The Aloha 30 is a small recreational keelboat, built predominantly of fiberglass, with wood trim. It has a fractional sloop rig, a/an internally-mounted spade-type rudder and a fixed fin keel. It displaces 6,800 lb (3,084 kg) and carries 2,960 lb (1,343 kg) of ballast.

The boat has a draft of 5.75 ft (1.75 m) with the standard keel and 4.5 ft (1.4 m) with the optional shoal draft keel.

The boat is fitted with a Westerbeke or Volvo diesel engine. The fuel tank holds 12 U.S. gallons (45 L; 10.0 imp gal) and the fresh water tank has a capacity of 30 U.S. gallons (110 L; 25 imp gal).
