| According to noted psychiatrists of last century, specifically the DSM-III (dsm-3), the disorder labeled "pedophilia" was a far cry from the politically-mandated version in the DSM-5. The older versions of the DSM describe pedophiles as "euphoric" and god-like about their love interests in people under the age of consent. Further, it included statistics that boys are "molested" twice as often as girls; feminists probably dismantled that statistic in order to push their agenda of equality, with emphasis on female empowerment. Regardless, the appeal of a boy who is becoming a man has enchanted society since the beginning of organized culture or earlier. The same cannot be said of girls, according to historical documents and accepted reconstructions or extrapolations; whether the male-generated "history" of our society is factual remains somewhat debatable in academic circles. | |||
| Subtetually inherent in the DSM-III is the fact that kids who had sex with adults are just as likely to (want to) have sex with kids as those who never had sex until the age of consent. Meaning: a sexually "abused" child is no more likely to develop pedophilia than a child who had solo masturbation as his or her problem. Stopping pedophiles will never prevent the "disorder" of pedophilia, although the common assumption is in opposition to this concept. In fact, the disorder may be inherent or genetic (as homosexuality is now considered to be, in this liberal year of 2016). | |||
| What's surprising is that a disorder such as pedophilia is deemed a crime punishable by decades in prison, if acted upon in any way, including verbal discussion of the topic. Also of note is the absence of a distinction between child-rapists (those who take victims by force), and adult lovers of children who receive consent from them for sexual activity. On a sidenote: It's interesting that in the United States a minor is allowed to hold a job, drive a two-ton car, emancipate from parents and drop out of high school, but is legally prevented from making sexual choices. Also note: Laws drastically vary by state (with varying age gaps for hetero or homosexual behavior) among prepubescent and adolescents... In some States a 6-year-old boy can be legally "raped" by a 14-year old boy, as just one example of hidden legal loopholes. | |||
