==Consistancy==
I don't know if we're looking at different definitions or something, but article consistancy is exactly my reason for changing "Gomu Gomu" to "Gum Gum". Having Luffy's attacks being called "Gum Gum" whatever at one point in the article and then "Gomu Gomu" at another point will just confuse the reader. And yeah, you're probably the 5th person or so to comment on me not archiving my talk page. I'm just lazy. ] 18:41, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

==Re: Whatever's going on here...==
":Like I said there, if it ment "use the Official english version no matter what", then that clause has no point in existance. It HAS to mean "fans determine the usage"." - Misplaced Pages was not just written for fans of a given series. It was also written for average Joes who have no prior knowledge of a subject. Also keep in mind that not all fans of a given television show are part of the long-standing fan culture of the original shows. See, on Misplaced Pages, one must try to consider what works best for the broader audience. The average Joe probably will be exposed to One Piece through official book versions and versions on television. ] 02:51, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
Hi, and thank you for taking notice. By the looks of it, that is a rogue IP used by one experienced blocked/banned user (I could guess who it is, but I don't want to give him the time of day), who known I watchlisted the page and trying to get my attention in the most pathetic way. I think he is gaming the system by posting an insanely crude and inane message then and now (for instance, ), waiting for the IP to go stale (or changing it), then coming up with tiny reposts to let us know he's still around. If I guessed right about the identity of the user, so I tend to look at this, and then overlook it, in the light of that fact. ] (]) 06:53, 12 December 2011 (UTC)

==Just a note== ==Joke banner==
I'm not going to revert your removal of NWA.Rep's joke banner from his talkpage, as I have already reverted the same edit by Bartsa. But I'm really sorry to see that you think it necessary to kick a guy who is so completely down. The joke isn't that funny, but it's not disruptive by any definition. Removing such harmless things from userpages, which users traditionally have wide latitude to manage themselves, raises the temperature and the mutual hostility in the community, and that is in the long run far more hurtful to the encyclopedia than a silly joke or two (this one wastes editors' time to the tune of what, three seconds?). And no, he can't "fight his own battles", as he has scrambled his password. His one point of pride right now is to retain the banner, which has been there for a long time. I confess I don't think it an important thing in itself, but I can understand how somebody can get very upset about the deletion of his userpage, and try to retain at least this last trace of his personal choice on Misplaced Pages. Please see the discussion on my talkpage. ] | ] 22:40, 16 December 2011 (UTC).
Not trying to accuse you or anything, but just FYI 'blond' is correct (as is 'blonde') for describing light hair. However, because the word is used in French where the final 'e' is added for females, it's usually best to say 'blond' when referring to males or objects perceived as masculine. At least, this is the style I follow. You may of course choose to ignore this. -- ] (]) 20:49, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

==WikiProject Good Articles Recruitment Centre==

{|{{Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Good articles/Recruitment Centre/Shell|introduction=Hello! Now, some of you might have already received a similar message a little while ago regarding the Recruitment Centre, so if you have, there is no need to read the rest of this. This message is directed to users who have reviewed between 12-14 Good article nominations and '''are not''' part of ] (the initial messages I sent out went to only WikiProject members and users that had over 15 reviews).

So for those who haven't heard about the Recruitment Centre yet, you may be wondering why there is a Good article icon with a bunch of stars around it (to the right). The answer? WikiProject Good articles will be launching a Recruitment Centre very soon! The centre will allow all users to be taught how to review Good article nominations by experts just like you! However, in order for the Recruitment Centre to open in the first place, we need some volunteers:

*'''Recruiters:''' The main task of a recruiter is to teach users that have never reviewed a Good article nomination how to review one. To become a recruiter, all you have to do is meet ]. Now, one of the most important criteria is that you have at least 15 independent reviews. If you are reading this, you are likely 3 (or less) reviews short, so if you review another couple nominations, you can become a recruiter! If interested, make sure you meet the criteria, read ] and add your name to the ]. (One of the great things about being a recruiter is that there is no set requirement of what must be taught and when. Instead, all the content found in the ] is a guideline of the main points that should be addressed during a recruitment session...you can also take an entire different approach if you wish!) If you think you will not have the time to recruit any users at this time but are still interested in becoming a recruiter, you can still add your name to the list of recruiters but just fill in the "Status" parameter with "Not Available".

