complete when put live. Development should be in your sandbox, not in the live article.

Read ]. Read the documentation for the templates you use, including {{tl|dm}}, {{tl|cn}}, {{tl|rp}} and of course {{tl|in use}}. Also read ] and ]

] (]) mytime= Wed 18:55, wikitime= 10:55, 1 May 2013 (UTC)

:Several things.
::1. Though I originally wrote that note, I was not the one who put it there or hid it.
::2. I am well aware of WP:OWNER, and I am not the person who put it live. That was done by a brand new editor who posted the text she wrote in Word into the new article. Because of the nature of her assignment, we were trying to let her work on the text while other people worked on the formatting and such.
::3. When you messed with the references before the 10+ references to the nomination form were seriously broken, including missing section and page numbers. Other refs had also lost page numbers. The /original/ reference list included no inline cites, had 10+ references to 'ibid', etc.
::: The references now to that are templatized for both the NRHP citation itself, and use rp for the section and page numbers. The majority of the my edits were me slowly and carefully fixing the refs so I didn't lose data while fixing it.
:::I was specifically editing only sections to try to avoid edit conflicts, and so could not see the format of the references without committing the edit. Also, there were a /lot/ of incidental broken tags after fixing the refs that did not display errors until I commited the edit.
::4. As far as the 'half a paragraph with a fragment', sorry, that was a misreading of the way the diff was displayed. For some reason I was seeing splits that weren't there, and the bottom of the para was hidden off the screen. I apologize for that.
::5. The reference you completely deleted (the NHRP criteria) was not currently actually 'used' as a source, explicitly, except for the fact that the quote from the OTHER cite in that sentence was a direct quote from the criteria. I realized this last night, added the new source, and addressed on the talk page that the paragraph needed to be rewritten. The intent was to use about four quotes from it as lead ins to the sections of 'eligibity' that are specifically about how the school is 'special' in those ways. Deleting it was entirely unhelpful.
::6. You also deleted the ORIGINAL cite there, which was the reference for what criteria the school was approved under, leaving half the para with no cites.
Yes, ] and all that. Help with working on the article is welcome. Ignoring that there is a collaborative work on it going on, and making an edit with a summary that talks about OVERLINK but edits the text, is not.

As far as the templates, the 'data missing' was added when that cite had a page number that got lost in the conversion to inline cites, to remind me to dig it out of the edit history. I missed deleting it when I fixed the ref.
The 'citation needed' on the section is because that whole section, while sourced, is missing the specific citations.
When I was using the 'in use' flag, it was after I got edit conflicts that made me lose a LOT of work on fixing the refs, because of bot edits.
The 'nonstandard' use of the rp template was not added by me. It was initially added, after discussion, by another editor as the best way to deal with all the repeated cites to pages and sections of the nomination form. The nonstandard use is actually documented properly in the displayed citation, if you look at it.

As far as etiquette, when people ignore the Talk page and make edits with incorrect summaries, it admittedly tends to get a poor reaction from me. Also, because of the difference between the edit summary and what you actually did, if looked like you were being /extremely/ careless. ] (]) 13:03, 1 May 2013 (UTC)

Please look at , specifically how the reference list was formatted BEFORE I spent several hours reformatting and debugging it. ] (]) 13:24, 1 May 2013 (UTC)

BTW, looking back, your version of the references was completely gone, and in the version I linked above, before I even got involved. The problem was that Gags had NO IDEA how to properly add references, and not all were in the text who you worked on it. ] (]) 13:37, 1 May 2013 (UTC)

Actually, having my attention drawn to your version of the refs is helpful, and I thank you for that. Gags had lost metadata you added, and I can retrieve it from the old version instead of having to re-reserch it. ] (]) 13:55, 1 May 2013 (UTC)

