:You're hardly making it neutral, you're interpreting the source to push your own agenda. The legacy section of the article deals with criticism of Trudeau. Stating that some historians, plural, call him overrated is flat-out wrong based on the source. It's only one (the other one is a doctoral student, which shows how difficult it was for MacLeans to find historians to agree with that). == Edward Hopper ==
I feel that's a very strong and aggressive response, for an alleged and fairly innocent mistake. That's how you scare away would-be Wikipedians -- what happened to "be nice to the newbies"? On first reading I found the original Misplaced Pages sentence biased, compare to the quotes in that Maclean's article. I didn't know one couldn't count doctoral students (so dismissing all the great minds who never had PhDs?) Perhaps you should have led with your argument, instead of just reverting my change and accusing me of having an agenda -- I have none -- or vandalizing. I also noticed that the Maclean's article never referred to him as "father of modern Canada", so I removed it. Can't be pushing a specific POV. I hope you treat the next "flat-out wrong" edit with some more grace. <small class="autosigned">—&nbsp;Preceding ] comment added by ] (]) 19:27, 11 March 2016 (UTC)</small><!-- Template:Unsigned IP --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

I have to disagree with you regarding the photograph which you believe to be Nico, performing with the Velvet Underground in Ann Arbor, Michigan, 1966.
== Revert ==

Nico never wore dresses onstage with the Velvets, certainly not flowery patterns! She wore trouser suits. We can verify this was the case for the Ann Arbor show specifically, thanks to a news article covering the actual event: Velvet Underground Live at the Ann Arbor Film Festival, Detroit, Michigan, on the 12th of March 1966. The concert was reviewed by the Detroit Free Press on Tuesday 15 March 1966. The reviewer describes the show as, "a combination of film and live music and dance. While a beautiful blond girl sang, her image was projected on three separate 'screens,' including her own white jacket." The review is accessible online via Newspapers.com - https://www.newspapers.com/image/97864650/?terms=%22Festival%2C%2Band%2Bfilms%2Bby%2BWarhol%22

== Reversed my edits ==

I have another image of Nico onstage with the Velvet Underground in Michigan, November 1966, with Catherine James also in the same shot (in a similar cut of dress and physical posture). In the pic, Nico is wearing her white trouser suit. It's from the same event covered in the Dangerous Minds article, but wasn't included. I can't find the picture online anywhere so can't link to it. I'm afraid I don't have copyright clearance for this picture, but I can upload it here if that's okay?
You have reversed my edits twice about a notable Pakistani. I cannot seem to identify anything that is not properly sourced (in some instances I feel there are a bit too many references). The tone is also matter of fact, without making a positive or negative judgement. :There is a discussion on the talk page. However, it is pretty obvious what the problems are in the article as it is terribly written. What is happening on other Misplaced Pages pages is irrelevant, i.e. "other articles are bad, so let's just leave this one in its bad state". Too many new accounts and anonymous IP editors have come along and removed those tags without making any improvements. The tags are there for editors to know that there are problems. It's standard and it's unclear why so many new editors are concerned with the tags. ]] 17:29, 2 June 2016 (UTC)

I hope you'll agree that this is not actually Nico after all, and I hope you find the materials interesting!
::There are some 60 odd references in the article. I looked at some of the references; easily crosses the threshold for notable. Couldn't find anything specifically biased. Your broad brush statements not helping. <small><span class="autosigned">—&nbsp;Preceding ] comment added by ] (] • ]) 18:10, 2 June 2016 (UTC)</span></small><!-- Template:Unsigned --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