''NOTE:'' If you are interested in becoming a recruiter but do not meet the 15 review requirement, you can still add your name to the list of recruiters and put your status as "Not Available" until you have reviewed enough nominations.

*'' '''Nominators, please read this:''' '' If you are not interested in becoming a recruiter, you can still help. In some cases a nominator may have an issue with an "inexperienced" editor (the recruitee) reviewing one of their nominations. To minimize the chances of this happening, if you are fine with a recruitee reviewing one of your nominations under the supervision of the recruiter, please add your name to the list at the bottom of ]. By adding your name to this list, chances are that your nomination will be reviewed more quickly as the recruitee will be asked to choose a nomination from the list of nominators that are OK with them reviewing the article.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ]. I look forward to seeing this program bring new reviewers to the Good article community and all the positive things it will bring along.

''A message will be sent out to all recruiters regarding the date when the Recruitment Centre will open when it is determined. The message will also contain some further details to clarify things that may be a bit confusing.''--] (]

Hi, Hi,

Did you have time to go through the AFDs and DRVs as I requested? Or are you making pronouncements on the life of a horse having not examined the animal? ] (]) 15:44, 12 August 2014 (UTC)
Saw your comments on a couple of talk pages. Kannadi per se, is not any swear word that I know of. The problem is that it just doesnt '''mean''' anything. Of course in ] ''Kannadi'' means 'mirror'. So I hope you see the absurdity of calling Kannada speakers(or ]) "Mirrors"! Just doesnt make any sense!

==]==
And whats more, mahawiki is doing it out of spite. The first time I asked him not to do it was probably a month ago. And he retorted on some talk page saying... "wow.. he(thats me) doesnt like it! so I'll use it!!". not just me, but you can ask any ], they'll take exception to being addressed as ''Kannadi'', not because it is a swear word(atleast not in ]) but because its simply absurd and can probably be construed as being made fun of(who knows what it means in ]). Offensive or not, it is at best a slang.

Hi, Erachima. It's an impressive work; a B, for sure. A matter of preference but I'd go with ] for citations of the manga itself. It's cleaner, visually-wise, in my opinion. Instead of citing everytime "Kubo, Tite (2000). ''Zombie Powder vol. 01''. Shueisha. pp. XX. {{ISBN|4-08-872828-9}}," it's okay to have the complete citation once and then only use the chapter. ] is also a good option. The difference is that you cite the chapter with gnr and the page with rp. Cheers, ] (]) 18:53, 12 August 2014 (UTC)
mw's excuse that kannadigas are called kannadis in ] is lame. Gross ignorance of ]n languages and customs in Northern India is not rare and that might explain Kannadigas being addressed as Kannadis. For that matter, Indians(and all others in the world) have their own terminologies to refer to people of various nationalities, ethnicities and races. That doesnt mean we start using it on en.wikipedia. ] 20:22, 21 September 2006 (UTC)

==GAN==
*Karnatakan may well be the intuitive English word for a native of Karnataka(on that count why not Karntaka'''ian'''? or Kannada'''an''' or Kannada'''ian'''). Point is, these terms are never used, not even by international english authors. The only other term that has been used to refer to Kannadigas is the anglicised ''Canarese''. But that is an old colonial usage(not offensive, may I hasten to add) and has fallen into disuse(since the last many many many years).

I replied to your idea at WT:GAN and I like it. Though I was wondering about a collaboration on something. I'm not to picky on the topic or area, but I think it'd be good to work together on an article. I've always found that to be a fun way to get to know each other better. Would you want to do that? ] (]) 03:30, 16 August 2014 (UTC)
And no, he isnt adding it on the article pages yet(atleast hasnt caught my eye if he has), but there's no saying that he wont feel emboldened to add it on the article pages either(in future). Also, like I said, every ] will first react with surprise when first addressed as Kannadi. But will certainly take exception if he/she realises that it is being done out of spite and not out of bonafide ignorance.

==Well closed==
So if he continues the use of it even on the talk pages, and even if i start ignoring it myself, rest assured, someone else(a Kannadiga) will rake this up again when he sees it. So its better we put a stop to this now. ] 20:57, 21 September 2006 (UTC)

..."And dont hide behind meaningless google hits which only maratis can read. Interestingly, google also gives a hit for Chatripati Shivaji. So right, Chatripati Shivaji(wow.. the name sounds so coooool), he is and will be from now on...