== Apology ===

I owe you an apology for how I reacted. My excuse, to be honest, is that every single 'argument' I get into with another wikipedian has been the direct result of my seeing what appeared to be a refusal to discuss, including many ways I have tried to politely ask people to read or consider something before they do an edit. Like I mentioned, putting it as a 'hidden note' like that was not my idea (it was moved there by someone else with over 100,000 edits). I also get /really/ irritated when I am working on something, and someone uninvolved (your last work on this was prior to the /ton/ of work I've done on this) makes an edit that changes things that are only apparent from a diff.
: My tendency to get pissed off so quickly at things that have been a repeated issue like this is a personal failing, and a direct symptom of a medical condition I have. I need a HUGE injection of ] at times, not because of a feeling of 'ownership', but because of....well, lets skip the autopsychoanalysis.
: It was not my intent to 'block' or 'drive away' the input or collaboration of other editors. That is /always/ a good thing. It was my intent to let people know that there was an ongoing collaboration (though noone else is working now, and I was actually taking a break from that article for a while) about writing the entire article, and to.....communicate. ] (]) 20:53, 1 May 2013 (UTC)

Apology accepted. As I said in my original {{tl|copyedit}} the article needs substantial pruning because it says the same things at least three times. In addition, there are irrelevancies which have no place in that article. And as for those absurd wikilinks ...

The way to move the article forward is '''not''' to revert contributions but to consider what they mean. And as I said, you ought to work out the article fairly fully before putting it live. That's what your sandbox is for.

I've got no idea which major this is meant to be a graduate assignment for. ] (]) mytime= Thu 09:48, wikitime= 01:48, 2 May 2013 (UTC)

:She mentions on her userpage that she's studying history, etc. She's not a 'computer' person at all, and trying to teach her how to do the actual editing in a 'more wiki friendly' way this point would make her even more confused. I got involved with this because she was repeatedly asking for help various places with how to do fairly basic 'technical' things. This was after her initial creation of the article. Take a glance at what she originally put live. The article was also initially misnamed.
:Because of the issues of how it was being edited by her, the citations were EXTREMELY screwed up. She had used 'ibid' inline, and then relocated the text without changing the cite. The ref tags were all in the right place, but nearly all of the citations were not to where they were supposed to be. When I was changing the cites with all those edits, I was actually specifically referring to the original text and tracing down the actual page of every citation.
:Because of the intricacy of the changes, and how long it was taking, there was a substantial period where another editor making ANY changes to the live article would have completely fucked it up again, or I would have been forced to blank all of their changes when I incorporated my fixes. The only way I could figure out to do it, and avoid edit conflicts (I had several during this process, with both Gags and bots), was to tendentiously edit and commit a huge number of small changes. This was EXTREMELY tedious.
:You're right about the text that was there, I was just trying to let her do the actual writing (I do NOT write copy, btw, I suck at it) and let other editors know that and why. She needs to actually learn how to do it, instead of just having it 'done'.
:Without actually rewriting anything but the lead, I completely reorganized the text and removed quite a bit of the redundancy. Hopefully it is a /lot/ better now, and I would appreciate you looking at it. The issue with the 'style' of the original text was huge, simply because it was written as a 'research paper' instead of a 'encyclopedia article'
:A long-standing point of aggravation with me is when editors undo something because it was 'incorrectly done' without actually doing it the right way, giving any feedback about how to do it the right way, or clearly communicating what they are doing. Honestly, trying to avoid conflict over things like that is a large part of why, over the 7 years or so I've been contributing to WP, I've in the past not gotten involved with the 'community' here at all and just done 'invisible' things like adding data to the infoboxes on asteroid stubs. (There are a /ton/ of those, that are horrible because they are nothing but an infobox, and not even marked as a stub. I think they were created automatically. At least the infoboxes are correct on a bunch now). ] (]) 20:10, 2 May 2013 (UTC)

::As my name says, right now I'm in transit, but should stabilise in a couple of days. Not sure about internet though! Then I'll take a considered look at the article, when it should itself have stabilised too.

::I was going to set up a {{tl|cite isbn}} for Salge, but saw you'd beaten me to it. And you'd made the same mistake I did - change the name to include the check-digit!