All the best,
::: You again added the tags. With almost every statement backed up with several references, this has to be one of the better cited articles. Not sure what's wrong. Why don't you highlight the issues and I will try to fix. Otherwise one can apply such tags to half the wikipedia (perhaps a lot more) to erode their credibility. Such tags are not only for editors, but also erode the credibility of the article for readers. I see that your pedantic behaviour is not unique to this page, so I'd suggest you either start fixing what you don't like, or stop being trigger happy on such tags.
::::There's a discussion on the talk page already. Discuss it there. As for "eroding credibility", the article in question has none: it's not the citations that are the problem. In fact, the tag says nothing about citations. Did you even read them? It's tagged for neutrality and copy editing. The article is written in a promotional manner. That's what needs to be fixed. In many cases, this sort of article needs a complete rewrite. Why exactly are you concerned with this particular article? It's not a good article. It was tagged for improvement, you are not attempting to improve the article, just removing a template, which you've been warned against. There's a reason those warnings exist. You are being disruptive without attempting to improve the article. If you are not interested in actually reading the guidelines listed in those templates and reading the talk page discussion, I suggest you move on to something else. The article will remain tagged until it follows Misplaced Pages guidelines. It's as simple as that. ]] 11:39, 22 June 2016 (UTC)
::::::Have you noticed the recent edits? Several edits have been made by several editors to address NPOV issues and improve copy editing. Notice the recent edits by Noah Kastin. I also checked for any single source edits. To the contrary, recent edits have been made by 18 different editors. Most of the biography content seems to be from a publicly available bio. I don't see any COI or NPOV issues, especially after major recent edits. <!-- Template:Unsigned --><small class="autosigned">—&nbsp;Preceding ] comment added by ] (] • ]) 07:20, 25 March 2017 (UTC)</small> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

Hello,

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Misplaced Pages, as you did to Cinema of Canada. Misplaced Pages is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Misplaced Pages uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. freshacconci talk to me 10:05, 10 June 2016 (UTC)

Together we can revolutionize Misplaced Pages!
...in regards to "She's A Woman" I do believe I have provided links/references (e.g. Official Charts Company, Record Collector<ref>https://recordcollectormag.com/articles/scritti-politti</ref><ref>https://recordcollectormag.com/reviews/album/absolute</ref> etc) that are ] and are from ], with ]. The fact that "She's A Woman" was a Top 20 hit in the UK and not for the Beatles, is a fact...and I cannot see why it wouldn't be a fact - look if Candy Flip's rubbish version of Strawberry Fields Forever is allowed in that article then surely Scritti should be mentioned under She's A Woman, Suggs under I'm Only Sleeping and Oasis' cover of I am The Walrus too in that article. Oasis should be mentioned in the I Am The Walrus article too, because they are mentioned under I'm Only Sleeping and thats only because someone found a YouTube clip of Stereophonics with Oasis. However, when it comes to Beatles tunes Oasis are probably better known for their version of I am The Walrus<ref>https://ultimateclassicrock.com/oasis-i-am-the-walrus-terrible-classic-rock-covers/</ref> seeing that Oasis are one of the most important bands in the last 30 years (in the United Kingdom anyway)...much more than Candy Flip ever were, who might just get a mention in some quarters of the press these days thanks to Robbie's Rudebox)...could be infobox worthy).

Ok man, I read Misplaced Pages:External links. My link was indeed accurate and on-topic. It was a link to the #1 generative art forum and archive on the planet today : https://www.reddit.com/r/generative/

That's about as on-topic and accurate as it gets. Certainly more relevant than links to a handful of old papers.

So how, specifically, did my link conflict with this guideline? Is it a format thing?

Also you put back that dead link that I removed. What's up with that?