==Historicity of Jesus==
Insistance of Kannadig is like insistance of Bhartiya instead of Indian and 'Marathi manoos' for Maharashtrians.
The user Sarvagnya is just taking revenge of his failure at ] page where he tried his best to remove ] transliteration.

Thank you for closing. The basic problem appears to be well-meaning but very bad advice at ]. The issues were taken to WP:DRN, where the volunteer editor said that the issues involved both content and conduct (which was correct), and said to take the content issues to ] and the conduct issues to ]. The latter was well-meaning but bad advice, because, although there are conduct issues, none of the contentious editors have put together diffs or made a specific case. (Also, it isn't, in my opinion, a good case for formal mediation, but that is another question.) There are conduct issues, but they aren't formulated for admin action yet. (I don't think that they will ever be dealt with at WP:ANI anyway. I have the feeling that the case will eventually go to arbitration, but that is my opinion.) ] (]) 15:12, 16 August 2014 (UTC)

re ] I don't get your comment? I am calm. However, I'm not very happy about the process that is going on that page. I don't care that much about the proposal, let it stand or fall as it will. I don't, however, think it's right or fair or proper to slap a Rejected tag on a discussion that is very much alive, productive, and running at above 2/3 in favor -- and then protect the page, and call "edit war" if that's not allowed to stand. **Nah. I can't buy it. If he wanted to improve the article, he wouldn't have gone along with slapping a premature "Rejected" tag on it and then protecting it. If he wanted to advance his version he could have posted a draft on a subpage and not blanked the page -- and it was page blanking, you know (and so was the diff you showed me, for that matter). I'm glad that we settled that matter, I'm not the type of person that goes around doing that sort of thing to everyone on Misplaced Pages. I obviously am not proud of it, I have had a few run ins with people in the past but lately I've been editing with causing any disturbances. I know the chances of us working together are pretty slim, but when Super Power Warriors comes out (2007/2008) perhaps we can work together on that, seeing as how I already have a template for it. I see the talk page didn't come along (seems like a bug with the move-delete combo); I've fixed it now. The reason for this move is that the Office and OTRS get a lot of complaints about the term "vanity", since the subjects of articles find it derogatory. Well, what I said on ] was that I thought we could merge all (or most) of the individual character articles into a master ] organized by the book in which they first appeared. I thought that we could put the books in the order of their printing, not chronological order. You reverted my deletion of the mention of Hitsugaya in Jump Super Stars. My original rationale on September 28 was that "ichigo, renji, rukia, and orihime are in that game too so why no mention of their appearances, either mention them all or don't mention it at all." I think all should be mentioned for consistency on their respective articles or not be mentioned at all. ] 18:31, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

Just so you know, I was a bit terser with Perfect T than I would have been with a more usual 'new' editor. This was partly because his/her/its ''eighth'' edit was to of ]. There was some other assorted nonsense in the first dozen or so edits that also pointed to a returning troll instead of a confused newbie.

I firmly believe that in most cases there's nothing wrong with a banned editor returning to Misplaced Pages under a new name—''as long as that editor doesn't continue the behaviour that got them banned in the first place''. With Perfect T, I was prepared to play the if-you-want-to-pretend-to-be-a-new-editor-I'll-pretend-you're-not-suspiciously-familiar-with-Misplaced Pages game, where it seemed ''possible'' that T was going to shape up and do something useful. On the other hand, I wasn't going to be an idiot about it and let slide behaviour that a returning editor (or even fundamentally reasonable person) ought to know was wrong.

This user may have left Misplaced Pages. Erachima has not edited Misplaced Pages since 2 December 2020. As a result, any requests made here may not receive a response. If you are seeking assistance, you may need to approach someone else.
This user is working himself to death at college, and probably won't be editing actively, except maybe on breaks, for the foreseeable future.

Re: Whatever's going on here...

Hi, and thank you for taking notice. By the looks of it, that is a rogue IP used by one experienced blocked/banned user (I could guess who it is, but I don't want to give him the time of day), who known I watchlisted the page and trying to get my attention in the most pathetic way. I think he is gaming the system by posting an insanely crude and inane message then and now (for instance, this one), waiting for the IP to go stale (or changing it), then coming up with tiny reposts to let us know he's still around. If I guessed right about the identity of the user, so I tend to look at this, and then overlook it, in the light of that fact. Dahn (talk) 06:53, 12 December 2011 (UTC)

Joke banner

Bishonen | talk 22:40, 16 December 2011 (UTC).