::One thing I hate is those editors who are out to notch up their edits score, so make inane and pointless changes but don't stop to check the results, so ] often shows the result. Bots which remove multiple spaces, which are there for a reason; changing the sequence of references (so they're ascending) without moving any associated {{tl|rp}}; etc. Things which would perhaps be OK as part of a larger edit, but in themselves are not the slightest bit constructive. I imagine your asteroids are in there. I have the same with very small villages in Eastern Europe or further east, with no notability whatsoever, or bottom-ranking professional sportspeople whose only claim to notability is that they once kicked a ball in a park.

== Notdirectory vs notable buildings ==

Hi Johnmperry, I am familiar with Notdirectory, but the churches you removed from two neighbourhoods of Montevideo do not seem to fall under that policy. When we describe a populated place we usually include among other its main street(s), main square(s), monuments, landmarks, museums, churches, educational institutions, sport venues, tourist attractions, rail stations (and more generally transport system), main hospitals and more. These are not "loosely associated topics", but very much connected to the place described and make it be what it is. When we come to hotels, supermarkets, gasoline stations, cinemas and so on, then we do enter the yellow pages area and I can see how the Notdiectory policy applies. Even in this policy section it is mentioned "Of course, there is nothing wrong with having lists if their entries are famous because they are associated with or significantly contribute to the list topic." "Places of worship" is a valid topic/section for a populated place and its cathedrals contribute to the topic. ] <small>]</small> 08:16, 2 May 2013 (UTC)

Just to point out that per ], "If anyone, including the article creator, removes a {{tl|proposed deletion}} tag from an article, do not replace it, even if the tag was apparently removed in bad faith. My mistake, I assumed your "Undid revision by" edit summary was literal. Her being the last surviving service member of WWI seems , unless I've misunderstood your point, and going from being "last service member to still be alive" to "last service member to die" doesn't seem much of a change in significance. By all means AfD it if you think it merits discussion, though. --] (]) 10:28, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

== Morecambe ==

John - Morecambe and LONSDALE is different to Morecambe and LUNESDALE, so there needs to be two separate articles. Further, the redirect omits three or four election results, so I've made the article BETTER

Please do not revert in such a rude and disruptive manner again.

] ]] 15:37, 9 July 2013 (UTC)

:For ignorance, try you. I understand you don't know the difference between Lonsdale and Lunesdale, or that the two constituencies are different? Each UK Parliamentary constituency has its own article, as each constituency is different. Whilst you look for a map to confirm what I'm saying is true, I'll go back to fixing what you're breaking. You'll note that I'm filling in missing election results, by the way, so am making a new article better than the existing one.

Also please read my comments on ]. ] (]) 21:48, 13 July 2013 (UTC)

== ] and ] ==

Before you revert any more of my edits, I urge you take a much more careful look at the actual changes I made. You are jumping to conclusions that are not warranted. In particular:
* ]:
** ''Nothing has changed as far as the citations look.'' () – Please carefully compare outputs and your edits, especially how authors are formatted. The original citation format used a ] author system. The {{tl|cite pmid}} template uses first1, last1, first2, last2 author parameters which renders the authors to include periods after author first initials, first and last names separated by a comma and authors separated by semicolons. The Vancouver system omits the periods and the comma between the last and first names.
** ''They just come from a standardized place.'' – Both ] that you used and that I used obtain their data from the same place: ]. Furthermore I ran Citation bot afterwards () to make certain all the data in the citations were complete and accurate.
** ''Moreover, because I made all the references alphabetical'' – In my subsequent , I ''preserved'' the alphabetical order of the further reading section.
** ''] is much easier'' – Again, in my subsequent , I ''preserved'' the list defined references.
** Finally as described ], there are legitimate reservations about using {{tl|cite pmid}} templates.
* ]:
** ''There was no citation style. A mixture of all sorts.'' () – your edits, the was a predominate style that used {{tl|cite journal}} templates. Furthermore all the citations were directly in the article and none were transcluded using {{tl|cite pmid}} templates. After your edits, there was a mixture of transcluded and non-transcluded citations.
** ''No consensus for rollback to version with information missing or wrong'' () – Please take a look at the results of my edits. I retained all of the ]s that you had added. In addition, I inserted several additional PMIDs that were previously missing (5 to be exact, compare vs. ). Your subsequent reversion removed these 5 PMIDs. Finally I had ran followed by ] () to make sure all the data in the cite journal templates were accurate and complete.
** ''You have obviously not spent any time at all'' – <ahem>, please take the time to look at the results of my edits and not jump to conclusions.
Thank you. ] (]) 04:22, 14 July 2013 (UTC)