I do think there are at least two people who I don't know why they are on that list in the first place, I can also NOT find any source for that listed artist, not even if I google their names there will be nothing which links them to Rock Balance. ==Frutarine on New Media Art==
The removal of Allan Kaprow, Gillian Wearing and Bill Viola from the list of new media artists in the article New Media Art is necessary as none of the above are new media artists. Allan Kaprow was a performance artist, writer and educator and while his writings are influential to new media art (see The New Media Reader) he is not a new media artist (this is even mentioned under Themes in the article) - he perhaps merits inclusion on this page under a different heading but not as one of its artists. Gillian Wearing works mostly with photography and video while Bill Viola is a video/installation artist. The only text on new media art that Wearing and Viola may have been included in to my knowledge is Michael Rush's publication New Media Art which is extremely dated and not very well considered as representative of what new media is. They are both listed in countless publications on video art and installation art. There are several other inaccuracies in the list including the listing of Furtherfield as an artist (they are an arts council funded organisation/gallery) and John Maeda who is a designer and educator however these are related to new media arts in one way or another and as such I have not removed them. (]] 17:04, 10 March 2017 (GMT))
:Video and video installation are new media. There are plenty of sources that support this and Viola's and Wearing's inclusion as new media can be supported as well. As for Kaprow, his Happenings could be counted at times as media art but that is a more obscure meaning of the term. I have no objection to Lynch's inclusion. I'm not familiar with him but looking at the article, he's clearly notable and a new media artist. ]] 17:10, 13 March 2017 (UTC)
::And to be clear, I'm not an inclusionist hellbent on including any and every name on the list. It is a long and unwieldy list. Certainly names can be removed -- there's one ] -- and I'm sure there are others that have been added over the years and forgotten, when they were not really applicable. ]] 17:13, 13 March 2017 (UTC)
::"Video and video installation are new media. There are plenty of sources that support this and Viola's and Wearing's inclusion as new media can be supported as well." - I think you know as well as I do that anything can be argued and supported with references, the difference is the quality of those references and whether they are representative of what new media art is predominantly accepted to be. Video as a form alone does not have the majority of the qualities or features of new media e.g. interaction, databases, networks etc. and does not match up with the description of new media within the article. Nor does video align in any way with Manovich's five principles, which are arguably the most inclusive yet pointed description of new media art. Video art existed long before anything resembling new media art so it cannot sensibly be argued as new media simply that newer variants of it have in some sense been influenced in turn by its development. If your thinking here is that video art is now produced on computers, digitally, well so is every other form of media but that does not make them new media art - if it did the term would become meaningless. In addition there is no use of new media anywhere in Wearing's article - think about the user who clicks back to this only to read nothing in context to what they have just read in the new media article. "As for Kaprow, his Happenings could be counted at times as media art but that is a more obscure meaning of the term." - New media art is not the same as media art. If it was there would be no need for the 'new' as a means to delineate the two, which countless authors have discussed and argued about. (]] 18:56, 10 March 2017 (GMT))

Hello Freshacconci (<small>sorry by advance for my poor english</small>)

I don't undesrtand why do you delete my corrections twice. It's a notable fact, that Jacques-Louis David belongs to the neoclassical movment. His paintings are representatives to this art movment. It is logical to indicate the correct movment under the picture of his painting ''le Sacre de Napoléon'' and not the genre painting, in an article the purpose of which is to present the concept of movment in art. You said : ''this article lists genres and movements'' it's not true, the landscape painting, the portrait genre or the still-life genre, are not included, only History painting. But there are romantic history painting (La liberté guidant le peuple is an history painting), rococo history painting, academic history painting, or neoclassical history painting, Indicating that it is not an art movment. Freshacconci is busy and is going to be on Misplaced Pages in off-and-on doses, and may not respond swiftly to queries.
Updated DYK queryOn 7 August 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Flight Stop, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that each of the sixty geese in Michael Snow's Flight Stop (pictured) is wearing a costume made from photographs of a dead Canada goose culled from Toronto Island? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Flight Stop. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Flight Stop), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
Updated DYK queryOn 22 September 2013, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Picture for Women, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Picture for Women by Canadian artist Jeff Wall is a photographic response to Édouard Manet's last major painting, A Bar at the Folies-Bergère (pictured)? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Picture for Women. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

RE. photo purporting to be Nico

Hi!

I have to disagree with you regarding the photograph which you believe to be Nico, performing with the Velvet Underground in Ann Arbor, Michigan, 1966.

See also: https://dangerousminds.net/comments/amazing_mod_wedding_with_andy_warhol_the_velvet_underground_nico_1966?fbclid=IwAR0wCIQ03KWf2Pn3D2mH4n3hxeKciq0gC1_Ydb9PEa7xvAYRtmn-gJ2ZLsg

Essentially, though, the proof is in the Detroit Free Press article I've quoted.

I hope you'll agree that this is not actually Nico after all, and I hope you find the materials interesting!

All the best,

I Am The Walrus

Hello,

How do you expect me to cite sources for a conspiracy theorist section? Considering this, there are no "credible" resources that I would be able to site.

I spent hours writing this section. Everything that I wrote is true. Would you want me to site sources from all internet sources?