WikiProject Good Articles Recruitment Centre

Hello! Now, some of you might have already received a similar message a little while ago regarding the Recruitment Centre, so if you have, there is no need to read the rest of this. This message is directed to users who have reviewed between 12-14 Good article nominations and are not part of WikiProject Good articles (the initial messages I sent out went to only WikiProject members and users that had over 15 reviews).

 • Recruiters: The main task of a recruiter is to teach users that have never reviewed a Good article nomination how to review one. To become a recruiter, all you have to do is meet this criteria. Now, one of the most important criteria is that you have at least 15 independent reviews. If you are reading this, you are likely 3 (or less) reviews short, so if you review another couple nominations, you can become a recruiter! If interested, make sure you meet the criteria, read the process and add your name to the list of recruiters. (One of the great things about being a recruiter is that there is no set requirement of what must be taught and when. Instead, all the content found in the process section is a guideline of the main points that should be addressed during a recruitment session...you can also take an entire different approach if you wish!) If you think you will not have the time to recruit any users at this time but are still interested in becoming a recruiter, you can still add your name to the list of recruiters but just fill in the "Status" parameter with "Not Available".

NOTE: If you are interested in becoming a recruiter but do not meet the 15 review requirement, you can still add your name to the list of recruiters and put your status as "Not Available" until you have reviewed enough nominations.

 • Nominators, please read this: If you are not interested in becoming a recruiter, you can still help. In some cases a nominator may have an issue with an "inexperienced" editor (the recruitee) reviewing one of their nominations. To minimize the chances of this happening, if you are fine with a recruitee reviewing one of your nominations under the supervision of the recruiter, please add your name to the list at the bottom of this page. By adding your name to this list, chances are that your nomination will be reviewed more quickly as the recruitee will be asked to choose a nomination from the list of nominators that are OK with them reviewing the article.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to seeing this program bring new reviewers to the Good article community and all the positive things it will bring along.

A message will be sent out to all recruiters regarding the date when the Recruitment Centre will open when it is determined. The message will also contain some further details to clarify things that may be a bit confusing.--Dom497 (talk)

Nomination of Bleach (anime) for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Bleach (anime) is suitable for inclusion in Misplaced Pages according to Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Bleach (anime) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Personal attacks

This is a personal attack and clearly inappropriate. I have reverted it. Your preceding comment isn't much better. You may want to redact parts of that yourself. I fully understand that there are longstanding disagreements with ChrisGualtieri about various anime- and manga-related articles, but personal attacks of this type only poison the well and do not help at all, least of all yourself. Huon (talk) 03:42, 8 October 2013 (UTC)

I, obviously, disagree that it was unwarranted or I wouldn't have said it. The division between a standard disagreement and a WP:TEND case is that it's the editor, not just the editing, that has become the problem. --erachima talk 04:07, 8 October 2013 (UTC)

AN talk

I'm not sure that this sort of thing is at all helpful, especially as the user in question is blocked and can't say anything in protest. I'd also suggest that it's probably fairly impolite to modify another's signature, even with a (presumably intended to be) humorous edit summery, and quite likely to be outside policy too. Perhaps you'd like to go back and revert yourself? Thank you, Cheers, Lindsay 08:19, 11 October 2013 (UTC)

Zombiepowder.

Hi, Erachima. It's an impressive work; a B, for sure. A matter of preference but I'd go with {{gnr}} for citations of the manga itself. It's cleaner, visually-wise, in my opinion. Instead of citing everytime "Kubo, Tite (2000). Zombie Powder vol. 01. Shueisha. pp. XX. ISBN 4-08-872828-9," it's okay to have the complete citation once and then only use the chapter. {{rp}} is also a good option. The difference is that you cite the chapter with gnr and the page with rp. Cheers, Gabriel Yuji (talk) 18:53, 12 August 2014 (UTC)

Historicity of Jesus

Thank you for closing. The basic problem appears to be well-meaning but very bad advice at WP:DRN. The issues were taken to WP:DRN, where the volunteer editor said that the issues involved both content and conduct (which was correct), and said to take the content issues to requests for mediation and the conduct issues to WP:ANI. I have the feeling that the case will eventually go to arbitration, but that is my opinion.) July 2019

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Talk:Ƒ/8 and be there; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

 1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
 2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. ——SerialNumber54129 09:05, 9 July 2019 (UTC)