: One advantage of both ] and {{tl|cite pmid}} that you have pointed out is that they both reduce clutter within the raw article text. However using both methods at the same time is redundant and unnecessary. Either method alone would reduce clutter. The disadvantage shared by both methods is that they separate the citation from the text making it more difficult for editors to see the connections between the two and for editors to spot and correct errors in the citations. (Please don't try to claim that the citation bot never makes errors, sometimes it ].) Using both methods simultaneously compounds the problem. Finally including the "noedit" parameter in the {{tl|cite pmid}} templates makes it very difficult for editors, especially new editors, to find the raw citation data. Using all three methods together (LDR, transcluded templates, and transcluded templates with the "noedit" parameter) becomes ridiculous.

: IMHO, the best compromise is to use LDRs and non-transcluded citation templates. While making slightly more difficult for editors to find the raw citation data, at least with this compromise, the raw citation data is still included in the same article. An additional advantage of non-transcluded templates are that they allow variations in citation formatting to suit editors preferences. The {{tl|cite pmid}} and {{tl|cite doi}} templates enforce one type of citation style and this is contrary to ] (see for example this ]). Finally transcluded templates, especially if many are used in the same document, can considerably slow down page load times making editing more frustrating. ] (]) 11:01, 14 July 2013 (UTC)

Why've you reverted my edit? It wasn't at all unconstructive - I brought all the data up to date, with 2010 population figures, and I removed all the dead links. Like I said on the edit summary.

Unlike other people, I spend time verifying what I read. And I mean '''time'''! I also worked on ] this morning, and am currently working on ]. They're two different places, as are Sillon, Bantayan and ] despite what the current qua{{nbhyph}}owner thinks.

] (]) mytime= Thu 11:43, wikitime= 03:43, 30 October 2014 (UTC)

:It's good to know that you're not intending to make disruptive edits.

:The proper way to resolve dead links is to either: 1) tag the citation information with the ] tag - or 2) use wayback.com to get the archiveurl and archivedate to add to the citation. Someone spent their time at one point to properly research and cite the information and removing the citation altogether is not the right tack to take.

:Some edits seem disruptive. Information is updated, but I'm not consistently seeing citations. And, you cricitize overlinking and then link common words like asphalt. That's why it seems disruptive.

:I see that you removed the welcome message that had links to commons guidelines, which I think would be helpful to keep as references. But of course, that's your choice.--] (]) 03:55, 30 October 2014 (UTC)

::The info is dead and superseded – 2007 census etc. – so no point in wasting time researching its accompany dead links. The official Tagbilaran city government web site no longer shows that info ("under construction" ..) and there is no barangay web site. Yes, I criticise overlinking, which predominantly means linking the same site more than once on a page. cf ] which is linked 3 times each on ] and ], and twice on ]. And just because you know everything about an ] road surface (or think you do) doesn't mean everyone does.

::] (]) mytime= Thu 12:10, wikitime= 04:10, 30 October 2014 (UTC)

:::You removed citation info where there was no change to the information. And if you're adding new data, then instead of a citation needed template - you should post the source.

:::To help better describe some of my confusion: when you changed |area_total_km2 --> |area_land_km2, then the population density calculation wouldn't auto calculate, so you put added the expression <nowiki>{{#expr: 17114/2.044 round 0}}</nowiki>, which means that other editors would have to pick up the changes, too. Why change an automatic function?