I find this highly disrespectful. I went out of my way to do research and actually write something that I have actually have knowledge of.

Do you want me to site articles? If so I will gladly do so.

She's A Woman

...in regards to "She's A Woman" I do believe I have provided links/references (e.g. Official Charts Company, Record Collector etc) that are reliable sources and are from a neutral point of view, with no original research. However, when it comes to Beatles tunes Oasis are probably better known for their version of I am The Walrus seeing that Oasis are one of the most important bands in the last 30 years (in the United Kingdom anyway)...much more than Candy Flip ever were, who might just get a mention in some quarters of the press these days thanks to Robbie's Rudebox)...could be infobox worthy).

European American is not an ethnic group that includes all immigrants from Europe. Europe is diverse genetically and culturally.

Officially there is 87 ethnic groups recognized as Native peoples of Europe.

I am a Russian minority American of European Russia and if you think I’m going to say my ethnicity is European American you’re dead wrong. Cause it isn’t. And you will never get me to say otherwise. I’m closer to a few Siberian groups than I am to some Europeans both genetically and culturally.

And on my forms it says “Russian/Udmurt” as ethnicity. And you can take me to court if you want to change that. EurasianCultures (talk) 00:58, 24 February 2021 (UTC)

Short and sweet, but there's always more to discuss at WT:AFC. Stop on by, maybe review a draft on the way? I was the editor who originally added Kellner, I believe. I did so after reading Best and Kellner. I'm rethinking this, as I read more material on the subject. Help and guidance needed.

Hi Freshacconci,

My interests are topics such as the Visual Arts and specifically Contemporary Art. And I have been an avid reader of Misplaced Pages and a silent observer(and appreciator) of it's growth as a community since the last 15 years. I officially joined over 12 years ago. So my contribution as an article, on this topic I found, that I created all that while back; I'd like to genuinely contribute and build towards: hoping it would be part of the Featured Article column someday. Taking this opportunity to share how I sincerely look up to how you've channeled your thoughts on your talk page, and it's perhaps my reading experience that tells me you'd be of great help.

Which bring me to my request of seeking your help and guidance. I'd like you to perhaps contribute your time and effort in helping me build this further. Article: Manav Gupta

Subject 1:

As you're perhaps more experienced on due process. I wanted to add the following images to Misplaced Pages and consequently the article: Section Paintings: sold by Christies, Bonhams: Umbilical Cords of Earth, Air, Water, Fire, Space, Non Limiting Horizons, Public Art Installations and Projects: River Waterfront, Beehives, Rain, Rainforest and the Beehive GardenAnd would be grateful if you could help upload these.

Subject 2:

The following banner template was added over 9 years ago by you on the page of Manav Gupta.

This article contains wording that promotes the subject in a subjective manner without imparting real information. Please remove or replace such wording and instead of making proclamations about a subject's importance, use facts and attribution to demonstrate that importance. (Learn how and when to remove this message)

As one can note, the article has had significant improvements following and adhering to Misplaced Pages: Manual of Style/Biography and Misplaced Pages: Biography dos and don'ts in the edit of 2023.

In adherence to Misplaced Pages:Neutral point of view, I have done no original research on this subject. This is simply my contribution towards doing justice to topics such as biographies of living persons and adding to Misplaced Pages: WikiProject Visual arts. I'd like to believe that I have been thorough in citing notable references to any text placed in the article. The text used in the article does use facts and attribution to demonstrate it's existence.

Having stated all of this, I would like to humbly request you to please remove any wordings that do not meet the criteria of existing at all, in the article. I would sincerely appreciate if you could take some time out and provide me with some feedback on what I should do to better report and formalise my thoughts. But above all for you to perhaps show me how one can address such issues by your kind contribution towards solving this and taking it a step closer to featured article criteria status.

Warm Regards,

DO NOT revert without reason

Recently, on Penny Lane, you reverted my addition of the {{Jargon}} tag on a section. It's complete jargon! It's got nonsense about pitches and vocals that no one who isn't an experienced musician would understand without further context! 92.40.212.153 (talk) 18:48, 3 February 2024 (UTC)
