== Sejong City ==

I would recommend adding Sejong-si as the ''de facto'' capital of South Korea to the infobox.

The South Korean government has been moving ministries to the city ever since they have announced plans for a new capital (I could've not noticed a comment about Sejong in the infobox). ] (]) 10:33, 2 March 2024 (UTC)

:Seoul is by all means and purposes still the ''de facto'' capital of Korea. The centers of the legislative, executive, and judicial branches are still at Seoul. Also, South Korea is not moving the ''capital'' of Korea - they're moving the ''executive capital'' of Korea. ] (]) 11:24, 2 October 2024 (UTC)

::South Korea is indeed moving the capital of the country to Sejong, currently they have relocated most of the cabinet and are planning to move the president there. . A capital can be: executive, judicial, legislative or all three. If they moved the cabinet and other offices to '''Sejong, the city is the executive capital.''' Because the parliament and supreme court remain in '''Seoul, the city is the legislative and judicial capital.'''
== Ambiguity in modern names for the country/peninsula ==
::There is no "leading capital" when it comes to authority over the nation. Both cities now have a significant presence of government agencies. Seoul is no longer the only capital of South Korea, there are many reasons for the eventual move of all of the government to Sejong. '''Currently, Sejong and Seoul are both capitals of the nation, almost indisputably and accordingly with the definition of a national capital.''' ] (]) 16:31, 2 October 2024 (UTC)

== can each citizen vote in south korea ==
"While South Koreans use Han (or Hanguk) to refer to the entire country, North Koreans and Koreans in China use the term Joseon as the name of the country." Does 'entire country' mean South Korea or the entire Korean Peninsula? It could be read both ways.

can deaf and hard of vote in south korea ] (]) 19:34, 7 May 2024 (UTC)
== Move page to simply "Korea" under ]. ==

:Yes, people with disabilities can vote in South Korea.
Literally no-one uses the term "South Korea" , when people refer to the Republic of Korea they always say "Korea", only the Democratic Republic of Korea is called "North Korea", compare with other common name disputes like how the ] is called "Taiwan", and the People's Republic of China is called "China". There's no need to call this article "South Korea", it's an awkward term only used whenever "North Korea" is mentioned, but never when the country alone is mentioned.

: First you say "Literally no-one uses the term..." then you contradict yourself saying "it's an awkward term only used whenever..." Think about what you are saying. Also, to speculate that it is only used whenever North Korea is mentioned is false. Look, the New York Times uses it, without mentioning North Korea. (https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/16/business/hyundai-south-korea-whistle-blower-recall.html?rref=collection%2Fsectioncollection%2Fasia&_r=0) Look, the BBC uses it, without mentioning North Korea. (http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/39986946) There is clearly a reason for an encyclopedia to distinguish. And using the term "South Korea" is already abiding by ], as opposed to ROK. ] (]) 02:22, 22 May 2017 (UTC)
:Don't know where you've been hearing people referring to this country as simply "Korea", but I sure ain't heard anybody do that. Mark Froelich could probably have FILLED this page with examples of "South Korea" being used without any whiff of a mention of North Korea. --] (]) 15:57, 27 May 2017 (UTC)

:Bad idea, there are currently two countries North Korea and South Korea and it would be very misleading to just name South Korea as the only "Korea." What would the nickname of North Korea be then? North Koreans will probably try to use the name "Korea" and then it would just be a mess. Right now there is still two countries: North Korea and South Korea so the articles should reflect this reality and not fiction. ] (]) 01:59, 31 May 2017 (UTC)

Sejong City

I would recommend adding Sejong-si as the de facto capital of South Korea to the infobox.

The South Korean government has been moving ministries to the city ever since they have announced plans for a new capital (I could've not noticed a comment about Sejong in the infobox). Felleno (talk) 10:33, 2 March 2024 (UTC)

Seoul is by all means and purposes still the de facto capital of Korea. The centers of the legislative, executive, and judicial branches are still at Seoul. Also, South Korea is not moving the capital of Korea - they're moving the executive capital of Korea. Bluepotato81 (talk) 11:24, 2 October 2024 (UTC)
South Korea is indeed moving the capital of the country to Sejong, currently they have relocated most of the cabinet and are planning to move the president there. Here is Korea Herald reporting on the decision to establish a presidential office in Sejong. A capital can be: executive, judicial, legislative or all three. If they moved the cabinet and other offices to Sejong, the city is the executive capital. Because the parliament and supreme court remain in Seoul, the city is the legislative and judicial capital.
There is no "leading capital" when it comes to authority over the nation. Both cities now have a significant presence of government agencies. Seoul is no longer the only capital of South Korea, there are many reasons for the eventual move of all of the government to Sejong. Currently, Sejong and Seoul are both capitals of the nation, almost indisputably and accordingly with the definition of a national capital. Felleno (talk) 16:31, 2 October 2024 (UTC)