:::Like I said above, there are always kernels of good edits that you make, but there's enough disruptive editing that it would take time to sort out what can stay and what needs to be corrected.---] (]) 04:15, 30 October 2014 (UTC)

::::Regarding ] - it's not necessarily wrong to link a place more than once in an article. The guidelines say no more than once per section. But, I wouldn't have a problem with elimination of multiple links in an article. Overlinking also means linking common words, like countries, asphalt, concrete, etc.--] (]) 04:22, 30 October 2014 (UTC)

:::::In the case of the ] article (I wasn't in any way involved in the others), it's linked once in the body of an initial section and then within the <nowiki>{{main}}</nowiki> template for that section. I wouldn't think that was overlinking... It would be wrong to remove the link to the initial use of the article name... and it makes sense to have the main template for that section. Are you thinking one of them should be removed? Which one?--] (]) 04:31, 30 October 2014 (UTC)

::::::] says "Generally, a link should appear only '''once''' in an article, but if helpful for readers, links may be repeated in infoboxes, tables, image captions, footnotes, hatnotes, and at the first occurrence after the lead." Not once per section.
:::::::That guideline has been rewritten, and rightly so. I don't see that in this case the 2013 earthquake is an overlink situation based upon the scenario. You didn't answer my question, so I'm guessing you're fine with it, too.--] (]) 06:52, 30 October 2014 (UTC)
::::::(And btw I think it entirely wrong that so much earthquake information appears – this is an article about XXX Church. If the reader wants to know, s/he can follow the link.)
:::::::If it's a major concern of yours, I would recommend bringing it up on the talk page.--] (]) 06:52, 30 October 2014 (UTC)
::::::It was your reversion which changed {{para|area_total_km2}} to {{para|area_land_km2}}. {{help me-helped}}

I am in the process of merging some small island stubs into an overall umbrella, let's call it Z. Each of these stubs includes a category for island. How do I ensure that the island itself is still categorised so? Do I include within Z a line <nowiki>]</nowiki> for each island? So I'd have a string of entries<br /><nowiki>]</nowiki><br /><nowiki>]</nowiki><br /><nowiki>]</nowiki> etc.

Documentation is not very clear. Or do I need to leave the category behind on the a... redirect page? Ditto of course for other categories.

I have put in some hours working that same tracking category, and I know it's hard because all you see is stupidity and vandalism. If that's what put you in a pissy mood, I can empathize, but the tone of your edit summaries was still over the top and uncalled for. To begin with, you could have observed that the convention in the article is to comment out unused refs, and commented that one out. Done and done. Instead, for some reason you opted to remove the ref, plus two commented-out refs that had nothing to do with the tracking category. Later, after my revert/change that corrected the problem, you didn't stop to notice that (1) the byte count of the reverts had increased from 972 to 977, so something must have changed, or that (2) the article was no longer in the tracking category. Instead, you knee-jerk responded with another revert with nasty comment. I hope this isn't how you interact with other editors all the time. "Wrong is wrong, so stick your convention"? re , the use of special characters on such titles remains an issue, and misunderstandings about such names, with or without special diacriticals or other characters, have seen a lot of chauvinistic comments about native names in general; ultimately in the case of a dispute, TITLE says the choice of the original editor on a title should be respected if nothing else can be agreed upon; {{ping|User:OldManRivers}} is not around anymore, and many of his titles have been changed by people who (a) don't know the topic and (b) don't care that such names are now standard in Canadian ''English'' - albeit when used generally don't have special characters; which is why ] and ] don't have the special characters used when writing in the language those terms originate from.

Xwayxway, with special characters, is the choice of actual Skwxwu7mesh, not just User:OldManRivers (who himself spearheads the language programs for his people); it's a case where PRIMARYTOPIC parameters about googlesearches and stuff do not apply and are overridden by ]. The alternate spellings, which you (incorrectly) unbolded, are various; another modern one is Qwhy-qwhy (used on the ] page I think, Whoi-whoi is much older.

