:I am not stressed at all. To the contrary, I am very relaxed, and I have a thick skin which you need to have if you are an admin as you can get compared with quite some heavy things, like being a communist and neo-nazi at the same day... :-). Hello! I'm brand new to Misplaced Pages editing, but I discovered some plagiarism on the Blackberry page. The entire section under "Plants" comes from this blog post: https://creaseymahannaturepreserve.org/blackberris-vs-raspberries/. Looks like I'm off the hook for mediatorship ;) Thanks Kim for asking. I hope you remain safe through the storm. I've thought about this and I am, as Ben and Homey both pointed out, already involved in the dispute. I would like to contribute to consensus-building as a participant. :The newly proposed article name is a very specific title, and limits all discussion at the page to the allegations. Therefore, it effectively excludes anything beyond that. So, an article dealing with an analysis of the situation based on for example scholary articles which examines whether the term apartheid is relevant for the Israeli situation would require a seperate article as that is not an accusation/allegation, but a valid scholary analysis. I think that one article is already enough, and I do not see the need for several articles dealing with this term, so I think is not warranted to have multiple articles. -- ] ] 05:09, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

Blackberry Page

Hello! I'm brand new to Misplaced Pages editing, but I discovered some plagiarism on the Blackberry page. The entire section under "Plants" comes from this blog post: https://creaseymahannaturepreserve.org/blackberris-vs-raspberries/. I saw in the Talk page that you hosted a Wiki-athon and worked on this page, so I'm thinking it may have come from the newbies. Could you let me know how this should typically be handled by an editor? Thank you! Shaynaalice (talk) 23:08, 9 April 2024 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

Administrator Elections: Call for Candidates

Administrator Elections | Call for Candidates

The administrator elections process has officially started! Interested editors are encouraged to self-nominate or arrange to be nominated by reviewing the instructions at Misplaced Pages:Administrator elections/October 2024/Call for candidates.

Here is the schedule:

  • October 8–14 - Candidate sign-up (we are here)
  • October 22–24 - Discussion phase
  • October 25–31 - SecurePoll voting phase

Please note the following:

  • The requirements to run are identical to RFA—a prospective candidate must be extended confirmed.
  • Prospective candidates are advised to become familar with the community's expectations of adminstrators, which are much higher than the minimum requirement of having extended confirmed status. This includes reviewing successful and unsuccessful RFAs, reading the essay Misplaced Pages:Advice for RfA candidates, and possibly requesting an optional poll on their chances of passing.
  • The process will have a one week call for candidates phase, a one week pause to set up SecurePoll, a three-day period of public discussion, followed by 7 days of no public discussion and a private vote using SecurePoll.
  • The outcomes of this process are identical to making requests for adminship. There is no official difference between an administrator appointed through RFA or administrator elections.
  • Administrator elections are also a valid means of regaining adminship for de-sysopped editors.

Ask any questions about the process at the talk page. A separate user talk message will be sent to official candidates with additional information about the process.

To avoid sending too many messages, this will be the last mass message sent about administrator elections. If you are interested in the process, please make sure to watchlist the appropriate pages. A watchlist notice will be added when the discussion phase opens, and again when the voting phase opens.

Administrator Elections: Discussion phase

Administrator Elections | Discussion phase

The discussion phase of the October 2024 administrator elections is officially open. As a reminder, the schedule of the election is:

  • October 22–24 - Discussion phase
  • October 25–31 - SecurePoll voting phase
  • November 1–? - Scrutineering phase

During October 22–24, we will be in the discussion phase. The candidate subpages will open to questions and comments from everyone, in the same style as a request for adminship. You may discuss the candidates at Misplaced Pages:Administrator elections/October 2024/Discussion phase.

On October 25, we will start the voting phase. The candidate subpages will close again to public questions and discussion, and everyone will have a week to use the SecurePoll software to vote, which uses a secret ballot. You can see who voted, but not who they voted for. Please note that the vote tallies cannot be made public until after voting has ended and as such, it will not be possible for you to see an individual candidate's tally during the election. The suffrage requirements are different from those at RFA.

Once voting concludes, we will begin the scrutineering phase, which will last for an indeterminate amount of time, perhaps a week or two. Once everything is certified, the results will be posted on the main election page. In order to be granted adminship, a candidate must have received at least 70.0% support, calculated as Support / (Support + Oppose). As this is a vote and not a consensus, there are no bureaucrat discussions ("crat chats").

Any questions or issues can be asked on the election talk page. Thank you for your participation. Happy electing.

deletion at wp:FTN about geoengineering

Instead of deleting the convo, could you close the convo itself, contact the admin who was rev-deleting the outing material, and let them handle it? would be better for logging, and i saw admin still left the entire ANI up still.

thank you! Bluethricecreamman (talk) 02:35, 17 January 2025 (UTC)

pinging @The_Bushranger about it as well to rev-del FTN for anything that outs. I dont think i see any i think, but just pinging just in case. Bluethricecreamman (talk) 02:39, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
I flagged down an admin on IRC and they rev-deleted it. Take care, Clayoquot (talk | contribs) 03:05, 17 January 2025 (UTC)

ANI topic

Hi Clayoquot, regarding Proposal: Topic ban for EMsmile, could you please use {{Moved discussion from}} and {{Moved discussion to}} templates when sub-sectioning discussions for continuity in future. While this usually isn't applicable or necessary when a proposal isn't out-dented, in this case it's a reply to another comment, and it's not clear what the comment was. I remembered seeing this yesterday and intended to add these templates for you, but now the placement has been lost without trawling through the edit history. Could you retrospectively add these, assuming you know where the discussion was split from? CNC (talk) 18:02, 21 January 2025 (UTC)

Will do. Thanks for letting me know!! Clayoquot (talk | contribs) 18:35, 21 January 2025 (UTC)
I haven't used these templates before. I looked into this and I think adding these templates could make things more cluttered and even harder to follow. I've added a small note to the comment whose original location is ambiguous. Does this solve the problem? Clayoquot (talk | contribs) 18:57, 21 January 2025 (UTC)
Yes thanks, it seems clear who the original reply was to now, even if that note should be signed and disconnected from the comment itself (to avoid accusation of editing others comments, ie at the top with the other one. CNC (talk) 19:02, 21 January 2025 (UTC)