I'd support an RM to move it to ] but feel it's important to respect OldManRivers'choice of that spelling, albeit without his insistence on special characters. Problem with an RM is it will wind up involving people not familiar with the subject matter and who don't care about Canadian English "normalizing"and absorbing such terms into ordinary English, which is now the norm; i.e. such a decision would not be made in an informed basis, but only on cursory and superficial impositions of guidelines, often in conflict with what other guidelines say, and not just ] either. The result, imposed by a consensus by people only familiar with guidelines (so they think) and ''not'' familiar with the subject matter, or Canadian linguistic standards, and WPCANADA conventions about native names in English, may by an older, archaic spelling, e.g. "Whoi whoi" even though that is long in disuse, or is just incorrect as with what happened to ], or confusing like Squamish v. ].

Another issue is that the site was Hwmethkwyem/Musqueam and Tsleil-wau-tuth before the Skwxu7mesh moved to Burrard Inlet early in teh 19th Century; the Qwhy-qwhy version of the name may be from ], which both those bands have as their traditional languages; deciding between Skwxwu7mesh and Hmethkwyem versions of the name may be difficult; what is used by the City of Vancouver or the Vancouver Parks Board, which administers Stanley Park, may be the clincher.] (]) 06:01, 2 March 2015 (UTC)

Xwayxway is at least the preferred Skwxwu7mesh spelling, without diacriticals; whether the Hmehtkwyem name should have precedence is the other issue; let me look into that; and if you wish to do a technical RM on this it may not take an RM, which can be laborious and unproductive if the usual lurkers at the RM board weigh in; they don't know or care about the subject matter or the "territorial"issues of which name to use; I'll do some searches about Qwhy-qwhy vs Xwayxway and get back to you.] (]) 05:49, 4 March 2015 (UTC)

:::{{ping|Buster7}} I really meant to use harv style more for academic stuff. Its main advantage is that you can present a list of sources in alphabetic order (or any, such as chronological), rather than the seemingly random way of regular {{tl|reflist}}. Medical/scientific pages are practically uneditable because they tend to have all the citations inline. I'm quite a stickler as regards citations – if someone's gone to the trouble of writing a paper, it's the least I can do to get their names right, and the name etc. of the article. I put in all contributors even though citations cut off about the 8 mark (and harv at 4). It's no great hardship. ==Refs within refs==
The Directory of North American Painters contains informative and interesting quotes and comments along the edge of the pages with listings for a bibliography in the back pages (687 - 701). :{{pinf|Buster7}} Well first of all you have to be careful about what words you copy – everything you write should be your own, not copying someone else's. You can paraphrase what's written in your own words. As regards the references, I think the main references you should actually see yourself, as others will check, but if it's just to go into a "See also" section then it is probably safe to use the reference without further research. I tend not to myself, because like I said I'm a stickler for facts – I'm a Virgo – so if I'm going to check spellings, title names etc., then that's the research. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia ].

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at ], ''or'' 2) copy this code: <code><nowiki>{{subst:Refund/G13|</nowiki>Draft:John Weber<nowiki>}}</nowiki></code>, paste it in the edit box at <span class="plainlinks"></span>, and click "Save page". An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Afrikaner

Why did you eliminate that pararaph in the last edit you made today in the "Afrikaner" article??? -- Aflis (talk) 23:56, 4 November 2015 (UTC)

Why the reference blanking here? You may have had good reason but the edit summary was entirely insufficient for such a significant and eyebrow raising edit. --Dweller (talk) 10:12, 6 November 2015 (UTC)

Removal of citation on Dark Age of Camelot Article

Can you please explain why you keep removing a citation from the Dark Age of Camelot Article? The first time you put only 'ce' in your edit description (I assume Copy Edit? But removal of content isn't a copy edit). The second time you gave no explanation.Caidh (talk) 04:10, 9 November 2015 (UTC)

Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting showed that Dark Age of Camelot (and Cite error: A list-defined reference named "jennings-macris" is not used in the content (see the help page).) has its substantive text removed, but not its associated reference. So it removes too. Unbuttered parsnip (talk) mytime= Mon 18:32, wikitime= 10:32, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
Please put in a full edit summary.... It's confusing we don't know why you've done it and whether to revert or not. --JQTriple7 (talk) 20:35, 10 November 2015 (UTC)

Anderson

Can you explain why you deleted information about Carl A. Anderson? I'm not sure it sure should be in there either, but without a solid reason to remove it I left it alone. Is there a policy on this type of information? Thanks. --BrianCUA (talk) 16:52, 12 November 2015 (UTC)

Removal of 'Controversies' Section on the page of City Montessori School

This is with regard to your edits on the page of 'City Montessori School' in the 'Controversies' section. I wish to point out that it wrongfully maligns the reputation of this well-known, world's largest school as per the Guinness Book of Records.

I wish to present some references which present the facts:

1. With reference to the allegation that CMS founder Dr Jagdish Gandhi stopped a Pakistani school from participating in 2014 International Students' Cricket Premier League, it may be noted that during that time, tensions were running high between India and Pakistan because of the beheading of some Indian s oldiers at the India-Pakistan border. Due to the security concerns prevailing during that period, especially when anti-Pakistan sentiment was high, the school management was not sure if it was the right time for Pakistani children to come to India. Later, it was found that the student team from Pakistan was also denied visas by the Indian Embassy to travel to India. CMS is the only school in the world ever to receive the UNESCO Prize for Peace Education (in 2002) for its work to unite warring countries in order to secure a safe future for the children the world over. As well as its pen friends program (“Aao Dosti Karein”) with children in Pakistani schools, CMS has invited, welcomed and hosted a large number of delegations from Pakistani schools over the years.

2. The allegation about the school hiking the fee gives a partial and imbalanced picture. The full press release at 'New academic session, new fee structure' of The Times of India says, "With 20 branches, City Montessori School (CMS) has hiked the nursery, Montessori and kindergarten (KG) fees by 16% compared to last year.

Once the Supreme Court's directive came, the school immediately admitted the said 13 children the very next day, as is evident from the press release here. The matter is still sub-judice before the Supreme Court with the last order of the court saying that the 13 schools should be admitted forthwith as an interim measure so that their education does not suffer, however, should there be found vacancies in other nearer schools in the vicinity of the residences of the children (as claimed by the appellant), the Supreme Court may order the shifting of these children to those nearby schools.

I sincerely hope the above clarifications are sufficient to establish that the 'Controversies' section has been inserted with the intent to malign the reputation of a world-renowned school. Therefore, it is my earnest request to kindly remove the section from the page of 'City Montessori School' and oblige.

I am quite aware that this so-called school has nothing to do with the well-known Montessori School. – Unbuttered parsnip (talk) mytime= Thu 03:28, wikitime= 19:28, 18 November 2015 (UTC)

Lawis

1630 and not 1830 to: User:Unbuttered Parsnip Dont make any changes or jump into any statement as not true without showing any basis. I was in Lawis for a visit the structure in front of it was a memorial with its inscription that the Kota was built in year 1790. Basing from this then your 1830 edit will be untrue. on the upper hand I read book written during spanish time I found out that the structure was built in 1630 and not in 1790.... So I didn't follow the year 1790 as the founding date of the Kota which was posted by the municipality of Madridejos but the year 1630 as the founding date as narrated by fray Medina.

you changed facts claiming to be wrong but when ask about your basis or reference you are unable to provide. You are inconsistent with your edits, first the 1630 you change to 1830 then now changed it to 1790 and deleted some references. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mateothehistorian (talkcontribs) 23:28, 24 November 2015 (UTC)

Learn have to make comments. Stop putting you WP:CB in real pages. You have any basis on your nonsense – you ignore reality and choose instead a web blog. De Medina (and Blair & Robertson) had nothing about Lawis, obvious because there is not settlement there. And you have least three different people, unless one man is about 200 years old. And I've been there to Madridejos many times. - Unbuttered parsnip (talk) mytime= Wed 07:53, wikitime= 23:53, 24 November 2015 (UTC)

@Walter Görlitz: Any editor who takes starts with an article syntactically correct and then leaves the article in an Error status is what I call "stupid", and/or blind. Nothing to do with WP:NPA. – Unbuttered parsnip (talk) mytime= Tue 17:00, wikitime= 09:00, 1 December 2015 (UTC)
It has everything to do with NPA. It is unacceptable to insult editors in edit summaries or on talk pages. Stop it. Boghog (talk) 09:20, 1 December 2015 (UTC)
@Boghog: Nothing to do with NPA: maybe you should read it again. Or for the first time. There seem be some editors think it's good to change text from correct to incorrect and not think even to check their balls-up. Quite a lot of them. Not many though cry to their mothers when they're told off. Now fuck off. – Unbuttered parsnip (talk) mytime= Wed 01:16, wikitime= 17:16, 1 December 2015 (UTC)

Information icon Constructive contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, but a recent edit of yours has an edit summary that appears to be inaccurate or inappropriate. Please use edit summaries that accurately tell other editors what you did, and feel free to use the sandbox for any tests you may want to do. Saying "ce" (short for copy edit) when you are just removing refs is not appropriate. Removing refs can leave content in a way that is against WP:V policy and related guidelines. DMacks (talk) 22:54, 13 December 2015 (UTC)

@DMacks: As usual, some twat makes a mess of an edit, but I get told off mending the balls up. When I make edits, I clean any mistakes before commit. Unbuttered parsnip (talk) mytime= Mon 09:11, wikitime= 01:11, 14 December 2015 (UTC)
Calling people "twats" is not very WP:CIVIL, and if this is about the thing there was an WP:ANEW report about, undoing an edit that attempted to be helpful without even a summary is not too cool. We are meant to WP:PRESERVE content, even when it's not "perfect", not undo any edit that, among various possibly useful things, contains some particular "flaw". LjL (talk) 01:17, 14 December 2015 (UTC)
Neither of these are constructive, none of them are simple "ce", and none of them appear to relate to fixing (in any sense) or altering (at all) someone else's recent edit. DMacks (talk) 03:58, 14 December 2015 (UTC)

I did not see any welcome.
Given your recent history, I thought there might be useful information. Like leaving edit summaries, WP:3RR, Edit warring and WP:BRD. Better to light a candle than to curse the dark.
I had not (at least recently) run across your work. Should have looked first. It would have helped if you had an archive on your talk page. But that is up to you I apologize for any offense given.
Nevertheless, it was not my purpose to criticize. I prefer we all work together collegially and I WP:AGF. Happy holidays to you. 7&6=thirteen () 14:27, 22 December 2015 (UTC)
@Unbuttered Parsnip: Bragging about one's seniority and number of edits makes one unprofessional and unethical. Calling an editor "tit" is also a form of personal attack. Also, we don't monopolize Misplaced Pages so don't bite the newcomers or those editors with 1500 edits in 4 years. Just sayin' though. No offense intended. – User:HavenHost (talk) 14:44, 22 December 2015 (UTC)
@Unbuttered Parsnip:: Learn to accept other people's edit. Misplaced Pages is for everybody. Central Visayas particularly Cebu articles is not limited to User:Unbuttered Parsnip only. Avoid jumping into conclusion that the newly added content by other editors for those articles is immediately considered "tosh" in your POV. Give others a chance. Whether they are new editors or less-experienced than an experienced user like you. I hope everything is gonna be fine. User:HavenHost (talk) 05:21, 26 December 2015 (UTC)

Sockpuppet investigation

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Misplaced Pages account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Misplaced Pages:Sockpuppet investigations/Unbuttered Parsnip, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Misplaced Pages administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Misplaced Pages policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Misplaced Pages community.
